      It made me laugh at first, but then I realised it didn't make any sense because they are implying circumcision is a gendered thing whereas buying a child a truck vs a barbie doll is not... But somebody identifying as non-binary or female could have a circumcision so that's not a gendered thing.... Then at the end they tell the woman "it's perfectly okay to continue performing the gender you feel most comfortable with" and she says (paraphrased) "great, I will do that because I love my long hair, pink and heels" so they contradict themselves by saying these actually ARE gendered things. Makes no sense.

      dackjanielsmeup about the first part the implication is that by her the sex of the baby she is assigning the gender based on that.
      And secondly, she is saying that she likes traits that are generally assumed as feminine, so the point is just because you are aware that some characteristics are defined as feminine or masculine you dont have to shun them to make a point. It just so happens that her "choice" matches what the societal perception of femininity is and that is okay.

    I love the simplicity of the lessons in this. They're simple examples yet have so much depth to them because they're things people normally skim over when addressing these problems. The little things add up, they're what builds the foundation for how we view something or how we see it in/for ourselves. (What's 'ok' and what's 'not ok') Especially young people who are just being introduced to the idea that other options DO exist. so I greatly appreciate the mustache, razor, etc lessons you guys have in this, it makes room for bigger topics to evolve from a seemingly lesser conversation, which is a great way to get someone not as aware or against the topic to learn from it because they don't already have a base opinion before it even starts, if you just open the conversation with razors for example, instead of maybe gender based bathrooms or something greater. Much love, keep being doing what you're doing ladies, it takes one person to spark a fire in another who will follow the flame. Let that fire grow till all can see it! :)

    I've always felt weird about my gender. Because biogically I'm female but I've always felt more masculine but I don't necessarily want a penis. Like, it flatters me when people misunderstand me for a man (because I'm androgynous) but I still don't want to become one because I love having boobs and vagina ? Idk if it makes any sense lol I just like to look physically more masculine without being a man and people around me never really understood that. They think I can either completely be a girl or be a trans.

    • @lovingweirdo4727
      @lovingweirdo4727 5 років тому

      @@markfcoble No, that's not it. Even if you think gender and sex are the same thing (which they are not, by definition, and as people like you love to say "facts don't care about your feelings") there would be more than two genders because there are intersex people that were born a mix of male and female.
      Why do you care so much anyways? Isn't it a person's individual choice how they wanna be addressed and what they wanna wear, say, do, whom they wanna be with. All of these life choices have nothing to do with you. As long as nobody gets hurt, why can't you just leave them alone?

    • @markfcoble
      @markfcoble 5 років тому

      @@lovingweirdo4727 Yes, please address me as king aardvark. (Because, you know, that is how I identify even if it makes NO sense) Gender confused persons project upon everyone they see...almost. Don't dare call a person who has breasts and looks like a woman miss or madam or anything that implies being female! Why are people so obsessed with their gender?
      Oh, sure, intersex....like .03 of the population and I have to be careful of misgendering some obese freak with blue hair? Nope, I'll start calling them "it". Yeah, that isn't rude or is it? Do we have to ask each person we meet what gender they "think" they are?

    • @lovingweirdo4727
      @lovingweirdo4727 5 років тому

      @@markfcoble The better question is why are you so obsessed with other people's genders? It doesn't affect you, nobody gets hurt. Just avoid nb peeps if you don't like them.
      Gender is defined as being a social and cultural construct, sex is biological. That's why it's not the same and you can choose what parts you identify with. Your "King aardvark" example is a bit different than that. I think you know that.
      Yes, intersex isn't common (1.7%), but I just wanted to point out that not even sex is 100% binary.
      I have no clue what obesity and hair colour have to do with this.
      Usually, if you misgender someone they will simply correct you, you don't need to worry about that too much.
      Why would you call anyone "it" when there is a gender neutral term and you know it's rude?
      No, I don't think you have to ask everyone. You can if you want to make it easier for nb people, but as I said mostly if you misgender somebody they'll just correct you and carry on.
      Please explain to me why it matters to you, because I don't get it.

    • @markfcoble
      @markfcoble 5 років тому

      @@lovingweirdo4727 People want to be freaky and then get upset when you acknowledge it. Yes, there are norms, right? Or is it anything goes as long as it feels good and no one gets hurt? So is it ok for a man, who identifies as woman, to go to the restroom with your 8 year old daughter? These are the kind of issues that gender confused folks push....they want to do what ever they want, when ever they want no matter the accepted norms. I am guessing being normal is now forbidden. I'm also guessing the very word normal triggers folks to run to their safe spaces. Just tired of seeing freaks pushing their agenda of normalcy when it is not normal to look like man and claim to be woman.
      Are you OK with men, who think they are women, competing against biological women and winning? That is one example of something being so very wrong. At least to "NORMAL" people. Ask the women how they feel racing against men who claim they are female.
      I liked "tom" boys. Remember that term? As I recall the girls I knew had no objection to that term but now? Oh, boy! Whoops, said boy. See how ridiculous it becomes when you have to adjust for the gender confused? I never took offense when a woman called me "sweetie" or "sugar" or any other non male terms. But today some soy boy would be triggered big time. These weak minded fools are harming society as they are making being a sissy a good thing. Then they complaint about being victim....of course.
      Keep the gender confused folks out of making laws. There are only two sexes, male and female...except for the very few born with both.
      You did not address me as king aardvark....why? Silly isn't it? I am running to my safe space, the cigar club. Thanks for your reply.

    What’s wrong with asking a baby’s gender? Is it just that gender is the wrong word, or is it deeper than that?

    • @saoirsecameron
      @saoirsecameron 6 років тому +3

      SidV101 why do you need to know? Are you asking about their genitals? That’s rather innapropriate and rather irrelevant. Are you asking about what role they will take in society? Little premature considering their brain still doesn’t have a concept of self let alone identity.
      Unless you are a medical professional or a caregiver I can’t imagine there being a situation where you need to know.

    • @SidV101
      @SidV101 6 років тому +3

      Cameron McCoy “why do you need to know” of course I don’t *need* to know. People ask because they’re curious and because it seems like a harmless question. The baby isn’t going to be offended, I promise.
      “Are you asking about the role they will take in society” - kind of, I’m asking about what they might be like when they grow up. Speculation about what the kid might be like is one of the more interesting topics to discuss about a baby. “Oh it’s a girl? I wonder if they’ll be a skier like their mom”, “I wonder if they’ll have their dad’s sense of humor”, etc.

    • @saoirsecameron

      "I wonder if *they'll* be a skier like *their* mom. I wonder if *they'll* have *their* dad's sense of humor"

      Also, +gjaddajg who said I was mad? r u mad?

    • @SidV101
      @SidV101 6 років тому +1

      Cameron McCoy “By all means keep speculating” but not about gender? Seriously, why not?

    • @saoirsecameron
      @saoirsecameron 6 років тому +2

      SidV101 I guess I feel that some things are just too private to speculate about publicly. I wouldn’t ever ask you about your genitalia, kinks, medical procedures you have or haven’t had, weight/diet, age, disability/mental health, personal traumas unless you decided to share those things with me of your own volition. I tend to include gender in that category. Most people don’t view it as a big deal because it’s not a big deal to them, but it is to a lot of people. When in doubt I like to err on the side of empathy.

    Well I’m pretty sure that men’s razors are made out of a different material than women’s because men’s razors are typically used on the face while woman’s are used on legs and the skin on those two body parts are completely different. It would make sense that there’d be some price difference.

    WHY ISNT THIS REAL!? Why is this not the universe in which these two perfect icons review my decade by decade life performance? Where else can I possibly get omniscient praise and constructive criticism? Ugh y’all are some A level life teases

    Ahahah would have been even more hilarious ,if the secretary was Alison :D and Gaby would have fired her and than afterwards we get JBU topic, why did Gaby fire me. I know it is a totally different channel, but I can't have enough of you two and we need more collabs with Alexis on JBU. Love you girls

    Fucking great... Thank you so much you three for making a non gendered non labelled, nonbinary related video, that shows very simply how we're all just human. I can tell you as a nonbinary human it means a lot that people are taking the time to create videos like this now. Hopefully the world is changing for the better. And thank you for using your platform in such a way... After seeing some hateful nonbinary videos in youtube today that made me feel down, this has restored some of my faith in humanity 😊😀👍

    Personally I think that there are two genders, and people started using the word “gender” incorrectly to describe what they feel, not what they are. I would describe myself as an equalist, as I believe that both men and women are equal.
