  • Here is the first episode in my new series: Under the Spot Hype - a review of Sitting Pretty: The View from my Ordinary Resilient disabled body by Rebekah Taussig.
    ---
I love reading a wide variety of books, but with this series I want to shine a spotlight (get it?) on books that I don't think are getting enough hype in the book world - whether that's not many Goodreads reviews, a new book that not many people seem to be talking about, or an older backlist book that deserves some love. I hope you enjoy! Scroll down for timestamps, resources and interview about Sitting Pretty.

    🌻About me 🌻
Hi! I'm Jaz, a 26-year-old avid book reader. I started talking about books on the internet over on my blog, Travels in Fiction. However, in 2019, I decided to take the plunge into booktube as I wanted a more casual and fun way to chat about the books I've been loving (and I ramble a lot so it works). Expect lots of LGBTQ+ reads, international fiction and lots of silliness, too!

I just finished listening to this book and I need EVERYONE to read it, especially able bodied people !! Im disabled myself. My experience is different than Rebekah in the way that I became disabled when I was 18 due to my chronic muscle illness so I've been on both sides, able bodied and disabled but everything she talked about in here was so relatable and needs to be discussed more!

I'd never heard of this book before but now I definitely want to read it. It sounds like my kind of nonfiction exactly and I'd especially be looking out for this one on audiobook because I like listening to nonfiction that way. Thank you so much for the recommendation (I can't wait for more from this series!)

this is such a cool idea for a series! I love hearing about books that aren't all across my timelines so this is such a wonderful resource to find all kinds of less known books.

Just finished listening to this audio book. It was a great introduction to the social model of disability and I agree that Rebekah's conversational tone made it such an easy listening experience. Thanks for the video
