I get the thing about the drums. But I think it works really well in an album context. For example if you listen to a westside gunn album straight through it's like he's painting a tapestry, and the drumless parts challenge traditional sounds and leave little pockets of something different in the tracklist. I find it very theatrical, like some of the stuff kendrick does, royce da 5 9 etc. Roc Marciano was huge in developing that style of production. I remember you guys calling King Los' song War a work of art, and it was produced like that.
I am going to disagree with that you said about drumless hip hop tracks would sound better with drums. I think a lot of the time, they have drumless tracks is because in fact adding drums would make it sound worse or doesn't fit the track at all. It also sometimes gives it a nastier edge with out drums. Some samples sound way better looped somewhat without drums is what I'm trying to say. Love your videos
Please you guys have to listen to THE REALEST FREESTYLE from Coast Contra! Its their best one and you guys HAVE to break the BARS and I mean BARS down!
I can’t agree with the hate of beats with no drums. I mixed it up as a producer, but I love chopping up a sample and letting it loop without drums, sometimes it brings out different flows from artists. Hip hop is also rap so just because the beat doesn’t have drums doesn’t mean it’s not hip hop. That’s just my opinion but regardless I love hip hop and the community no matter the differences 🙏🏽💯🎶
fire, y'all need to do more griselda man! his last album God Don't Make Mistakes is by FAR his best, really recommend you check out some tracks off there, most of all "Stressed" which may be his best song imo, but John Woo Flick, God Don't Make Mistakes, or Lock Load (or just any other song) are also amazing!
imo intro to an album it's fine if they do that floating loop for a bit, but yea this song is in the middle of the album so shouldn't really have half the song with no beat.
Disagree heavy with what you said about drumless loops. When done correctly they dont need drums at all, drums actually make it sound worse. And for that Ghostface song, there was a version they released with drums and it doesnt sound nearly as good as the original
Unpopular opinion maybe but that beat just doesn't go with Conway to me. Conway to me thrives with a more gutter sounding beat or at least that hard drum pattern, for example Stab Out featuring Ransom off that album. I come to Conway for them hard beats and bars.
Love you guys but that drumless take was kind of an L. There are producers like Nicholas Craven, Alchemist, or Roc Marciano that do wonders with drumless beats; it can really highlight the lyricist and their lines. Good rappers like Ransom or Boldy James shouldn’t need drums to be good in my opinion.
Machine's vocab is off the roof, he always has some metaphors and hits you with insane wordplay. Just pure bars🔥🔥🔥🔥
This one is nothing but heat. Conway and Jae played off each other well.
First for the first time! Wooooo! You guys are phenomenal! Keep it up!
YOOOO thanks for doing this reaction, I really just put it up in the community cuz I thought it was neat but I love that yall did it. Much love
Stab out ft. Ransom is another one worth looking at
Yall need to do Brooklyn Chop House or Tween Cross Tween off the album. Those are the 2 best tracks id play on repeat.
As a student of the game, conway is unique.
Endless Intro 😂😂😂 but yo I get exactly what you saying 🔥🔥
Jae skeeze and machine released an album in march, just a heads up bros. Thanks for this upload!
Yea, Skeese went off!

Do roc Marciano elephant mans bones
imo intro to an album it's fine if they do that floating loop for a bit, but yea this song is in the middle of the album so shouldn't really have half the song with no beat.
If they did a remix i could hear jay z and red cafe on this
Conway one of my favorites and I rock with Jae Skeese as well but Im just not feeling this song. Now the one with Ransom is straight 🔥🔥🔥

I've noticed that your videos are getting shorter... is that on purpose?

I can not stand hiphop beats without drums. It's like taking the meat out of a meal for me.
Fuego Base ft Benny The Butcher & OT the Real-Warehouse pt 1 & 2 🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Preach on the drums! End the drumless “fad” already
How bout some Upchurch Pioneer....
