I have a '16 model with 38.000 miles on it and never have any issue with the bike, it's the only bike in my garege and if you know the obvious limitations, it's a perfect bike for do almost anything. Greetings from Spain; nice place to live and ride bikes
Dan, Thanks for sharing - your bike looks great! I just picked up a '19 500EXC-f a couple of days ago. Took it out for the first time around the block today (not registered yet) and the seat got to go. Will be also getting a seats concept. It's amazing how many aftermarket parts you can get for these bikes. I also want to get a rear rack, some double take mirrors, and the trail tech voyager pro. I think the bike will have more than enough power for me so I will go very light on the engine mods. Keep posting great vids - I watch them all!
Thanks for the compliment K Dailey and congratulations on getting a 500! You are right; this bike has so many aftermarket parts it's hard to pass up the bike if you can get it. The power is enough for me too, but who knows what the future will bring. Ride safe, and thanks for watching!
"Get him killer. get him"😂😂😂😂really Dig that easy Park Pass fence opener. Like that soft luggage setup too. You really have me contemplating going smaller with the Base AT instead of the ATAS. More on that later. Thanks for sharing this video. And Yes Apple CarPlay has spoiled me as well. Damn Honda 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Very positive vibe. Our health is our real wealth Man, especially as we age. Be Well.👍👍
We really enjoy going to the parks G that's for sure. I really like this luggage setup because it allows me to have it on all kinds of motorcycles because you know... I can't seem to stay on just one lol. When it comes to the base AT I felt like it served me well. Just like I said before the seat for me was my only real complaint. Other than that it was a blast to own and ride. If I could have kept both at the time I would have. You are right on about health being our real wealth. You are a great example of what taking good care of yourself looks. Thanks for watching G and I'll be waiting to see what you come up with!
The seat made the most difference. The grips helped, but I think I finally got used to the vibration because I didn't even notice it a year after owning the bike.
Dan - Great bike and review! I have a 2021 500 Six Days...just about everything done to it possible. I love it! Your outlook on life is spot on my Brother, we need more folks in the Motorcycle Community like yourself!!! Keep it up!!! Quick question - it looks like Anakee Wilds you mounted on the bike for tires...what size did you go with?? Any feedback on them?? Tubed or Tubeless?? Thanks Man, Dave K.
Hey David, congratulations on the Six days! 90/90-21 and 120/80-18 are the tire sizes. For doing a mix of street and dirt, the tires were great. I never worried about having good grip on the pavement and for dual sport rides they still gave nice grip offroad. They were tubed. I have thought about going with mousse's since I've seen guys running them on dual sport tours and not having issues, but that will be later down the line. Have fun with the bike Dave and ride safe!
@@dantheman4life Hey there Dan! Thanks, I sure love the bike! And thank you for getting back to me SO quick. I was able to find the 90/90-21...but no luck on the 120/80-18...I will keep looking! Thanks Man!!!
3:25 "She's waiting for breakfast". She should be breakfast! On the plate beside the eggs and potatoes! 😁 Good upgrades! Yer doing it in the right order IMO. Are you thinking about a skid plate? Also with the traveling you do you might want to think about getting a locking gas cap. (just a thought)
She really should be breakfast haha! I forgot to bring that up, but yes I'm looking at skid plates also. The locking gas cap is a great idea! I do worry about folks some times so good looking out as usual Hazcat! Thanks for the tips!
Hey my friend, I just bought myself a new 500 exc-f. I heard you say you live in Texas in one of your vids. How far are you from Abilene? It would be nice to have a riding Buddy to go exploring with. Keep the vids coming. V/R Don B.
Congratulations on the new 500! I live in the Austin area. If you are ever in the area or plan on visiting let me know! I'll have to check out Abilene one day! Please join twtex.com. Great site for meeting Texas folks like us who love to ride. Thanks for watching!
Thanks my friend, I have family in the Austin area. I’m originally from San Antonio. Yes, I will definitely going that site. Like I said, it would be great to have like minded people to ride with. Thanks again & be safe out there.
The Acerbis tank went on very quickly. The entire process was straight forward. Getting the fuel pump back in took me less than 5 minutes for sure and if you have any doubts the instructions they sent were right on the money. The only thing I was worried about was the bend in the fuel line after install because it was fairly close to the engine and had a nice bend in it. What I did was rotate the fitting coming from the bottom of the tank to face the rear of the bike and trim some of the stock fuel line out to give it a more natural look with no kinks. Please let me know if you have any other questions Sander. Thanks for watching!

Hey Dan I feel you on the vibration, did the new grips help any along with the seat?
The seat made the most difference. The grips helped, but I think I finally got used to the vibration because I didn't even notice it a year after owning the bike.

The cyclops led from slavens and a couple others is a substantial improvement for $110
Thanks for point that out Ben. That is another thing that will need to be replaced that's for sure. Thanks for watching!

Did you ever figure out your range with that tank?
With a full tank and taking it easy I'd say 200 miles. I think a safer range would be closer to 170-180ish.
How tall are you? I'm 5'10 32 inch inseam. is this bike super tall? I'm on a CRF300L
I'm 6'2" with a 32 inch inseam.
Dan was the larger fuel tank a smooth install?

@@dantheman4life thanks for the info Dan, the 500 looks awesome! Smart mods.
There ain’t no way that this guy just said ride with the ear plugs in
I sure did.
you gotta get rid of those horrid mirrors !
Haha I'll see what I can do. Thanks for watching Gary!
