Jesus Christ... I have never bloody heard an orchestral reworking of a dance track as friggin' flawless as this! If I die listening to this, I will have lived a full life!!
I Know your comment is pretty old, but it makes me think of another song that perfectly matches your pov as well. If you don't already know about it, you should look for Stromae's song "Alors on danse" and check its orchestral version just after, it makes the song even stronger and more meaningful
caraca estou extremamente orgulhosa pelo google ter conseguido reconhecer meus sons no ritmo da musica jajajaj só lembrava que tinha um "sexy outfit" em algum canto da letra jajajaj mas esse arranjo ficou muito bom cara
I disliked the video. Crossovers like "Pete Tong's house classics" (check it out!) translate nicely to orchestra because the original songs already sample orchestral strings. Dance songs like 'Let Me Think About It', which is possibly inspired by '90s French house, use very quick, dry, sharp sampling with lots of compression, and convey a dirty, raw energy - a perfect recipe for nightclubs. A large, reverberant orchestral chamber with 50 different musicians (all suffering from human error) playing instruments like violins, which have long attack and release times, does not lend itself well to punchy, dirty dance music. It is playing against it's strengths. With the aristocratic history of classical music, people tend to consider "orchestras" synonymous with "good music". Because the house/classical formula has worked before (like Pete Tong), mismatches like this are still guaranteed sellouts. I love Ida Corr, and 'Let Me Think About It' is brilliant. Unfortunately, this performance is a product of marketing. It feels forced, and I personally think (especially considering the venue/artistry/money behind it) this is a terrible version.
@@ilikeavacado I didn't like this version either (except violins part at 00:51 and some pizzicato). But I'm writing to thank you for the detailed and constructive expression of your opinion. And although I'm not a musician, I was impressed by your position over this orchestral version as opposed to the simple expression of the emotions made by others. PS I do like original song very much, Ida's voice fits perfectly PPS Thanks for tip on "Pete Tong's house classics"!
I been hopping with her for decades now..I'm mad at the World for not giving her her worth..she's an amazing performer, singer and I would love to be 1 of her background dancers, preferably the lead.. cause I'd do choreo
Basically the same cord playing on repeat… but I like it regardless. I just wish they had more stringed base and cellos playing the base cord(s) emphasis on a fuller and muffled beat with a base drum paired with soft soft mallet cymbal rather than using a timpani with a more hardened mallet that produces sharper sound. The piece sounded like was skipping a beat, I think it is the 8th note being replaced with a rest(beat); if I can remember my music theory class correctly from the 9th grade. Overall I love these sorts of remakes using orchestral live instruments.
