I was going to suggest visiting the War of the Worlds site. I live near there!
@24:00 The Rocky statue was made for Rocky 3 and stood at the top of the Museum stairs until the PMA decided it was a movie prop and had it removed. a bronze plaque of sneaker footprints was left in its place. It was at the Spectrum until that was torn down and then the statue was moved to where it is now after a public campaign to save it.

I was impressed with your reenactment of The War of The Worlds. I always try to listen to it around Halloween. As far as Rocky 1 is concerned, quite possibly the best movie of all time. I rewatch it whenever I’m facing something really big in life. “Adriennnnnnne!” 😄

My grandma was born in 1916 and I remember her telling me about War of the World and how she thought it was true until the very end of the radio broadcast. She said when she was 3, she was looking out her window and saw 3 lights in triangle form. She was scared to tell anyone because she thought no one would believe her. This was during World War one or two.

Moe and Shemp got their start in show business by working three summers in Jeannette PA, near the Lincoln Hwy. Side note: when Moe was touring in the area he stayed two streets above me in Jeannette. I beaned him with a snowball once.

    1) the joan of arc statue is part of the outdoor art walk. It was made in 1890.
    2) Laurel Hill Cemetery is home to Adrian's gravestone.
    3) Pat's and Geno's are tourist traps. There are better places in Philly to get "one whiz with".

I had read that online a few years ago prior to a visit to Philly. So we ate one at Reading Terminal Market, as we weren't going out of our way to find Pat's when other places do it as well as the "originator."
There's enough variety that you can find good ones without going to the tourist destinations, I quickly earned. That said, given Pat's gets all the hype, it seemed appropriate that Carpetbagger went there.

Both are literally right next door to each other, and have been for close to 100 years now. The first one was opened by a guy who brought his brother to the USA and then they got in an argument over how to make the food, causing them to spilt and open the 2nd restaurant next door. I'd love to see you decide which is better, as everyone in Detroit has an opinion.

The difference between 'steaks' at Gino's or Pat's is that Gino's 'slices' and Pat's 'shaves'. Everything else is pretty much the same. IMO? You got the right one, Jacob. Prevailing wisdom dictates that the more 'exposed' surfaces of meat to the tastebuds, the more intense the flavor, so, applying that logic, 'sliced' beef offers less surface than 'shaved'. Both establishments offer exceptional steaks but my money is on PAT'S King of Steaks!
