After listening to Andy philosophy on jazz, prog, and pop...I got to believe that Andy applied his personal music hypothesis's to Radio Silence.
@@mikeimpressionsreviews9831 I watched the video for "Rise" yesterday - killer guitar! The solo is insane, especially at 2:50-3:15. Nuno also did a related interview talking about keeping "Eddie Van Halen's guitar fire burning". Check✔This should be a good album...
Weird timing but just watched a Van Halen feature on cable (focusing on 6 VH albums that defined the band) where Nuno calls Gary Cherone live on air to ask him about Eddie sounding like Extreme/very un-VH-like on some VH III tracks & whose idea that was (Gary's or Eddie's) - Cherone says that EVH already had the basic song ideas down when he played them for him so apparently it was Eddie
Once again, Pete, thank you for your continued commitment to the weekly new product episodes. Listening to a bit of this while typing and definitely an album to go on the listening list for a full listen or three and possible purchase.

Anything Andy Edwards is involved with is always sensational!
Bought Rain's debut- "Singularity". I'm impressed by how Rain focused on servicing the song. A succinct philosophy fueling composition. Rain avoids Prog Rock traps and recipes. Rain doesn't bake progressive lasagna or make prog sandwiches.
Good prog album. 6 winners for me out of 9. I'd rate it a bit higher than their 2020 Singularity. Good vocals, some of the songs are a little quirky (but in a good way). Pretty melodic, pop mixed with prog. Fave tracks are "Solid State", "Never Ending Circle" & "Something New". Pete's rating of 4 out of five sounds about right to me...Bonus: Andy's UA-cam channel, I tune in every so often for his opinions/reviews (mostly re: fusion)

I've had the CD for a while and there are some real ear worms in there, which tells how good they are at songwriting.

All depends on singer for progressive music for me.
For me in general (not just for prog) the vocals (when not instrumental of course) make/break an album or band. There've been lots of instances where I really like the instrumentation but the singing's a no-go, so I move on
@@wolf1977 yes but my issue is with the generalized vocalist of progressive music. All of them are usually great singers. In a technical sense. But I like a more manly or harsher vocals with some good melodic parts. If all the vocals are clean or melodic I generally don't like the group even if I like the music.
I would almost always like an instrumental prog band though.
I need to pick this album out along with the debt. The few songs I've heard, it sounds fantastic! Thanks Pete for the review.
