happy thanksgiving, friend! ah, the outlaw bookseller is all sorts of awesome. i've picked up a couple of the new york review books myself. not had time to read them but they are on my tbr list. i'm hopefu i will like them. there's always something to appreciate from stories the outlaw bookseller recommends. amirite? charles dickens books are very soap opera- like. nothing wrong with that! i like books that immerse you in the lives of its characters. it's why i'm finding thomas m disch's stuff so good. gentle reminder: read on wings of songs when you get a chance. i'm eager to know what you think of it 100 years of solitude? yes! this is simply THE best latin american book. what a treat awaits you! thanks, as always, for more too much coffee man oh, dear. it's time for thanksgiving dinner at my brother's place. take care and until next time.... cheers 🥝🥝🥝
Happy thanksgiving friend Your right about the outlaw book seller every video he makes I learn something about a book I already own or about a book I never even knew existed lol I’m trying to get to all my books and from what I read of disch im eager to get to “wings”, but I decided to get to the southern reach trilogy first to go with lord of the rings! I’m excited but book club books gotta come first. I love my soap operas and loved 100 years of solitude, I can see how other books I read is just trying to copy it 😳 Hope you had a good thanksgiving , until next time 🍏🍏🍏
I just looked it up and it sounds interesting, killing kids for shoes and profits. I’ll keep an eye out for it but it being 336 p makes me have doubts lol
I honestly thought cormac McCarthy’s use of the N word was a stylistic choice given the setting of his work.....didn't know he was also getting with teenagers..
In “No Country” he only uses that word once, and I felt it wasn’t necessary but I do hear he used it a lot in blood meridian which was used a lot in that time? As for the teenage GF, I wasn’t surprised. I always saw him as an old school “I’m a manly man” writer so I’ll still read his books

In the world of 'Jennifer Government' by Max Barry people take the last names of brands. Now there is a coincidence.
