Thanks for posting this of my home town. Just a FYI...to not "give yourself away as an "outsider", it's pronounced, "NewBREEport" by locals. The Maritime Museum was the original Customs House, just off of Market Square with all the shops. Many of those beautiful brick buildings were all boarded up when I was a kid and in the early 70's developers came in and turned it into what it is today. The smallest city in Massachusetts, Newburyport is historic and where the first Clipper Ships were built and it became a major coastal seaport. Nearby Plum Island is where the U.S. Coast Guard was "born".
