@@90sPunkRockCovers yes. I ordered the first one in januari but it got delayed a lot of times and i didn't have the patience anymore 😂, so i ordered another one at a different webshop who had the pedal in stock.
Dang bro I’m jealous. I got to play though one some at Sweetwater one time. I loved the sound, but it’s hard to find the one with the Dookie album art for sale.
Thanks for the great vids. I’ve been searching for this type os guitar sound for years, trying OD pedals, all tube amps and it’s really rare and unique to reproduce it. Very specific. Nice bro! Keep it up with great work… BTW I have a Mesa Nomad and I would like to know you opinion about this amp, if tou know it. Thanks man!
Awesome, glad you enjoyed the video. I have never used a Mesa Nomad amp before tho. I no longer own the pedal but it was nice to use while I had it. Definitely shines with a semi overdriven clean amp, just thickens up the pedal sound a bit more.
Thanks for the insightful video! I wanted to buy this pedal but it is unfortunately not available in my country anymore. I am really digging the Marshall-y tone. Could you suggest me another pedal which does a Marshall emulation or something?
Thanks man, glad you liked it. I haven’t tried many distortion pedals, I only own 3. I’ve heard the JHS Angry Charlie comes close to a JCM800. Maybe that one?
Thanks for the review ! I was also kind of surprised by the price at first... But considering what would cost to get a modified jcm 800 and the fact you can use it at a bedroom level contrary to a cranked marshall, well... Anyway I totally agree, mine was a sentimental and obviously compulsive purchase ! :)
@@90sPunkRockCovers Just another silly question of mine : do you think that a Boss BD-2 or a Tube Screamer would be of any help with the dookie drive to nail the dookie tone even more? Cheers
@@etyramone2000 I have never used a Boss BD-2 so I really can't help you there. A TS pedal can always help tighten things up, what amp are you using and do you mean using a TS in conjunction with the Dookie Drive?
@@90sPunkRockCovers for the moment I am using it with an emulation amp but I read somewhere that BJ used a Boss Bd-2 for the solos (soli ?) from Dookie
Hi , I’ve seen three different versions of the pedal . Apparently they’re the same with just different images on them . If you are a Green Day fan would it be logical to go for version 1 as it’s classed as the limited edition version or just pick any ? Thanks
I can't answer that for you. If all versions sound the same it doesn't matter which one you pick, it's all a matter of personal preference. V1 is more of a collectors item at this point so if you value that and want to hold on to it mostly for sentimental value or maybe for resale value in the future, then I guess I would pick that one up. If you are going to play it and enjoy it, does it really matter? Hope that helps.
Hey Brutha great video as always! I knew I could find the answer to my questions here! I know you said that you sold this pedal already but can you elaborate on how to control the gain for the Pete side if you still remember. What do you mean there are two "internal knobs"? I'm playing around with the pedal and I would love to be able to decrease the gain a bit on the Pete side but I can't figure out how. Thanks man!
Hey, Johnny. Thanks for checking out my video. The V1 of this pedal had an internal control pot/wheel to adjust the gain side of the Pete. I'm pretty sure this feature got carried on to the later versions. The more gain you dial in internally, the more it affected that side of the pedal by using the mix/gain knob. Just open up the pedal and take a look inside. Hope this helps.
I no longer have this pedal, ended up selling it. I don’t think it sounded horrible, I never bothered with the internal pots doe, they only control the amount of gain of the Pete side.
Ok, I was curious because I have three amps, I have a Blackstar mini amp, a line 6 spider classic 15 and a orange crush 12. Not the fanciest of Amps but I’m trying to figure out which one will be suitable for the pedal
Cameron Krawiec I think these pedals sound best through tube amps, doesn’t have to be an expensive one, just one with good headroom and power tube push. There are tons of affordable tube amps out there, used or new. Hope this helps.
It’s all subjective. It may make sense for someone and not for someone else. I mentioned in the video that if you have an amp that can get close to that tone then it’s really not worth it. But if you are pedal dependent and only have a clean amp then yeah, I would say its worth to try out and have on your board.
It’s all good man. This is as “clean” as this amp gets in this type of application, unless im running it straight through a live cab and pushing the power section, even then it will never sound sparkly “clean” which I’m guessing that’s your definition of a clean tone. Personally, I don’t like running dirt boxes through a super clean amp, I always like to run them with a little breakup and push from the amp itself, which is what I did here and I explained that as well. Again, this is just my personal opinion and taste, not trying to “stretch” the truth as you said. Cheers.
My opinion is that these are the best guitar videos on the web.
Shawn Sheehan chucks...im blushing 😊 haha thanks brother 🙏🏼
hell yeah
I realize it is kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to watch new series online?
@Uriel Grant Flixportal =)
@Houston Malakai Thank you, I went there and it seems like a nice service :) I appreciate it!!
Dookie is def top 5 album of all-time. Cool Gear Spot Light Waldo.
Lol, yeah I totally agree with that.
got a second gen one for 120 used in perfect condition. this thing is absolutely great

That pedal sound close to Billie Joe Sound
Yes, it gets pretty close.
@@90sPunkRockCovers i would like to compare that pedal to the Slash tone, or blend Guns N' Roses with Green Day it would be interesting.
Best video I've seen of this pedal. What were your settings at 1:23 on the pedal? That's EXACTLY the sound I'm aiming for.
Matt Davis hey Matt, glad you liked it. I think I was at 10 o clock on the Pete side, gain at Noon and Volume probably at 11-12 o clock. Thanks 🙏🏼

@@90sPunkRockCovers okay cool! Personally I’m upgrading my amp instead to a Marshall 20W valve plexi combo should be a lot better for punk haha
Nice, you can't go wrong with a Marshall!
try reviewing the setting on your gear, amp settings; how you are plugging in the pedal, cable input vs loop input, etc.
Where did you buy it?
Paulo Monteiro musicians friend
While using the pedal does the amp need to be on clean or can it have gain?
Cameron Krawiec both. I like to run mine with just a tad of amp dirt, sounds huge that way.
