Jack was a stunner beautiful colours, the teacher that passed away would be so grateful for taking care of him, love the story about him and your adventure 👍🏼
I’m sorry for your loss. I owe my tank set up entirely to you and your tank. I got a 75 for Christmas. A JD, GT& Firemouth. Dark substrate. Thank you for your amazing UA-cam channel. I appreciate you guys. I have a few UA-cam shorts of my tank. S.I.P. Jack!
RIP Jack! Quinn, it was a science teacher who ignited my interest in the hobby, and cichlids 30 years ago. UA-cam brought me back to the hobby over 3 years ago. I have to believe you are inspiring the next generation of hobbyists. Thanks for what you do in the classroom and for what all “the bros” do on this channel!!!
S.I.P jack one of the most beautiful jacks ever. In tribute of jacks passing im gonna name my jack dempsey jack. I also have another jack that im gonna let you name him.
Awesome tribute video. I remember seeing your jack for the first time and asking what kind of fish he was. My interest was your green terror but when I saw him swim by your jack I told myself I'm putting those two together also in my tank.
So sorry to hear about your loss! Joker, the female convict and now your OG Jack. Dempsey’s are my all time favorite cichlid as well. Happy Trails Jack..RIP
Dam I’m sorry my bro…I’ve been following you guys since the beginning and I do have to say that your Jack and Green Terror are the fish that got me to switch over from Africans to South and Central American Cichlids. Jack was definitely a legend and to be honest I’m toying with the idea of using my now empty 90 gallon to house a Jack and Green Terror ? Sorry about the loss and even though it’s part of the hobby it really sucks to loose such an amazing fish🙏🏻
Sorry for your loss. R.I.P. Jack💪🏾 you guys have helped me in more ways than you know with ya'll videos. Thanks for everything ya'll post. I've also been in the hobby since I was a kid because of my father and oldest brother, yet i still learn something new every.
Sorry for the loss brother Quin..you rescued him and gave him a Happy life..He along with Joker and Nessy are the stars of the channel forever.❤😊 S.I.P Jack
So sorry for your loss- but it’s clear this video is about gratitude for all that Jack gave you, your brothers, and your students. Watching your videos also helped inspire me to start our high school library tank- so Jack’s legacy continues with your viewers! SIP Jack!
I am so sorry to hear about Jack! I was also inspired by Jack to get my own Jack Dempsey (named Aldo) and he is by far my favorite fish I have had. This video made me tear up. Thank you to Jack and to Cichlid Bros for all you do to inspire those of us in this amazing hobby!
RIP Jack. I also had an old Jack Dempsey that lived his days out in a community tank of gentle fishes. He was completely peaceful with his community tank mates and he also died of natural causes in the end. I had six tanks at the time and was completely hooked on the hobby. I am now in recovery - lol
What a fantastic tribute and I love hearing the story of the birth of Cichlid Bros. Cichlid bros was my inspiration to get into Cichlid keeping so Jack indirectly created my love of the Hobby. In November I took over the family 36 gallon my wife wanted to get rid of. I now have the 36 gallon, 20 gallon (pair of Kribs), 90 gallon (South American Cichlids), 75 gallon (African Cichlids) and now a 5 gallon betta tank. I cracked up when you used to term multiple tank syndrome. I have that and do not see a cure in my future. I very much enjoyed this video.
Just came across yall recently. I was out of the hobby for years after losing everything in a house fire back in 2014. I've dipped back in and have 3 tanks currently. At the time of the fire I had 8 aquariums with various fish. It stinks when you lose a fish, they become family like cat's, dogs etc. I had Jack Dempsey also named Jack when I was a kid, loved that fish. He was the coolest, and he was my buddy. Seeing your videos with your Jack has made me want to get a huge tank and get another JD. RIP Jack and thanks for sharing him with us.
A truly beautiful fish. I was reminded of him when I saw a tank of babies this weekend at the fish store. Someday I hope to have a tank big enough for one.
I am so sorry to hear this. My Jack Dempsey named Titan is approaching 3 years old and he is 9 inches long. I have him in a 75 gallon tank. Dempseys are my favorite fish. RIP Jack. I hope my Titan lives as long as he did.
Sorry for your loss! I grew up raising jack dempseys. My favorite fish period. I have a mating pair now, and going on my 5th brood soon. I also kept one from the first brood! I love the fish:)
I have always loved the natural chiclids, rather than the Electric this, and the Hybrid that. A natural Jack Dempsey has always been a favorite since I started the hobby back in the late 60's early 70's. The color in yours was outstandingly beautiful! Sorry to hear but it sounds like he had a long and well cared for life and was actually given a second chance at life. So he gave back in the only way her could. S.I.P.
I have my first ever jack dempsey living in a 75 gallon with a huge green eared sunfish! 😅Sounds crazy but they live in harmony quite well. I also have black sand and painted the aquarium back black so it’s a really dark and natural looking aquarium which makes the dempsey’s colors POP!
@@CichlidBros is 1 jack,1 firemouth,1 convict, 3 rainbows, 1 ebc too many fish for a 55 gallon tank, and if so what do recommend being taking out for it to work long term
I really like your classroom aquariums, but you definitely need a nice home aquarium. Perhaps Troy can help make it happen once he’s done with his massive plywood aquarium project.
yesterday i lost the fish that got me into the hobby. i want to think that he passed due to old age. but he was only 5 and it was unexpected and i feel cconflicted.. gonna miss the guy.
Sorry for your loss I picked up aJD about six months ago at about 2 inches he's doing good except he's getting a nukal hump on his head.Maybe some other breed? I don't see anyone else with aJD that.
I have 2 dempsey that grew fast, but my convict and my fire mouth seem to be growing slowly. I have them in a 75 gallon. I feed frozen food every day. Should I switch to pellets? I also have 2 oscars and a Texas cichlid in that tanks as well
SIP Jack! Great fish great journey
Sorry to hear. It’s always had to lose a fish regardless of the circumstances.
Man sorry about Jack.. I lost a Frontosa I had for 22 years and it was not a happy time. Thanks for sharing and of course get another. Kc
Omg that’s so sad I’m sorry to hear that
Rest in peace Jack! Sorry brother!
Thanks Mike!
Rest in Peace Jack ..
Always tough to lose a fish after so many years of time & effort caring for it. Jack was definitely a good one.
Swim easy my guy. 🤙🏼
I’m so sorry ❤❤❤❤😢
Jack was my favorite celebrity fish 😭
What an Awesome fish, well done you for giving him a long and healthy life.
I can understand the feeling of this as I too lost my fish just recently. RIP Jackie
Awww sorry to hear about Jack my boys are getting old to and I’m dreading that day 😢
REST IN PEACE JACK
Some people don't understand how much a fish can mean and how awesome their personalities can be

Great video on the life of Jack and how the Cichlids bros was formed. RIP Jack
Congrats to give this cichlid a nicer live than a 20 gallon prisoner....He appreciate it with beautiful colour and awesome behavior
Cool story Quinn! It’s funny in fish keeping how a certain fish can be more of a pet than a hobby. This makes me want to get a Jack Dempsey !
Thank you, and I’d highly recommend it!

Although unfortunate, what a Great story. RIP Jack🐟

My Jack D (Jeffrey Dahmer) is my favorite fish. Still kicking at about 5 inches in a tank with wild bluegill and a baby bass. Amazing species.
Question? I have a mating pair in a 75g. I have high flow water throughout the tank. Is that ok?
I have 2 dempsey that grew fast, but my convict and my fire mouth seem to be growing slowly. I have them in a 75 gallon. I feed frozen food every day. Should I switch to pellets? I also have 2 oscars and a Texas cichlid in that tanks as well
Whats the other name for my other Jack Dempsey
?
My favourite firemouth cichlid died 1.5 years ago. Jumped out of the tank. 😭
Sorry to hear!
