Romania received its first Bayraktar TB2 UAV - Turkish defense industry - Baykar - Drone - UAV

The first delivery of the armed unmanned aerial vehicle Bayraktar TB2, developed by Baykar, was made to Romania.
Following the acceptance tests, operators trained at Baykar will start flying with Bayraktar TB2s.
The purchase of Bayraktar TB2 will contribute to the achievement of the Romanian Army's Transformation Program targets until 2040.
Romania signed a contract with a total value of approximately 321 million dollars for the purchase of 18 Bayraktar TB2s.
He signed in April 2023. Deliveries of Bayraktar TB2s will be made in June 2024, September 2024 and January 2025.
This purchase is considered an important step taken to increase Romania's defense capacity and adapt to modern warfare technologies.
Bayraktar TB2 was developed as a medium-altitude, long-endurance UAV system that can perform high altitude and long-range operations, has reconnaissance and attack capabilities. The system has an operational range of up to 150 kilometers, a continuous flight time of up to 27 hours, an altitude of up to 27 thousand feet, and the ability to perform both reconnaissance and attack missions.
Bayraktar TB2, which has proven itself internationally by being included in the inventories of many countries besides Turkey, will contribute to Romania's regional security and defense strategies.
This sales and training program once again reveals the increasing prestige and export potential of the Turkish defense industry in the international arena. Baykar continues to be a strong player in the global market with its technological innovations and customer satisfaction-oriented service approach.
Romania's addition of Bayraktar TB2 UAVs to its inventory will positively affect regional security dynamics and contribute to the further consolidation of Turkey's success in the defense industry in the international arena.
Baykar, whose technical leader is Selçuk Bayraktar, signed export contracts with 33 countries for the Bayraktar TB2 UAV. Bayraktar TB2 has the title of unmanned aerial vehicle used by the most countries.
