LtGen Heckl speaks about China and FD2030 at 2022 Acquisitions Awards Dinner

"We're not going to get a 2nd chance to get this right."
LtGen Karsten Heckl, Deputy Commandant for Combat Development and Integration and Commanding General of the Marine Corps Combat Development Command, spoke about the modernization efforts of the Marine Corps and how its Acquisitions community is an integral part of carrying out the mission as laid out in the National Defense Strategy.
LtGen Heckl defended the implementation of Force Design 2030 against its detractors and addressed our peer adversary China, a country which has a GDP on par with the United States', in comparison to the USSR whose GDP never surpassed 40% of the US economy. "We don't seek conflict with China, but are ready for it."
