Everyone keep saying it sounds better sped up but idk. I personally like it the way it is now. It gives off this fuzzy, nostalgic and nurturing type of feeling for me (I’m born in ‘96) but it still has that melancholic vibe attached to it as well. Its hard to explain but the original has more feeling to it and I kinda like it that way

They were treated badly by the press in the 70s, in Sweden in particular. Since the start of their revival with Mamma Mia etc. (from about 1999 onwards) they've been able to enjoy their popularity and success again without the acid tongue of the media. Nowadays, we can all agree that ABBA can do no wrong.

This song is just bittersweet because it reminds me of the times in school where we all had fun just being kids.
Now everyone has changed, some of them don't even remember me anymore and some i have never able to meet them again for years while some changed for not the better.
But without them, i wouldn't be the person i am now but at the same time, i wish things just stay like it was back then but I can't change the past. I can't change the direction of life they go and have to learn to let go of them.

I HAVE to wonder if this song played a part of what inspired her, if the title was meant to be tied to this song, or reference it directly. Thematically, it makes sense because the main character is known for doing exactly what the song describes... Just thought I'd put that out there. ✌

Its funny how a little sped up tempo can change how sadness is percieved
The original relatively slow tempo gives this sensation of dragging along, of nostalgia mixed with sadness as every word carries to the next one a certain heavy heart, like a weight the singer has despite keep singing it
The sped up version feels like the whole time the singer is on denial, trying to rush their sadness, just get it over with. Pay attention to how the chorus just flies by almost like if it is trying to skip itself, skip all that sadness and heavy heart that it has.
