Everyone keep saying it sounds better sped up but idk. I personally like it the way it is now. It gives off this fuzzy, nostalgic and nurturing type of feeling for me (I’m born in ‘96) but it still has that melancholic vibe attached to it as well. Its hard to explain but the original has more feeling to it and I kinda like it that way
Whenever i listen to Abba, i imagine myself in my pajamas,in my room, in the middle of the night laying on my bed because i can't sleep, looking out the windows, watching the stars, for short; Whenever i listen to Abba, i get extremely relaxed, remembering the good ol'days, no tiktok, no phones, not much of internet, just hanging out with friends, damn i can't really explain...
that time is lost now innocents , sneaking into a pub at 17 and getting served big thing asking a girl out and she saying yes, hanging round with friends no phones no internet normal, i would go back there at a heart beat , children this young generation dont know, they would be much happier back there than this reality
the magic in abba's songs are they are sad or melancholic lyrics, but each and every one is like a Christmas song vibe and feel ,that you want to dance out in group ,but truth is the lyrics hits you when you are alone.
ABBA supremacy. The best songs ever are by them. Every song from them is a bop and granted that this and other songs are still played today, tells me they’ll still be relevant in 20 years
Ye. And that's why they were so famous in their day. in those decades, fame was something bigger to achieve than today where its easier to be famous. Abba was sooo famous all across the world! It was insanr
if you have experienced such love and angelic eyes in the past.. the song evokes emotions even after many years. Even though it's gone, I still remember it with peace in my heart 😊
Me always hearing this when I was 5 cause my parents used to play this and I didn't like it cause they always replay it, not until I grow older 10 years later I listen to it and read the lyrics and hurts so bad, now I know why my parents like it cause it's such a beautiful song! I didn't know when I grow older I'll relate to this song.
This song makes me feel nostalgic. I remember going out with my cousin and her friends. And this was the song that we were singing the whole day. Sadly she moved out of town and isn't as close to them as they used to be :(
Timeless music 🎶 . Got the chance to see ABBA's museum in Stockholm, Sweden 🇸🇪 on July 2017. Will never get tired of listening to their music, I even watched Mama Mia Musical twice here in Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦.
Quite possibly one of the songs with the best intros ever recorded. Absolutely amazing! Can't find something more attractive, dancing and still melancholic somehow.
You would think so and they were very popular, but they didn't hit the height of their popularity until after the group broke up. I'm so excited that they got back together and I love the new music!
They were treated badly by the press in the 70s, in Sweden in particular. Since the start of their revival with Mamma Mia etc. (from about 1999 onwards) they've been able to enjoy their popularity and success again without the acid tongue of the media. Nowadays, we can all agree that ABBA can do no wrong.
this song gives me a mesmerizing vibes, i always keep listening this song every time i used to open instagram reel, intentionally gives me chilling so hard and also released my stress-out feeling. this song is masterpiece

This song is just bittersweet because it reminds me of the times in school where we all had fun just being kids. Now everyone has changed, some of them don't even remember me anymore and some i have never able to meet them again for years while some changed for not the better. But without them, i wouldn't be the person i am now but at the same time, i wish things just stay like it was back then but I can't change the past. I can't change the direction of life they go and have to learn to let go of them. It hurts but you know what they say, it's all history for the future now.
i couldn't for the life of me remember what this song was or any of the lyrics. and Google assistant wouldn't identify it. i remembered 3 words of the lyrics. luckily because of how distinctive their instrumentals are I knew it was an Abba song so i found it looking up Abba plus the 3 words I remembered. Thanks for being so distinctive
In 1994, Akimi Yoshida released a prequel to her famous manga "Banana Fish" -- it's also called "Angel Eyes." The events in the story take place in the early 80's, New York. There are many references to western literature, as well as many references to western pop culture throughout the series. I HAVE to wonder if this song played a part of what inspired her, if the title was meant to be tied to this song, or reference it directly. Thematically, it makes sense because the main character is known for doing exactly what the song describes... Just thought I'd put that out there. ✌

Its funny how a little sped up tempo can change how sadness is percieved The original relatively slow tempo gives this sensation of dragging along, of nostalgia mixed with sadness as every word carries to the next one a certain heavy heart, like a weight the singer has despite keep singing it The sped up version feels like the whole time the singer is on denial, trying to rush their sadness, just get it over with. Pay attention to how the chorus just flies by almost like if it is trying to skip itself, skip all that sadness and heavy heart that it has. Idk those were my two cents, ABBA makes such bangers I felt like writing this
ABBA’s “Angel Eyes” is a captivating blend of catchy melodies and poignant lyrics that beautifully captures the complexities of love and longing, evoking nostalgia in listeners. The upbeat tempo contrasts with its bittersweet themes, making it a quintessential ABBA song. Similarly, “The Winner Takes It All” delves into loss and acceptance, showcasing the raw vulnerability of heartbreak. Together, these tracks illustrate ABBA’s unique ability to resonate with our personal experiences, serving as a soundtrack to our lives and encapsulating the highs and lows of love and relationships. Their timeless music continues to evoke bittersweet memories, reminding us of our own journeys through joy and sorrow.
