I figured he would be doing one. A real coincidence. He did the same cat that I chose.

I think we have the same opinions on this laser, Gary. Much better than dealing with a separate riser. The software is pretty basic but super simple, too! I'm sure it will get improved over the coming months. It was fun watching you search for cats, too! LOL! So strange we had these on the same day! Have a great one, buddy, see ya later! 😊

Yes very strange. I email the person I was working with and she picked the day.
I had no idea there was 3 servers to choose from . I learned that watching your video.
I like the way it raises as well. I think the fact that it lowers down to focus makes me think it does better.
      Yup....see ya later,

Thank you Jon. I am sure you will like this Fridays video.
Friends of ours who moved to Indiana told me about a heater he got.
It is an oil filled heater and he said it puts out lots of heat and does not make noise. I think I will get one they are around $50.00 and up.

Great review, Gary. Three good reviews by you, Phil and Gord should boost sales of this engraver. I would not mind having one of these, but I could not justify spending that kind of money on something that would be used infrequently.
This one seems to be the nicest laser engraver you have reviewed so far. Based on your comment about putting the unit under the counter, I assume you plan to keep using this one.

Thank you John. for sure Gord and Phil have great reviews on it. I was sure Phil would end up doing one but was shocked to see he did when I finally posted mine. Guess I should have posted it a week ago LOL.

@@ThePapa1947 I prefer not to do resin myself. It is smelly and messy and takes a lot more finishing time. Wood is just such a unique gift God gave us and the ability to take a rough chaotic piece of wood and make it round, smooth, and shiny is so satisfying. But sometimes resin can really make a project interesting...

As soon as you said it was something that you don't want to ever use in your shop I knew you were talking about epoxy, Gary. 😅
I'm still not going to get a laser burner. But you just made me think that I need to dig a little deeper into the AI generation features of photoshop. That might occupy the rest of my day. I'll let you know how it goes.😊

I turn mostly bowls and vessels. How tall can it burn as I want to engrave the bottoms. Of both bowl and vessel. Also my bottoms are concave.

    • @ThePapa1947
      @ThePapa1947  6 місяців тому

You can turn them over. Keep the engraving in the curved area. It is forgiving if it is a flatter curve.

  • @TexasTurnings

Yes it's cool. BUT. I do not like where this world is going. With A I you might as well stay in bed. The young people today will never learn how to use their hand to do anything for themselves. The generation will be helpless. Only my opinion Gary

Not being that good at hand drawings this works for me.
I admire those who can sketch an image with very little effort.
