- It's been far too long since I uploaded a ragtime piece, and this one is irresistibly charming! It was recommended/requested to me by a viewer and I really fell in love with it, so thank you so much for bringing it to my attention. This is the "Cottontail Rag" by Joseph Francis Lamb, published posthumously in 1964 (possibly a later or revised version of his popular Top Liner Rag). Enjoy!

One of the BEST versions I've EVER heard of this masterpiece.
The wistfulness, nostalgia, melancholy and beauty is so much as to be almost unbearable and that's JUST the way this one should be played IMO.
THANK YOU!
I love playing this rag, and you smile at the same spots I smile at!
Thanks for this heartfelt rendition of one of my favorite Lamb pieces. You inspire me to play it next time I'm on the piano.
Charming. So charming!! Love it
Thanks very much 😊
One of my viewers also showed me this ragtime piece. Not the upbeat kind of sound I was expecting though. Might even sound like something that would fit Bioshock Infinite. Nice playing!
Wow!!! You played it so beautifully thanks so much...
@@ChristinaPepper Super well played! I've been attempting to play Cottontail for a few years now. Fun fact: Cottontail was found posthumously in the 1960's and published. Topliner Rag was his original attempt at it. However, he refined it into Cottontail. Here's Topliner. ua-cam.com/video/D57wE-LAcSc/v-deo.html
This is awesome! Very melancholy.

Can you list the equipment your are using? You sound terrific!
One of my favorite pieces by Lamb, the Top Liner Rag intro is the best! One thing I recommend not doing, however, is playing the arpeggios on the beat, they sound stiff when played like that, other than that, nice playing!
