I have brightness 90, contrast 65, Console mode On, and Smart HDR set as: Desktop (even though HDR on the console is off)
I like peak 1000 but I known it's too dark sometimes for even mw3. True black 400 seems good. For consoles you tried sports. It give more control and color vs standard in sdr.
I love how this monitor has EARC, that means I can replace my very cheap TV with this monitor and still use my soundbar. but does this monitor have image upscaling for lower resolution content and does this monitor have motion interpolation (motion smoothing) like some Samsung monitors?
Im just a gamer so do you think standard mode are enough on games? But i noticed the sport mode are more vibrant. Whats your brightness settings on games or in hdr mode?
In hdr I do like peak 1000 over true black 400. I like those highlights. For sdr I just keep it on standard but other presets do enable more options. Whatever looks best to you is best. Ill check other options out
@ViktorsReality I've seen some reviewers just saying that people need to skip this monitor all together but I'm not sure why, I don't do work with it .
@@mystycim for gaming no issues. Creative mode fix is just a reset away. Now shipping/micro scratches depend from monitor to monitor. I have never seen this on other monitors. Console works perfect too.
I received my aw3225qf last week Friday in Hdr colors wash out, in Sdr colors have way more vibrancy this also happens in games. Sdr way more color in Hdr washed out colors. My question to you. Did you have to add color with the nvidia settings "Digital Vibrancy" or did it look washed-out right out of the box when you applied Hdr the very first time? Only when I add digital vibrancy am I floored by the color reproduction in HDR Mode.
@@redx566 Maybe red, that's one possibility out of dozens I could come up with. I'm thinking just return it and wait for the other variations coming. Then I'll have to carry my last monitor back downstairs the 55" S90c. It was giving me a lot of eyestrain.
I tried your fix for the 2.2 gamma creator mode on this monitor and while it makes a difference, I believe it's still inaccurate, at least on my unit. It's no longer unusable, but darks still look over brightened and very meh. If I wanted those levels of darks, I might as well have just stuck with good ol' LCDs. In my opinion, the only way to get truly accurate image out of the monitor is to set it to either standard, one of the game modes, or console mode, and to use Novideo_srgb app for Nvidia or the option in the display driver for AMD to clamp the color gamut to srgb. The 2.2 gamma curve the monitor defaults to in the modes other than srg creator one is the most accurate gamma IMO. You can still see all the squares in the Lagom black level test, except the darkest one, and both the brights and darks look just about perfect to me. In console mode, it is also possible to use other gamma modes as well, but I would stick with 2.2 for accuracy. I really, really hope that Dell will release firmware that will bring 2.2 gamma from standard mode into srgb creator mode, so we can just set it and forget it, but I doubt it will happen... My aw3423dwf has a similar problem in creator 2.2 srgb mode and it has not been fixed yet. It seems as though they are targeting srgb gamma curve with it and not actual 2.2 gamma? I ain't no expert on this, but I do like my colors and image on monitors to be accurate and I personally feel that the latter just looks far nicer in the darks. You can still see detail, but it's not so obvious that it becomes too bright and ruins atmosphere in dark games and movies, like that srgb gamma curve does. Then again, I have never calibrated my monitors and don't know what actual proper srgb gamma is supposed to look like. All I know is that to me, the 2.4 is a bit too dark, the 2.2 creator is too bright, and the 2.2 one in other modes is just right (except the last lagom square not being visible, but it's no biggie).
I’m still trying to learn about monitors, but why did you state in the video that you wouldn’t use hdr with creator mode? And also why choose srgb over dci-p3? Thanks and I enjoyed the review overall
Hi... I would just use standard as it has more color pop (a small bit oversaturated to a trained eye) vs creator which has more toned down accurate colors for creative purposes. It all depends on which you use on dcip3 vs srgb. I have always used srgb for content.
I have an important update on my AW3225QF. I have noticed some bad uniformity on dark grays below 20% gray. It gets real ugly in a pitch black room in dark gray scenes in games when camera is panning. When examining test images, the 5 and 10% gray ones look like one of those old LG CX oled tvs with lots of blotches and stripes all over the screen. I then tested my Aw3423dwf using the same dark grey images and it has only a few tiny vertical stripes there that are hardly visible... This makes me so sad, as the AW3225QF is otherwise my perfect monitor and has no other problems with the image. The lighter colors all look very uniform and great. I wonder if I just got a particularly bad unit and should try an exchange. Urghh... Was really hoping to avoid playing panel lottery again. Lol
I would like if it was possible for you to make a fan test and a thermal test see how hot the monitor gets it is the only reason why I will not buy this monitor because it has a fan
I think the 360hz qd-oled has this creator mode bug to. I unfortunately returned it since I don't like how games look in 1440p and I play a lot of competitive games that don't have Hdr support, and the sdr was just a little to dim for competitive play.
I do believe the 27" HDR caps at 930ish nits. Well according to digital trends and pc gamer. SDR is just ok here too. Once 300nits full field is hit that will be great.
@edimarrodrigrove3377 Well I was hoping the 1440p would make a bigger improvement in the more casual "graphics focused games" but coming from a 1080p monitor and a 4k tv, the difference just wasn't as noticeable as I'd hoped. Plus a lot of games now use Taa (temporal anti aliasing) which is made for 4k in mind. So I'm probably going to stay at 1080p for competitive at a 24in size and then a 4k tv for story games. What really held me back was the brightness, having a flat 250 nits just isn't engaging in games like fortnite or overwatch for me, I need 350+ to get that pop to the image, not just highlights in hdr.
Faut il activer le hdr dans Windows 10 ou désactiver ? Avec ces réglages ? Avant un jeu faut activer dans Windows 10 le hdr ou pas besoins ? Merci par avance
DCI-P3 changes the colors for sure but its not that washed. The errors can be seen on screen when changing vs other gamma settings. There is a glitch and needs to be fixed.
So have you also run into the issue that it’s nearly impossible to turn off Dolby Vision? No matter what HDR mode I’ve chosen (even in dell display manager) Dolby Vision just overrides and blows everything out. Only on pc though. Console works just as intended
Honestly No one expected MLA 2.0 this yr nor Gen 3 QD OLED panels. So they may surprise us sooner rather than later. Within 2 yrs Im thinking.. As both next yr RGB OLED from LG and QD OLED will be enchanced to be faster.
Which preset do you use in HDR? Especially in Demon’s souls, looks amazing! Also, how do I prevent Dolby Vision kicking on and only HDR 1000? Dolby Vision looks like shit in games.
I use so far HDR peak 1000. Dolby vision will not turn on, on the ps5. On xbox disable it in the xbox menu if needed. On PC? I still need to see as its on by default. But Im guessing a similar way in windows. Im on win 11.
How is the curve compared to the 34DW? Watching the video it looks like the curve is too aggressive to me at 1600R vs 1800R with the 34DW which is the only thing that has me reconsidering this monitor. I'm not sure a curve is necessary at 32 inches.
Trust me it not curved much. I had the camera 40% vertical below the center so I did see the aggressive curve look. When I do a vs video it will not show as much. When playing on this I never noticed the curve up close.
The colors are so washed on my monitor. I tried doing the fix at the end of the video but it didn’t work. Hopefully this is something that will be fixed in a firmware update… so far very disappointed in this
Wait so you never use SDR? Always on HDR even unsupported games? İ am asking because in daily use if i activate hdr in my alienware oled 34 its really washed out in desktop use and unsuportted games and videos
HDR mode you want DCI-P3, sRGB is for SDR non HDR usage so it's not really a fix. the freesync version of the ultrawide alienware also has this bug and afaik it never got fixed. Either way I'm returning my 3225QF and staying with my C2 waiting for more monitors to come out. I wasn't super impressed with QD-OLED, yes its better but not huge, 240hz is huge but I'd rather wait for the flat panels and one that has audio out. How Dell didn't put audio out on this monitor is beyond me.
Yep, even LG puts optical out on their monitors like their TVs. I have a soundcard to get audio from all my consoles hooked up via hdmi to my PC where I use speakers or headphones out of my DAC/AMP. The Alienware monitor forced me to buy an $80 switcher box from Orei to keep the same setup working and further cluttering my desk. @@DisplayReality

I saw the same thing. I'm assuming brightness can be dimmed a bit. We are probably talking about the same review. The guy may have been sitting too close and set the brightness high. I would have brightness around 70% and have blackout curtains on the windows. No matter how they sell it, OLED is meant for dark rooms. Pushing more brightness on these products is diverting people from their optimal environment and then they complain about it being bas and overhyped.
For HDR it would be a nice side upgrade as you already have brightness. But lll get to a vs test very soon. But you got it for 500! So this 1,000+ is not worth it. Wait for a price drop for sure

Hey. I have the aw3225qf but there is something that drives me crazy... There is flickering with G-Sync turned on. It's mainly in situations with gray on the screen like in dark situations which are not 100% black or a little bit lighter. It does happen in loadingscreens too. Is that a common issue for that monitor? Is it a common issue for OLED monitors? I tried it without G-Sync and everything worked perfectly fine. But without G-Sync the games doesn't feel as smooth as with it and have screen-tearing. Could anyone tell me if that is normal and if other OLED monitors (like the Asus pg32ucdm) doesn't have this issue? It's really really sad that this has VRR flickering because if it wouldn't have it, it would be a perfect monitor. I'm thinking about returning it because that isn't acceptable for 1000 bucks to be honest. (Latest Firmware is installed) Would be really nice if anyone can help!
Still doesnt come close to my 3 year old Asus pg32UQX hdr 1400 max highlights @ 1700 nits. With 1152 dimming zones it can bloom from time to time but HDR 1700 is crazy cool. I might still have to pick up one of these 32 inch monitors. I had the AW34 ultra wide and returned it within two weeks(way too blurry and dim) Maybe the 32 will change my mind ❤
I'm pretty sure the brown cardboard is added to replace the platic foams to protect the enviornment. And this is rather a costy solution. Do we not care about sustainability?
Pixio and Gigabyte add multi layer foam and the box is smaller. If Im paying over 1k it should be better protected. Ppl wont care unless it happens to them on receiving a broken monitor.
The HDR PEAK 1000 will be brighter at those peaks. But other modes may be lower but fuller like true black 400. Tho I tried all of them and Peak stood out vs the others. Its all preference..
I seem to have a weird issue with my Alienware monitor where when I put it in hdr 1000, it looks duller than just being in standard.. especially standard ''sports mode'', anyone know why this could be? I generally just turn hdr on and put it at hdr 1000, not sure if it needs loads of extra steps or anything..

@@DisplayReality Hi, Sports? where is that option - thanks again
I love how this monitor has EARC, that means I can replace my very cheap TV with this monitor and still use my soundbar. but does this monitor have image upscaling for lower resolution content and does this monitor have motion interpolation (motion smoothing) like some Samsung monitors?
No smooth motion or tv like features that the Samsung version will have.
Ill check other options out
This monitor is what ive been waiting for! Soon this will be going under my 34UW
Nice! Congrats man..
@ViktorsReality I don't have one on order yet but I'll be doing so soon as the budget allows it
I guess the neo g8 has been dethroned easily.
Lol... I cant wait for that Vs video. That Ultra matte coating will surely be noticed now..
No. 🤡
I replaced my AW3423 with this and my GODit is amazing
Nice! Congrats man..
How do updates get applied to this monitor? For example, does the monitor connect to WIFI directly for over the air updates?
No wifi updates on thenmonitor. Ill update asap as soon as I know its released and no issues on it. Ill update everyone.
Seems like it’s a Dolby vision bug going on that is doing that
@@redx566 Maybe red, that's one possibility out of dozens I could come up with. I'm thinking just return it and wait for the other variations coming. Then I'll have to carry my last monitor back downstairs the 55" S90c. It was giving me a lot of eyestrain.
There is a new firmware update. Ill test asap. Everyone should update
@@DisplayReality specifically for the Dolby vision? Or the one released on February 6th?
Should I turn on console mode on this monitor when gaming on PS5? Does it change anything?
It lets you adjust saturation and hue. That may come in handy if you want more picture punch.
Do a vs video against the qd-oled ultra wide I want to know if it's worth upgrading to this 4k panel, or I might just end up adding it to the set-up
Yup... Ill have that video soon.
@@DisplayReality thanks papi
I’m still trying to learn about monitors, but why did you state in the video that you wouldn’t use hdr with creator mode? And also why choose srgb over dci-p3? Thanks and I enjoyed the review overall
Hi... I would just use standard as it has more color pop (a small bit oversaturated to a trained eye) vs creator which has more toned down accurate colors for creative purposes. It all depends on which you use on dcip3 vs srgb. I have always used srgb for content.
@@DisplayReality Oh ok I see. Thank you
I have an important update on my AW3225QF. Lol
QD OLED is the way to go in my estimate, for the time being at least. This product will not disapoint
As some have already written, I don't have good strong colors in HDR on the PS5. I updated everything... no idea what to do.
Depending on preset. Have you tried the saturation option under console mode I believe.
I would like if it was possible for you to make a fan test and a thermal test see how hot the monitor gets it is the only reason why I will not buy this monitor because it has a fan
I will do have a heat temp meter and I will record coil if any.
@ViktorsReality My main thing is that the S95B has spoiled me lol, once the monitors look like that tv and also have the bt2020 color options, IM IN!
Why You dont like 1440p? Do you play competitive games on your 4K TV? I’m wondering which AW Oled I should buy.
@@edimarrodrigrove3377 If you want the most out of this panel, I would recommend waiting for the samsung models.
do we have any kind of date (like, months not just first half of 2024) for when the DP 2.1 4k 32inch 240hz monitors may release? Eg the aorus
Just april so far I have heard
So for pc gaming in hdr do you recommend the true black 400 mode or the peak 1000?
I prefer peak 1000. But if you find it overall too dark the 400 lifts the whole image at the cost of highlights.
Bonjour maintenant à l’heure actuel quel réglage faire pour avoir la meilleur version hdr ? Merci encore
Faut il activer le hdr dans Windows 10 ou désactiver ? Avec ces réglages ? Avant un jeu faut activer dans Windows 10 le hdr ou pas besoins ? Merci par avance
Want to see a comparison between this and the MSI. Is it worth the price premium?
That 3yr burn in warranty is premium. They should be very close on screen quality.
Using srgb in HDR1000 mode makes absolutely zero sense that's why it looks washed out, HDR should always use dcip3
DCI-P3 changes the colors for sure but its not that washed. The errors can be seen on screen when changing vs other gamma settings. There is a glitch and needs to be fixed.
@@DisplayRealityWhen you swap to HDR it either emulates sRGB for non HDR content or shows DCI-P3/BT.2020 for HDR.
Will you being doing a review for the 27"
Not sure yet. It would be nice to compare vs the AW2723DF 280hz IPS...
So have you also run into the issue that it’s nearly impossible to turn off Dolby Vision? No matter what HDR mode I’ve chosen (even in dell display manager) Dolby Vision just overrides and blows everything out.
Only on pc though. Console works just as intended
Go to the Dolby vision settings and set it to off that will use hdr instead of dv
Great video Viktor, how long do you reckon we have to wait until we see 4K 360hz Qd oleds btw? 😜
@@DisplayReality Do you use any of the actual presets? Like RPG, creator, game 1, etc? Or do you use custom settings?
How is the curve compared to the 34DW? Watching the video it looks like the curve is too aggressive to me at 1600R vs 1800R with the 34DW which is the only thing that has me reconsidering this monitor. I'm not sure a curve is necessary at 32 inches.
Trust me it not curved much. I had the camera 40% vertical below the center so I did see the aggressive curve look. When I do a vs video it will not show as much. When playing on this I never noticed the curve up close.
When are you reviewing all new asus monitors
Bonjour conseille tu de l acheter pour la ps5 ?
Will you get the Asus QD OLED and Gigabyte one?
The Asus and Samsung for sure.. I just need to have the brightest version. We shall see which on wins.
The colors are so washed on my monitor. I tried doing the fix at the end of the video but it didn’t work. Hopefully this is something that will be fixed in a firmware update… so far very disappointed in this
Hello guys it seems that this monitor has some issue about compatibility with few nvidia gpu when its connect with hdmi 2.1, do you know this ?
The updates do help fix that. Its dolby vision thru hdmi. I use DP. But Ill update mine to the newest firmware and check..
@@DisplayReality im on the latest update and still issue with hdmi 2.1 on my 4090 so i use dp
why would you not keep it in DCI-P3 being QD-OLED, whole point is to take advantage of the wider color gamut no?
Just showing that specific issue as reported by others online. Specfically 2.2 gamma. It works as it should otherwise.
What r the setting I should be on if I’m only connected to my Xbox series x? I just got the monitor today
hey , which setting should i put on my ps5 , the hdr is all the time on. so i wanne know if hdr 1000 or hdr true black is better for brighter
HDR 400 is best overall. The 1000 peak give you really bright peaks but the brightness overall is dimmer.
thank you very much @@DisplayReality
Wait so you never use SDR? Always on HDR even unsupported games? İ am asking because in daily use if i activate hdr in my alienware oled 34 its really washed out in desktop use and unsuportted games and videos
This looks pretty good. I mean it depends on windows but the PC always has issues. I just prefer peak 1000
Which input is better to use with this monitor on PC? HDMI 2.1 or DP 1.4?
Use DP 1.4 and use the other ports for media or gaming devices. You should be fine.. I have it this way
@@DisplayReality that was what my gut what telling me but technically HDMI 2.1 so I wasn't sure if that made a difference
Alienware said "ppl now days use usb speakers or headsets". That is still no excuse! 3.5mm should have been here.
Do you think this monitor is better than Samsung's Odyssey Neo G7/G8?
It is clearer and HDR is really good plus it's OLED. But.. it's not as impactful in sdr and hdr modes especially in gaming. It's faster and clearer but not better just different. Many ppl have different needs. I like an impactful image and the Neos give me that.
Will you be reviewing the AW OLED 27 inch?
Not sure yet. Depends on msi release of the US. I have a aw2723df to compare so that would be good vs the AW2725df
HI! If the game not support dolby vision but monitor use it. Could be better view? Iam pre ordering MSI MPG 32URX, but if you say Dolby vision is really worth for every content I will ordering aw3225qf. Let me know please.
Dolby vision is not widely supported by many games. I will show hdr vs. Dolby vision Xbox series x soon. I say don't worry about it. The msi will be good.
@@DisplayReality I bought Alienware because i saved 400 dollar. Tax was huge in this country where MSI preordered. Thank for the help! Iam sure will be happy with AW3225QF. My wife also happy :P
i read some issues about easily having an eye strain using this monitor. do you find this true ?
I saw the same thing. I'm assuming brightness can be dimmed a bit. We are probably talking about the same review. The guy may have been sitting too close and set the brightness high. I would have brightness around 70% and have blackout curtains on the windows. No matter how they sell it, OLED is meant for dark rooms. Pushing more brightness on these products is diverting people from their optimal environment and then they complain about it being bas and overhyped.
Thats the effect of 1000nits in a dark room. Go for 400max and some light behind the monitor you will be fine.
True Black 400 is brighter vs SDR mode so that may be best fot many. HDR PEAK 1000 does have strong peak highlights. So that may hurt ppls eyes
Is there any 32" OLED with realglass finnish? Omen? Is there more
No real glass yet. Other then Doughs new glass clear screens. Thats what has been announced or previewed so far.
very nice monitor! Thanks for review! 🥇
Would this be a good upgrade to G7 Neo Odyssey? I paid £500 for the Neo so factoring in the price.

(Latest Firmware is installed)
Would be really nice if anyone can help!
Does the Asus monitor come out this month?
Prob late feb/march
Still doesnt come close to my 3 year old Asus pg32UQX hdr 1400 max highlights @ 1700 nits. With 1152 dimming zones it can bloom from time to time but HDR 1700 is crazy cool. I might still have to pick up one of these 32 inch monitors. I had the AW34 ultra wide and returned it within two weeks(way too blurry and dim) Maybe the 32 will change my mind ❤
UQX is terrible with blooming! I mean really bad! Brighter but at what cost it’s not worth it! Uniformity and dead pixels it’s a no go for me
Sería ver cómo se ve windows y la escritura en windows por la forma del pixel que tiene que tanto mejoró con la del año pasado
I wonder if the firmware fixed the the issues 9 months after.
They do have alot of updates for sure. For my use im good im on update 2.
For $1200, it should have come with more audio outputs like a headphone jack and optical out.
the other HDR modes can have a brighter full screen yes? and im coming from the PG32uqx and that HDR is still better than this:(
The HDR PEAK 1000 will be brighter at those peaks. But other modes may be lower but fuller like true black 400. Tho I tried all of them and Peak stood out vs the others. Its all preference..
