WALL·Es Channel I feel like it's not just WM audience that doesn't care about classic Hollywood film, but my whole entire generation. And not just classic film, but history or anything to do with the past. Kinda of a shame because without these films we wouldn't have the the films we have today.
I'm honestly surprised the movie "An Affair To Remember" wasn't on this list. I only saw it last year but that movie made me cry at the end with how great it was. A tragic romance that both helps and hurts the two people in it and an ending that would bring any theater goer to tears.
gwtw99 I think this is gonna be a series, so maybe there'll be Best Romantic Movies of the 1910's-1930's? Idk why they would've done this video first, but it's possible. Or it might be on Best Romantic Movies of All Time?? It certainly deserves to!
"The Graduate" is a social satire and the movie version of "My Fair Lady" is far more about companionship than romance. No mention though of "Random Harvest", "Now, Voyager", "Dark Victory", "Sunday in the park", "Pillow talk", "An Affair To Remember", "The African Queen", "The Shop Around The Corner", "Camille" or "Gigi"?
The movies you mentioned are better than the majority of the movies mentioned in the the video. Thank you for the recommendations I will give them a watch.
In my opinion : 1) Casablanca (1942) 2) West Side Story (1961) 3) The Philadelphia story (1940) 4) Singin in the rain (1952) 5) Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) 6) From here to eternity (1953) 7) Roman Holiday (1953) 8) Doctor Zhivago (1965) 9) Brief Encounter (1945) 10) The Graduate (1967) Honorable mentions : * The Apartment (1960) * It happened one night (1934) * The umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) * Pillow Talk (1959) * Marty (1955)
From Here to Eternity; The Sound of Music; Now, Voyager; The King and I; South Pacific; Notorious; Rebecca; The Shop Around the Corner; An Affair to Remember There are so many great romance movies from that time span that it's impossible to grab them all. Audrey Hepburn is great, but you could have tossed one of her flicks out (the fantastic My Fair Lady). The movie with arguably the most romantic scene ever is missing - Deborah Kerr and Burt Lancaster kissing in the Hawaiian surf, in From Here to Eternity - a movie which holds up surprisingly well.
Jaylin Guerrero They're missing a lot here. Not one Hepburn-Tracy movie is featured in this list (hello, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?). Now, Voyager should also be a strong contender. And I fail to see how Singin in the Rain is romantic. The love affair between Kelly & Reynolds characters was more of a side story.
1. Brief Encounter 2. Casablanca 3. The Apartment 4. Manhattan 5. Marty 6. Breakfast at Tiffany's 7. The Graduate 8. Roman Holiday 9. A Matter of Life and Death 10. Sabrina
A Place in the Sun should have definitely been on this list. One of the most famous kisses in movies and a beautiful story and 2 talented and beautiful actors giving amazing performances. Should have been here. You
Should have had more Cary Grant movies. He was the epitome of romance. The saying back then was "Every woman wanted to be with Cary Grant and every man wanted to be him."
Two of the greatest films of one of the greatest directors ever, David Lean, back to back on this list ("Brief Encounter" and "Doctor Zhivago" and his name isn't even mentioned. Nice.
hoimoitoigoi they have already done too broad top 10s such as top movies per decade, top 10 songs per decade, top 10 musical artists per decade, considering that for every good female character there are like 5 good male characters I dont think that top 10 would be too broad
I agree with the majority of the list however a movie that's missing would have to be Gone with the Wind... how that movie did not make it onto the list is mind-boggling
Marty is an absolute favorite of mine, because it’s such a down-to-earth, slice-of-life kind of film about a man who thinks he’s a loser who suddenly stands up for himself and finds someone who makes him happy and he makes her happy too. Romance films about people who’re lonely and miserable suddenly finding love does give me a warm feeling that anyone can find love and happiness in their lives. You just gotta learn to love yourself first.
Let's face it, both The Apartment and Some Like It Hot are far better films than My Fair Lady, as well as being more romantic. I mean, Professor Higgins and Eliza don't even kiss. There were already two Audrey Hepburn films on the list; show some love for Billy Wilder!
Not a bad Top Ten, but perhaps you should consider making a second video. Start with: In the Good Ol' Summertime, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Portrait of Jennie, The Bishop's Wife, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Quiet Man, An Affair to Remember, The Shop Around the Corner, The Sound of Music, Gone with the Wind, etc.
The Graduate is one of my favorite movies of all-time... and it is horribly out of place on this list. This is a cynical movie about growing up, not a damn romance!
"The Graduate"?! Are you crazy?! That is a quintessential anti-romance film! Did no one see "500 Days of Summer"?! Should've done either "Marty" or "The Apartment." THOSE are great love stories! Also, while Audrey Hepburn made many great romantic films, her films should've been limited to 1 or 2 or given a list of her own. Overall, the list was better than I expected, considering not very many people are very familiar with classic films.
Breakfast at Tiffany is best romantic movie...Audrey Hepurn made it just so romantic with her so cute face and slim figure and so sexy voice...actress best of century...
Aubrey Hepburn ruled this lol
princesskagome100 she rules all
Love in the Afternoon.
Roman holiday is one of my favorite movies of all time. Audrey is my all time fav.
Yes, have long loved it. Another good one, Love in the Afternoon.
ME TOO
I saw Audrey Hepburn and immediatley was happy.
Love in the Afternoon.
MORE CLASSIC MOVIE TOP 10'S PLEASE!!!
WALL·Es Channel I feel like it's not just WM audience that doesn't care about classic Hollywood film, but my whole entire generation. And not just classic film, but history or anything to do with the past. Kinda of a shame because without these films we wouldn't have the the films we have today.
@@tsxtina2919 ...yeah. I hate this generation every second.
I'm a simple man, I see Audrey I click.

I'm a simple guy... I see her, I click.
Robin Harley I am a simple girl then
+Yudit Potato And that is no crime.
Love in the Afternoon.
Audrey Hepburn my QUEEN
watch anything absolutely!! She is absolutely stunning and gorgeous
I'm honestly surprised the movie "An Affair To Remember" wasn't on this list. I only saw it last year but that movie made me cry at the end with how great it was. A tragic romance that both helps and hurts the two people in it and an ending that would bring any theater goer to tears.
Gone WIth The Wind ? come on... it was only 1939 !
gwtw99 but really ? I dont get it, this love story is ... Just Not a love story x)
it's not because it doesn't end like most of the romantic movies that it's not a love story... but I understand what you mean ;)
gwtw99 I think this is gonna be a series, so maybe there'll be Best Romantic Movies of the 1910's-1930's? Idk why they would've done this video first, but it's possible. Or it might be on Best Romantic Movies of All Time?? It certainly deserves to!
I don't think there will be an 1910's-1930's video, but I'm sure it will be in the Best Romantic Movies of All Time ... if they make such a video
It should have made 1930s-1960s
Should have started with 1930s, so the greatest romance movie of all time could be in the list: Gone with the wind
Cristiane Neves could'nt agree more,Gone with the wind is a masterpiece
Breakfast at tiffanys is not high enough :(
But 3 audrey hepburn movies? Yassss ❤️
4! Love in the Afternoon.
The Shop Around the Corner is another good one! Also staring James Stewart!
One of my favorites.
I loved that one! they remade it in the 80s with Tom Hanks' "You got mail"
I LOVE this one
An Affair to Remember should have at least been an honorable mention ❤️🎥
Gosh! I'll forever have a huge crush on Audrey Hepburn.
No Random Harvest, no African Queen? Okay, I guess I needn't bother with this list.
The movies you mentioned are better than the majority of the movies mentioned in the the video. Thank you for the recommendations I will give them a watch.
I looove breakfast at Tiffanys😍😍😍
I love west side story😍😍😍😍
I love breakfast at Tiffany's!
Gone with the wind one of the iconic movies
Casablanca remains the most magnificent cinematic masterpiece
.
I love Audrey Hepburn.she the best.😁
I love Audrey Hepburn :)
Love in the Afternoon.
Casablanca is gold. btw why no Elizabeth Taylor movies? 😡
Breakfast at Tiffany’s is the best movie of all time!! 💋
In my opinion :
1) Casablanca (1942)
2) West Side Story (1961)
3) The Philadelphia story (1940)
4) Singin in the rain (1952)
5) Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)

7) Roman Holiday (1953)
8) Doctor Zhivago (1965)
9) Brief Encounter (1945)
10) The Graduate (1967)
Honorable mentions :
* The Apartment (1960)
* It happened one night (1934)
* The umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964)
* Pillow Talk (1959)
* Marty (1955)
Charades?
I have only seen 4 out of your 14,,,let me see the others
Yes!! My family member named his daughter Ingrid after Ingrid Bergman. My favorite movie of Humphrey. 😍
Where is Sabrina?
I love the old one and the new one!
Audrey and Casablanca... my kinda list ❤
From Here to Eternity; The Sound of Music; Now, Voyager; The King and I; South Pacific; Notorious; Rebecca; The Shop Around the Corner; An Affair to Remember
There are so many great romance movies from that time span that it's impossible to grab them all.
From here to eternity is as far as I'm concerned much like Casablance, everyone cast perfectly, every scene works.
Vivien Leigh and Robert Taylor in "Waterloo Bridge" trumps them all!
Where is the Sound of Music??
Now, Voyager and An Affair to Remember also belong on this list!!!!
audrey hepburn queen of the damn universe
Cinderella (1950)
Sleeping Beauty (1959)
Nah
An affair to remember? Come on that's a good one
This is one of my favorite movies
1. Brief Encounter
2. Casablanca
3. The Apartment
4. Manhattan
5. Marty
6. Breakfast at Tiffany's
7. The Graduate
8. Roman Holiday
9. A Matter of Life and Death
10. Sabrina
This was a great list. But Marty and The Apartment should have been more than honorable mentions. Those are two of my all time favorite movies.
The Apartment all day every day.
No An affair to remember? I mean come on!!
Should’ve been #2
Agree
Thank you!
A Place in the Sun should have definitely been on this list. One of the most famous kisses in movies and a beautiful story and 2 talented and beautiful actors giving amazing performances. Should have been here. You
Should have had more Cary Grant movies. He was the epitome of romance. The saying back then was "Every woman wanted to be with Cary Grant and every man wanted to be him."
some guys wanted to be with him, and cary loved guys.
True... I wondered the same... how come just one Cary Grant movie on the list??!! :(
They should have included the 1968 Romeo and Juliet film.
Two of the greatest films of one of the greatest directors ever, David Lean, back to back on this list ("Brief Encounter" and "Doctor Zhivago" and his name isn't even mentioned. Nice.
some like it hot and the apartment are my favorite movies of all time
8:17 Rip Debbie Reynolds
10:58 these movies were my childhood and the scene where she transformed always was my favorite 😍
Heck yeah I agree. If Casablanca is #1, the list is correct
Great video! Keep the names on as long as you explain the videos.
this channel has more than 1 year and you still havent done a top 10 female characters per decade, still waiting
hoimoitoigoi they have already done too broad top 10s such as top movies per decade, top 10 songs per decade, top 10 musical artists per decade, considering that for every good female character there are like 5 good male characters I dont think that top 10 would be too broad
The Sound of Music?
Now, Voyager?
From Here to Eternity?
Romeo and Juliet?
Room at the Top?
Thank you. I love these kind of movies
No Romeo and Juliet (Franco Zeffirelli, 1968)?
Rowan J Because the title states 1940s to 1960s movies only maybe? Just a thought...
1968 is in the 1960s...
You expected a foreign movie in a watchmojo list
@@cyriellej3319 yes!
I loved number 6 that movie was amazing and awesome :D
I agree with the majority of the list however a movie that's missing would have to be Gone with the Wind...
how that movie did not make it onto the list is mind-boggling
It's from 1939
yes !! that's awful !
not very romantic
God I love Audrey 🖤🖤
Gilda should've been on this list
Audrey Hepburn slay my life
Nice to see how Audrey Hepburn rocks this list! 🤘😚
I wish It Had to Be You was on here. not much people heard about it but its a really quirky romantic comedy from 1944
Yes, that is a great film! Judy Holliday and Jack Lemmon are adorable together!
where is Now, Voyager???
Very good choice!
that is very good but you should have started from the 20´s and 30´s like Sunrise o It Happend One Night..
An affair to remember is missing from the list
It's tragic that they left out "An Affair to Remember."
Marilyn Monroe movies should have been on this list.
Rebecca Kirkland Yes they should have
Marty is an absolute favorite of mine, because it’s such a down-to-earth, slice-of-life kind of film about a man who thinks he’s a loser who suddenly stands up for himself and finds someone who makes him happy and he makes her happy too. Romance films about people who’re lonely and miserable suddenly finding love does give me a warm feeling that anyone can find love and happiness in their lives. Casablanca is just
Now, Voyager.
Let's face it, both The Apartment and Some Like It Hot are far better films than My Fair Lady, as well as being more romantic. I mean, Professor Higgins and Eliza don't even kiss. There were already two Audrey Hepburn films on the list; show some love for Billy Wilder!
The apartment was pretty good
how is the graduate a romantic movie. it really isn't
100% agree with you!
Casablanca no competition 😭
West Side Story is my all time favourite
Could you do top ten musicals of different decades?
why were the 30s excluded?!?!?
I know right? It Happened One Night & The Awful Truth are a couple of great movies.
We're lucky they went back as far as the '40's. Or the '60's for that matter. The majority of the time they ignore anything before 1970.
I have seen all these movies on this list. I loved every one of them
I love Casablanca I knew it had to make it on this list!
Why isn't A Patch of Blue on this list?
Audrey hepburn is dominating this list lol
The Graduate is one of my favorite movies of all-time... and it is horribly out of place on this list. This is a cynical movie about growing up, not a damn romance!
Magnificent Obsession... this movie is wonderful! So many twist.
An Affair to Remember
Franco Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet!!!!!
Can someone tell me where the fuck It's A Wonderful Life is?
lol.. love the pronunciation of George Peppard... lol..
sound of music? sure it was about more than just love, but romance was a big part of it
OKAY I KNOW IT CAME OUT IN 1939 BUT GONE WITH THE WIND PEOPLE
What about An Affair to Remember!!!
Check out magnificent obsession
"The Graduate"?! Are you crazy?! That is a quintessential anti-romance film! Did no one see "500 Days of Summer"?! Should've done either "Marty" or "The Apartment." THOSE are great love stories!

Love in the Afternoon.
You put these three decades in one video?! Can we please have a separate video for each decade please?
Dr. Zhivago 😭❤ I love the book
they fucking forgot an affair to remember😡
Tron201985 ugh probably because it sucks
from here to eternity??
Breakfast at Tiffany is best romantic movie...Audrey Hepurn made it just so romantic with her so cute face and slim figure and so sexy voice...actress best of century...
Billy Wilder only mentioned, not a clue about Lubitsch... Laughtable.
Some of these shouldn't be classified as romance movies like Casablanca and My Fair Lady.
Romeo and Juliet ?
Breakfast at Tiffany's ahould be #1, at least 3rd highest
Romance doesn't equal happy endings :)
Ingrid Bergman it's like her entire face pouts
The Quiet man
