Those are good welders, definitely not consumer grade. In 1976 we used the lincoln welding power 225 to weld up side sheets in wrecked train cars out in the field . Great little machines. Great welding series , thanks.
I have the single cylinder version; 6000 watts of auxiliary power, but still 225 maximum welding amps. I just bought a new carburetor for it on Amazon. I also replaced the muffler with a general purpose tractor type of muffler. That lowered the noise to where i can now hear the valves clicking away. Mine has a carburetor that is very adjustable. So if yours idles rough, you should be able to tweak the carburetor, and get that to smooth out.
It is a commercial welding machine. 2 different Briggs & Stratton engines were used both being 16 horsepower 2 cylinders the one which is a pain in the butt has separate coils for each cylinder and you have to have an owner's manual to figure out how to set up the timing so it runs on both cylinders if you don't have the timing set up right it only run on one cylinder the other cylinder will not fire drove me nuts trying to fix those things. The other one uses an electronic ignition system and it's very bulletproof however the electronic ignition system is actually under the flywheel. Is a modular device I had that fail on me one time on the unit that I use for almost 2 years as a welder for it a trucking company. The oil pressure sending units have a tendency to fail and if they do, will not start . Seeing people connect 300 ft leads to those welding machines 2/0 cable weld 4 floors up on buildings.
What a great video. Thank you. I just acquired a welder like this. The previous owner said it ran great two years ago. I don't know anything about this machine. Just getting started. First thing I need to get is a battery. Also would be interested in some sort of cart. (It's sitting on the ground, without wheels) So, if anyone who reads this has any input, it would be greatly appreciated.
I have one just like that with a high frequency box on it for tig welding. The AC welding allows you to tig weld aluminum with the HF box. Lincoln and Miller no longer offer the AC welding current on there small gas driven machines, they want you to buy a separate tig machine for welding aluminum.
Nice welder and nice arc shots of the 5 p 6010, with a hint of pause whip. Actually good welds. Oh lots of " overlap " on the adjustment. Great score !
Do you still have this welder? I have an older 16HP single cylinder IC Briggs that the motor is almost shot. I wanted to put a 2 cylinder on it like yours but Lincoln & Briggs can't find me a model number for the twin cylinder you have or a conversion kit. What is the model and code number for yours and type? Maybe I can find a newer or rebuildable engine for my old Iron Maiden. Those babies are bulletproof.
Use one hand to weld and the other to operate the grinder. Simultaneously weld and follow it with a grinder to remove the weld at the same time. This will test weldor and generator simultaneously and put the grinder wheel to the ultimate heat test. So what happened to the Chucky2009 channel?

I want to get a welder generator so bad but they’re all wayyy outta my price range. They’re all either brand new machines or beat up, high hour junk that someone wants next to new price for. My eyes stay open forever searching.
Your right, new sky high priced and used just simply junk, I got mine from a vendor at a trade show who didn't want to the trouble of restocking and shipping. So we negotiated and they even loaded it on my truck for me. They even took my credit card ! Brand new and not even fueled yet. Keep looking.....
What did you pay for it if you don’t mind me asking? I found one for sale in what looks to be much worse condition curious if his price is right seems high for what he’s asking
It would be. Unless they are just wanting to get rid of it. These machines are absolute beasts, I have this exact machine and I gave nothing for it (pulled it out of a dumpster) because it wouldn’t run. But I have several hundred if not $1k plus in getting everything up to snuff again. Parts are not cheap and some down right hard to find for them.

The welder/generator looks like a great buy you get power on the go plus welding

I inherited one of these old beasts. Can’t wait to get it started. Earplugs ready 😂

I had a 150 I put the dc converter on it along with a bigger fuel tank and a electric start that thing ran like a dream
But this one is DC you mean another selenoid?
@ mine was a AC unit I converted
What a great video. Thank you.

That one was videoed in your Mom n Pop's shed a.k.a ChuckE2009's welding shop !! 👍👍😁✌️

They don't make them to last like the old machines. I work on old and new. Old are far more superior.
I just picked one of these up a few days ago I’m having some issues with mine though

I need to find a motor for mine I have the 225 with the single cylinder
I have that same machine. Do you know where I can get info on adjusting the governor? Mine won't stay at high idle while welding.
I want to get a welder generator so bad but they’re all wayyy outta my price range. They’re all either brand new machines or beat up, high hour junk that someone wants next to new price for. My eyes stay open forever searching.

This video is probably 7/8 years old, the original posters channel was taken down a while back
How much would you say this welder is worth? I see one for sale for $1000, but my budget is like $350. Would it be an insult to offer $350?

Miller parts are getting hard to get. Almost like they are phasing out the olden Goldies.
Little young buck lol
you have NO CLUE how the amperage dials work....
325
Little long winded. Just get to the point
