I have an acquaintance who owns one of the restaurants there. We’re not too close, as she’s quite busy, but I wish the best for her, her business, and employees.
It would take a long time to tear it all down. That would probably result in everything that is there shutting down. The sad reality is that place doesnt make enough money. Its iconic though and state money really should go to making it a nice place and keeping the people there in business.
You need to do what Redondo Beach did. Rebuild the whole thing on concrete and steel and turn it into a premier tourist attraction it’s nice shops, restaurants, breakfast joints and coffee and a big beautiful fish market.
That property has made more than enough money for this. There is no reason to include anyone else unless the wharf owners are asking for a loan to repair it and will pay back the city with interest.
I feel bad for business owners but they still have homes. Those hit by hurricane Helene weren’t so fortunate! Many are still living in tents in the snow!
…. Can you reread your comment …? You’re basically saying “well other people have it harder so…. Boo hoo….” You realize that these business owners likely can’t afford to keep their homes if their businesses are devastated ….
@ this is my area that was hit in Tennessee so yeah like I said I feel bad for the business owners but people here are struggling while living in tents and the government and our representatives aren’t doing anything to help them. So if you think it’s boo hoo go visit the areas devastated by the hurricanes. Thousands have lost their homes and most their lives.
i was there long time ago and i all ways wonder why there not enuf support on the wharf..? u could see some of the wooden supports not connected to the base and the sea Lions hops on some of the beams so yea it wasn't really maintained.
I don't think federal money should be spent helping you and your family rebuild your home when a disaster happens and you and your family are out in the cold either .....
@@dax2725 We are not talking about a home. This is about a privately owned property that has made a lot of money. There is zero reason for the Fed to use our tax money when the wharf owners should have had insurance for this and put some of those millions they made off it into a rebuild account.
@@kimkim2718 I'm aware it's not a home . My comment was a flip of someones opinion of where monies should come from and that there are 2 sides as to who and where money is spent. This is also not privately owned , but city /county of Santa Cruz owned i believe , which is state / county but still government tax dollars that will be spent above and beyond insurance if in fact there is.

No taxpayer money to rebuild. If commercial interests want to rebuild, let them do it. No need to spend public money on a free fishing wharf. Let them buy cheap fish at Safeway.
@HughJater ok... My exact Grammer needs improvement. However, the overall sentiment remains the same. Why weren't the repairs implemented over time? Also, everything changes. Maybe it's time to let this go.
@jamesnash6101 the same reason there are no railroads in Africa. There were in the 1930s. There were no railroads in China nor Japan then. Stop and think about it for a second. Or have someone paint you a picture with your crayons. Use the black one.
!!I am at the beginning of my "investment journey", planning to put 385K into dividend stocks so that I will be making up to 30% annually in dividend returns. any good recommendation on great performing stocks or Crypto will be appreciated..
As a newbie investor, it’s essential for you to have a mentor to keep you accountable. Ruth Ann Tsakonas is my trade analyst, she has guided me to identify key market trends, pinpointed strategic entry points, and provided risk assessments, ensuring my trades decisions align with market dynamics for optimal returns.
I managed to grow a nest egg of around 120k to over a Million. I'm especially grateful to Adviser Ruth Ann Tsakonas, for her expertise and exposure to different areas of the market..
I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $200k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure. So I really don't blame people who panic.
Without a doubt! Ruth Ann Tsakonas is a trader who goes above and beyond. she has an exceptional skill for analysing market movements and spotting profitable opportunities. Her strategies are meticulously crafted on thorough research and years of practical experience.
how would you recommend i enter the crypto market? I am also looking at studying some traders and copying their strategy rather than investing myself and losing money emotionally. What's your take on this approach? and How can i reach her, if you don't mind me asking??

Business has always struggled with rent prices as has the students and workers. But it's been twenty years since I left there.

Might be time to get real and recognize that sea levels will only continue to rise. A managed pull-back would be the fiscally responsible thing to do.
This has nothing to do with sea level rise, its a big storm at rare time of a high king tide. Thats a foolish comment
