Hi Vladimir. Good to see you taking on deer hair and spinning it onto a streamer. This fly looks like a take from or a mini version of a Dahlberg type diver. Very nice use of the peacock herl too. Look for videos showing tiers using deer hair in a dubbing loop and applying as a hackle to dry flies or in other creative ways. Thanks for sharing! Ciao for now.
Hi Tom, Its not so new to me but i dont use this technique much. Recently, i got much into bucktail so this was natural. Now i am all into deer hairs. Experimenting and making stuff for myself. I am still not comfortable to show it on video though. I did a while ago some deer hair tips as a hackle and it was nice. A friend of mine was really good at it. Producing some amazing patterns. Cheers 🍻
@ I have tried deer hair spun in a dubbing loop, but it was for the abdomen, which is shaved and tapered down, for an ‘Irresistible’ dry fly and for a cased caddis nymph. Haven’t tried it for a floating hackle as of yet, that still looks pretty difficult to get just right. Lots of hot bodkin work, like a hair stylist or something.
I have found that after wrapping your thread on your whip finisher, hang the bobbin over your tensioner screw knob. That way you have your left hand completely free to pull back all the deer hair from the eye. Also, try using a midge whip finisher. You’ll rarely use a standard size again. So much more precise.
Since you don’t have Stonfo blade tool, I suggest you put clear tape over opposite side of razor blade. One you are not using. That way you will not cut yourself. Unless, your plan is to get cut and then you have excuse not to do the dishes 😊
Wie immer Top Vladimir
Thank you so much 👍😊
Wow! Nice tie brother! I love how you wrapped the Peacock herl! Im going to try tying this one!

Its a messy process. Trimming is terrible. Especially if you don't have rooom for tying.
I haven't used bodkin. Thats too much for me
You make it look easy
It is. Just take your time and enjoy process 😊

I will have to play with it. I dont have midge finisher but i used one once and it wasnt so easy 😀
Thank you for your advice
Cheers

Nice work.....what model and brand of hook are you tying on ?
Thanks. I am using chinese hook. Unavailable outside of china. But its the same as dohiku S
Are you using GSP to sinch down the deer hair so tight ?😊
No gsp, just thick thread. I usually cut the hair with GSP. 🤣

Or simply break razor in two. What puzzles me is how do you know i am the one doing the dishes 🤣🤣
