Absolutely! Labuan Bajo is a wonderful place to visit, and a great place to start a Flores Island adventure!
Hi Jonathan and Kelly, I dived and saw the komodo dragons when I stayed in Labuan Bajo 2014 and 2016 and I plan to go back, from your video I see it's changed a lot since then. There is a fish market with night markets selling cheap local food. The tourist restaurants all had fresh seafood including the 3 Italian eateries. This town is different to Bali because the tourists come to dive the world class reefs and visit Komodo national Park.
There are luxury resorts but staying in town is very interesting and enough to explore if you are staying for a week! Jim
Hi Jim! I totally agree that Flores (Labuan Bajo) has a different vibe then Bali. To me, it seemed less touristy (despite the Starbucks and KFC 😆). There was more of a "small town" feel in Labuan Bajo. Despite Covid, there was a considerable amount of new construction. On our next time through, we'll have to check out the fish and night market! Our upcoming videos will highlight our 3-night liveaboard, Komodo, and an epic road trip across Flores Island!
Labuan Bajo is one of 5 priority destination in Indonesia which are developed to become Indonesia next international tourist hub and exclusive destination. Initially in 2023 LB will be Host Annual Meeting of G20, but due to Indonesian Presidency in G20 move to 2022 the meeting will be held in Bali. There area many development in LB and one of them is visitor platform in Rinca Island. Labuan Bajo also now has many luxury hotels and more to come in the future. So travel to Labuan Bajo will not cheap anymore in the future but the experience will be better.. he..he.

Looks like Labuan Bajo ready for a bunch of tourist next time. So many renovation whic is so good for tourism, we know that Labuan Bajo is one of the raw adventour destination before.
We loved the small town feel of Lanuan Bajo. People will really love visiting here. It's a great launching pad for Komodo and all of Flores Island.

Wow there so much different. Back when I travel in 2016, the building is more less. I’m glad Labuan Bajo now more like modern or similar place like Bali
Labuan Bajo was a great place to visit! You can tell that there has been a big effort to develop LB. The infrastructure was very good in LB. It would have been cool to see it back in 2016!

Absolutely! Labuan Bajo is a great city. It has a very cool small town feel.
Wow, I cannot believe the growth. I worked a season on a boat in 2011. The road was still dirt. I went back in 2017 and it was still nothing like what you see in this video. Sorry to see so much building. The airport was a shack. You should have seen Raja Ampat’s airport before it was redone.
We had almost every dive site to ourselves. We were fortunate.

Labuan Bajo is an area developed by President Jokowi, which will become a new world-class tourist center. All facilities have now been repaired.& many new hotels built there.This is a special economic zone where it is being repaired.
They are doing a good job turning Labuan Bajo into a world class center. We absolutely loved our visit. The whole area is beautiful, and the people are very helpful and friendly to family travelers!

Oh, actually Indonesian govt has rules that all debit cards and credit cards should use PIN. so, sometimes foreign travelers have problem with this. If you live in Indonesia and has bank account here, the bank will tell you to set up PIN immediately after receiving card.
