I'd definitely love to see more random racing on tracks with interesting gimmicks like that. I suggested a while ago it'd be neat to see a track full of shortcuts that only certain vehicles could use (e.g. holes tiny cars fit through, ledges you need higher ground clearance for, water sections for amphibious cars, etc.). But really I'm sure there's all kinds of concepts that could be tried.
This track was a request from myself and bdogs of gingerTravis to make with the intention being future lmp/gt events as well as maybe a future broughcar series. It wasnt intended for random races but they usually turn out quite well. People have made ovals before but the people good at making them couldnt really a decent roval. Ginger really came through for us and this is imo possible the greatest creation from gta 5's content creator
The banking transitions are amazing! My struggle with making those smooth and realistic has been a pain, but this is definitely the best representation of it in GTA!
my guess is that any cars where you cant be over 3/4 of the way to your top speed around the infield, are better around the oval. so mostly cars with poor acceleration rather than cars with good top speeds. or at least any car where your average speed around the lap isn't half of the cars top speed. like the dump is faster on the infield because it can be basically AT its top speed the whole way reguardless. the van, in spite of its comparatively slow top speed, has so little grip you have to slow way down for the turns, then it doesnt have the acceleration to get back up to it, so its better to take the longer rout where it can cover more ground faster more than making up for the bit of extra distance.
Ignacio Romero True. But for those who use Fahrenheit it’s not too hot. The joke might only make sense in certain countries that use different measurements. It is a joke though, really it doesn’t matter.
This track is phenomenal! I really want to know how those banking transitions are made. I struggle a lot with making that smooth and realistic as possible. Looks like THE smoothest transition and banking ever on GTA!
I can see the choices being a bit more varied than every traffic style car in the infield for a random all. In fact I'd guess the 'average' standard cars in the middle of the pack become more of a difficult choice based on how it handles, accelerates, and it's top speed. Not to mention crashes seemingly far more likely on the infield which will also slow you down. I... could also totally be wrong too. Still, such a fun track design I'd want to see it more. Wish you could have 3-way track design so you could toss in an offroad choice too... really challenge car knowledge.
The concept of this track is great, but the transition in and out of infield should be straight because when you make the entrance and exit a curve, it makes the oval part of the apex where you would want to go all the way from the outside of the track to the inside when going in, and all the way to the wall when going out. so you got slow cars constantly cutting in front of cars at top speed. it should be more like the pit lane. straight in, straight out. traffic management! :D
We definitely should have a track like this on a random all, just not this one specifically. Maybe add boosts to the oval here, to make a track where one infield lap is about the same as one oval lap.
Really nice track, i wish we had it on PC; it'll be fun for sure with many muscles and sports cars, i can picture a lot of Tampa Drifts and Paragons R in there.
I may have made your orange colour @.@ also thanks for not having ads every five damn seconds, on my Chromebook I can't skip 'em, so, I appreciate your videos.
Liking the idea of this great to see more random races with this sort of track People will work out that one route might be quicker for most cars i wonder if it could be set, so that drivers can choose what route they take on a lap but they only can do that route a maximum number of times, 12 lap race driver has to do 6 Infield and 6 Oval laps. Could it also be done that half the field do 1st Lap - Infield then 2nd Lap Oval and so forth, while the other half of the field do the opposite.
You’re forgetting about traffic on the infield line though, do a random-all on that and I guarantee it will be quicker to go outside with most sports cars and above!
Intriguing (and clever), yes! Interesting to watch, not really. I understood what was happening but difficult to see any racing going on - which is normally the argument for a select. Broughy 10th then suddenly 4th then suddenly 7th with nothing noticeably happening. One of those more fun to take part in I think. As for the same concept being used for Random All, all that's required is to add a bit to the infield (and perhaps another chicane on the oval for infield cars) to make it a genuine choice.
love random select but i get the feeling the 2tracks are not as balanced as people think. 1 inside seems not fast in most cases and then you still need to do the longer oval. but its hard comparing with different cars..
there was enough people in the stream chat trying to decide which side is faster, never mind in this comment section, _despite_ iirc travis mentioning the inner route is faster for most cars. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@TheBedheadman what the fuck does skill have to do with it? This is about strategy - which way is faster - and people who have no experience acting as if they know which is faster even though it's already been stated by the people who know this inside and out which is faster. It's almost as retarded as saying that a game has no skill
My problem with this track is the constant indecision. Over 20 laps, I'm guaranteed to miss the turn at least 4 times, because I simply cannot make up my mind on whether to take the infield route or not :D
Why would you ever choose to do the infield? It would work if the infield was like a shortcut and cut through half the oval but it doesn't. When you come out of the infield you still have to do 95% of the oval. If you pick the infield you're screwing yourself. Am I wrong? From this it seems like the infield entrance and exit is at the exact same place on the course, meaning that if you pick infield all you're doing is adding that extra time it takes to complete the infield onto the time it would take you to complete the oval.

Logically the oval will always be faster, your average speed is way higher, the distance of the infield is not short enough or worth while for slower speed vehicles as they take the longest time to hit a higher speed
@@chompette_ unless you have perfect in field everytime the oval is always going to be safer, messing up braking or an apex is going to slow you down. Unless 1000s of hours of sim racing and actual race experience counts for nothing then you artificially have used best lap times for in field.
