i just watched them live at the Iceland Airwaves yesterday and honestly that was one of the best shows of the festival because of the high energy they were bringing in - such a contrast to the mostly whispy and mellow icelandic music scene. i danced my heart out for their entire set - they were amazing live, so much energy (more than this!)
I saw them a couple weeks ago in a festival in Chile and I am not lying when I say it was A TRULY RELIGIOUS EXPETIENCE. Their energy man, reminded me what music it's all like: doing what your body and creative feels like to. Chai come back to Chile 🇨🇱🇨🇱🌹🌸😊

Say what you will, but it’s super neat seeing something different coming into the US and UK from Japan. They’re new and fun and creative and cute and have a lot of musical talent and passion for their craft! Very different and new and original.
Didn't know what to expect with that thumbnail. Ended up loving every second of it, they have a real knack for making you just feel happy with their unique sound and fun energy, so upbeat but never in a boring way. Very cool 5/5
As someone who’s into kawaii, feminism, and am very pink myself, CHAI is one of my favorite bands on the planet. I love that these women wrap some pretty serious topics in a sweet candy coating and challenge the stereotypical Japanese concepts of beauty and strength. Their energy and joy are infectious, too. I wish I could spend a day hanging out with them. 💖💖💖
I discovered this band through their collaboration with Duran Duran (More Joy, although they might actually be singing More Chai :-)) They seem like a fusion of The Breeders and The B-52s, and they have the punk attitude of those bands as well. If only I knew what the heck they are singing about! But they're definitely a joy to watch.
I love that NPR is bringing in musicians from Japan. To not make it seem like Japan's music scene is only a colorful candy land I suggest to invite Ichiko Aoba with her heavenly and incomparable voice.
I just finished binging on their official UA-cam channel. They are refreshingly creative. ...and they can really execute on their instruments. The sing like babies, but all four can really play funk guitar, bass, etc. ...They really need to start a US tour.
