You have some nice equipment . After my retirement I used my 84 Pete for my everyday vehicle until it got to tough to get in and out , i started as a deputy in 1986 until my brother bought a truck I was already hooked grown up around trucks but 5-months later hung up my badge and became a hard core trucker still in the day could run two books :) 37yrs later with to many miles to count I’m all the way done , we need guys like this out there . Wish you all the best .
Can't float swift worth a shit with the Jake on, if it has low med high settings you can get way with it on low but it still sucks! I pulled fuel for a few years in a 379 long hood turned up to 550 in a 18 splitter
Brother the sound of that ends in M Jake brakes brings back lotta memories of me being on the road with my dad at all caterpillar name Jake brakes man that makes me warm in the heart
Love that red 379. My favorite. Really need to go to bed. But, I can't stop watching your videos. Oh, what the hell. I'll watch one more. I'll be up all night. Hope you're happy. Love ya' brother. Pleasant night to you and your family, Tim.
The mode button is to engage 4 wheel drive, the black box in the middle of the cab controls the tire pressure depending what terrain you select. The electronics in the cab run through that box, if you have problems with the gauges unplug the box and the guges should work fine you just won't be able to deflate the tires by pushing a button
I miss my little shadow that's what you have right Hope you never miss it I have He's coming back and older and help me out with with thick and thin I don't want him working as hard as I have through my life I'm sure that's why you do what you do so he can have an awesome life
Congratulations on 100 K!! I learned so much about your industry by just watching you go through a regular day. We love you up here in the great pacific northwest brother
came from JH's channel, thanks for your hardwork getting those trucks to the shop!!! Those are going to be fun to watch ripping full speed through some mud!!!
When they do get the battery situation straightened out, make sure to turn the M series light switches to off. My deuce and HUMMVes will have have dead batteries if they are left in service drive and obviously in any other position.
My national guard unit i was in had 1088's with the big fountain flatbeds those trucks are fun in the beginning but, they don't ride too well after 500 miles a day lol. Also those ctis systems for the tires had alot of trouble with the ones we had.
Years ago there were truck s that were a 12 volt run and 24 volt start - they accomplished that with what was called a series parallel switch... that may be what you have there - military stuff has some wiered specs...
Hi Tim, Love the video's, since you like the max so much, why don't you change the cab and put a sleeper on the Mack and turn up the injector pump on the Mack, and put bigger injectors so you can get more horsepower that's just my thought you know I know you know more than I do but it's just a thought Keep On Truckin !
I am just seeing this video so it's kinda late but I work on military trucks all the time. Just for the future if you run into this problem you can replace all those batteries with 2 of the 4D batteries run a jumper from the positive on one battery to the negative on the other battery to make it 24 volts. This way you will do away with all those connections. I do this on every military trick we buy and it is a lot cheaper in the long run.
I will say one thing though like you I love the old cab over s.......just remember the old joke and keep it in the back of your head....... You will be the first to the wreak......
Hell chaps you have some big roads great army trucks l like the pick ups at end of the video l do like your pick up trucks we get just a few pick ups here in the uk 🇬🇧 but they not as good as yours stay safe chaps thanks for your video 👏👏👍
that flat blk box blinks all the time im pretty sure and its for adjusting tire pressures.those should have cat engine in them if they are stewart stevenson.i drove some a few times in the army.
When your CTIS is blinking at 5 light. Usually that little box is bad. It will default to on road air pressure. If I heard right the fifth wheel on had some transmissions probably. There should be a transmission reset button somewhere on top of the transmission. Usually that helps. Also motor oil is used in the transmission for commonality in oils. If I remember. Also there should be a little reddish bottle on the back of the cab that’s either. For starting when it’s cold weather. The yellow switch with the Z is switch for that bottle. Only us it 2-5 seconds at a time. Other than that there a blast to drive. O yeah they are governed to 60 mph. Before they govern the would do everything on the dash.
I think you’re mistaken on motor oil being used in the transmission, I have never heard of that. Only for power steering fluid have I heard of that. That transmission usually takes a variant of Dexron. Castrol Transynd is probably what was used.
I'll tell you what to clean a tractor and trailer with. My brother use to get used refer and box trailers years ago, cheap because they where always black from the truck stacks spraying the trailer because they had the engine turned up Hot . He found this stuff that use to be made in Jacksonville , FL. Called Brown Stuff. It comes in a gallon jug and is Brown in Color. Now you can dilute it but when your cleaning a white trailer that's turned black just spray it full strength. Now wear rubber boots, wear safety glasses , and if it's windy put on a rain suit. Now full strength this brown stuff can eat you up. ( I just had in tennis shoes and sprayed it right out the bottle. Well I was rinsing it off and the water pooled up and my shoes became soaked with a solution of about 60% to 40, Well the water just diluted the brown stuff and my feet paid the price .) Becareful . Well this brown stuff will clean the dirtyist trailer and semi tractor . You shouldn't need a pressure washer. I have applied.it with a sprayer wait 10 minutes and use a regular water hose to spray it off. It's bad ass cleaner. Now if I recall it will make aluminum fuel tanks and such turn dull. My brother used a 9" Disc grinder ,.large buffing pads and three different grades of polishing rouge or compounds ! There are like 6 different types and more. He used Red,.Brown,.Blue , and white . But he would load up the buffing pad with a 3.lb bar After he washed and cleaned all the crap of the rig including the engine,.tranny, and rears, Wheels and tires. Now he would he woul use a heat pressure washer if he could. Then he would polish the fuel tanks, wheels , and anything that was aluminum and chrome. He could make a nasty rig look like a completely different semi just from cleaning and polishing. He had a gift for detailing a tractor/trailer. That brown stuff would remove that black smutt from the exhaust stacks like butter on bread. Now some the paint was to far gone but the trailer was white again. Now I've seen Brown stuff for sale on the internet. I tried calling the chemical company my brother got his from but the phone won't ring ? It runs about $16 dollars a gallon plus S&H. Give it a try. Just make sure to wear rubber boots and eye protection while using or around. It will clean anything dirty. It will clean roof shingles also. Dilute spray it on . Try it and.goos.luck.
I don't know if you are looking for another truck but there is a freightliner in Huntsville AL on Vermont road for sale at the recycling plant either got a small sleeper or its a day cab
Porter greetings. Don’t forget the Old Home Fill R Up Cafe…those little truck stops are a blessing at times. No need to run out of fuel…it causes a lot of heartache! Good trip! Those trucks are cool but unusual! 🧐
Look inside the battery cover, it will show you how the batteries are connected and the seperation onf the 12, 24 Volt, you can run 4 series 24 batteries
CAT POWER,,, gota love that pre gov juice no BS ... so the sgt johnson truck has 15k miles... wow... and their places are on Google Earth,,, LOL... not to hard to find... Farm boy JH, AG use,,, LOL,,, then put red juice in it.... and hooked on another channel from watching Cleetus....
Hey Tim, I'm new really love the videos I subed and I wish u did a ride along video of like little talk just a video of your truck because your truck sounds like angels singing in the sky.
Those cat eye style valve stems are the worst, especially if they have the extension to the inside wheel. They ALWAYS loosen up!!! Either lock-tite or use thread tape. Or take that crap off!

Right in my area! Truck safe sir!
Ran that stop sign like it wasn’t there.
Same as not wearing a seatbelt to
Some places those stop signs are useless anyway
Damn, made that comment like you have never ran a stop sign before.
@@nicholasbrown5801 actually I haven’t. Never been in an accident or have gotten a ticket.
@@dR-bh9kt damn your a Saint, thank you for being awesome

I hate the Lumberton Scale... I always grab 301 and go around that damn thing, lol.
Usually when I was over that way, I was picking up at Lumber Bridge. Come out at St Pauls or Fayetteville.
1,000 people a day move to Florida so they say. Hello from Siesta Key Florida
If you see some with a fifth wheel hitch, you could use that for short trips or a terminal truck.
Look inside the battery cover, it will show you how the batteries are connected and the seperation onf the 12, 24 Volt, you can run 4 series 24 batteries
series 24
I like that Peterbilt.
CAT POWER,,, gota love that pre gov juice no BS ...

I'm afraid to ask what that stain on the dash is. 06:30
Lizard went skiing
That was friggin cool!!!!!!
Enjoyed the video buddy!
Got the ol goober unit sounding pretty sweet 👍
Good run good deal. Rubber side down rubber side up.
Take a pic of how the battery cables are ran then run em the same way. I think those are Lithium Hydride batteries which are en how spendy!!
AGM "absorbent glass mat", lead/acid batteries.
Those will make him happy for show
Congrats on 100K!
amazing trucks
Stop means stop in Australia.if we a stop sight that’s what we do.
0:15 someone got pulled over on the other side of the road. 😅
Congratulations on 100k subs right on 🤘🇺🇸 SALUTE God ✝️ bless
Ol’Girl sounds awesome 💪!!! Hell yeahhhhh yee yeeeeeeee
almost 100 K subs . lets go G&S
Definitely get 2 or 3 of them
These big old Army trucks need 24v to crank and 12v to run them If I remember right,
Great content and I’m loving it
Looks like you left the black out lights on ( lights for driving with night vision) which may lead to dead batters
Those cat eye style valve stems are the worst, especially if they have the extension to the inside wheel. They ALWAYS loosen up!!! Either lock-tite or use thread tape. Or take that crap off!
Those will make killer high water rescue vehicles.
I know that scale house u pasted in the video not far from where I live
Could u do a video on all the switches in the peterbuilt lol there so many more then I remember
Love them old flds !
I found you from JH.
Tim is that pete powered by a Cummins it sounds like it?
The MODE button may allow the driver to enable a secondary shift schedule
4.59 i got 3 or 4 hours of sleep tell this to the eld guys we are never sitting in truck stops we are busy chasing the green
Make sure you always turn the lights off. They will continue to drain your batteries
The beard comes off with 5000 more subscribers and you promised me that months ago come on now bro. I’ve been telling everybody about your channel that I know
Hey Tim I was wondering why you seem to have your Jake brake on all the time ?? Just asking !!
Are you some of the Gentry school bus people from knoxville
That button on the shift pad is the mode button. It’s holds the transmission in the gear longer when pulling hills or a hauling a heavy load.
Yes normally that’s what the mode button would do but on the LMTV trucks the mode button engages all wheel drive
Neg or Pos Ground lol. Ive done that before.
Almost at 100k
Did I see toe bars behind the cabs
18:47 confusion sets in over JH’s face
What's up
