AND from how many days we should separate the male from female.

I found that out a few days ago when my lovely red eye swordtail male jumped out of my tank. I had to put tape on the cut outs at the back of the lid. He seems ok but it did give me a shock. I’m glad I was there to see it happen or he would have perished.

I don't know, but my male swordtail was aggressive to his tankmates and constantly guarding a pregnant female swordtail. He chases out the mollies and guppies.
I wouldnt keep larger livebearers like Mollies and swords together with other livebearers

Do they eat cherry shrimp? My shrimp has vanished.
Rule of thumb for all novice fish keeper. If it fits in the mouth, there is a chance it will eat it regardless of the fish behavior.

Really helpful! Any suggestions for a shallow 5gal? I built a paludarium for my dart frogs. The fruit flies that don’t get eaten end up in the water. Would one swordtail work in this set up?

Just a tip for next time, you didn't touch on water parameters. I know guppies and lollies like hard water, although they are so hardy it might not matter I know I have soft water and that why I struggled with guppies

Always keep a lid on any tank. If nothing else it slows the evaporation but it's always safer for the fish
Check Ph level, and temp. These fish are literally easier than guppies to keep.
Buying some for my planted 55 on sunday cant wait to get them home

I'm pretty sure that swordtails, guppies, platys and mollies can all crossbreed. I just had a female sword tail give birth as well as angelfish (feeding baby brine shrimp now) and my mystery snails are about the size of a pea that hatched a few weeks back.
It's very rare. Mollies and guppys. Platies and swords. Endlers and musquito fish
The list I give is all the live bearers that can interbreed
Mine has been pregnant for more then 4-6 weeks witch is the average mines 7-8 weeks now

I am having trouble with swordtails dying. They show no signs then bam they are hanging on the bottom. Can't swim right. Bodies look healthy but they are sick and then dead in one day. Water is good. I tried General cure on some and some I tried Prazipro. Nothing works. I have Platies , and Cories in the same tank. They are fine. All the swords came from one source fish store at different times. All my fish go to quarantine tank and are treated for worms ,ich and fungus before I put them in main tank. They are in Quarantine for 3 to 4 weeks. The sickness must be internal. No signs on the outside. They get sick in one day then die. They get weak and can hardly swim. About to give up on swordtails. Any suggestions please.

they dont lay eggs, id say get like a 70L aquarium or 20 gallon ( if your in the US ) swordtails will need some space as they can get stressed otherwise
I sincerely admire your ambition and enthusiasm, I can see you genuinely care about the well being of the animals in your care. however whats also quite obvious is your inexperience as a fish keeper which is certainly not a crime, but perhaps you should focus your efforts on educating yourself before teaching others. its not fair for another enthusiastic beginner to make a possibly fatal mistake that they thought they had rightfully researched but ultimately were misinformed. beautiful tanks kid, keep up the great work, just be sure of what you say

5 gallon but you can only have between 5-10, and a 10 gallon 10-15, and a 20 gallon 15-30-35, 25 gallon 35-40-45,
