That was nothing short of EPIC! Thank you SO much for all that detailed information. Very well taught! It makes me feel so much more at ease investing in an expensive pinball machine when I feel confident that I can handle maintenance and repair. :)
Thank you. I had a flipper sticking in the on position due to the bushing in the plastic part of the flipper linkage. I'm a newbie, so I didn't realize that when the flippler linkage bolt broke and fell into the cabinet, that there was a bushing. I found the bushing in the cabinet. Installed it with the bolt and now the flipper doesn't travel too far to get stuck. Thanks for the layout of parts in the video.
Great video! Just got flipper rebuild kits for my Black Knight machine. This will help a lot. Only difference I see is my spring location. My springs are on the shaft entering the coil.
I just got a baby pac-man pinball arcade and when you push the flipper button it just keeps flipping. You can actually hold the button in and the flipper will keep flipping. Any idea as to what is causing this?
Thank you so much for this really interesting learning opportunity. I'm new to pinball inner workings (i've played them all my life) and i'm trying to troubleshoot the left flipper on my Atilla The Hun table that keeps pausing in the "up" position. I suspect that the coild is not releasing the charge properly, but i don't know. Kind of lost. After this video, i have a bit more confidence in going home tonight and opening her up to see what I can see with new eyes.
This was great and very informative for people who are new to pinball like me thanks. I have a hobbit machine and the flippers mechs are covered in a gray powder, and occasionally gets stuck due to a build up. What do you recommend for cleaning the parts? It seams like I am needing to clean them rather often like twice a month due build up or every 6-10 games. Could this be due to a failing part? I have been using a Dry lint free rag to clean the parts, is there a product I can use? Or is a rebuild more in my future?
you probably dont care at all but does someone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Jaxx Gianni i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
JERSEY JACK PINBALL, 1.) Why does pinball repair technician try to "demagnetize" the solenoids plunger? because I would think you would want the plunger to be magnetized so it can be able to be pushed and pulled in by the coils magnetic field. 2.) When pressing the flipper solenoid it creates an arcing spark across the switch contracts but to prevent it is to add a diode or capacitor?
I don't think there's a better explanation of flipper problems and fixes than this video. VERY good.

A coil stop and coil sleeve keep things fresh, every 3 to 6 months during home use.
I love gilbert gottlieb flipper rebuild video! =)

Magnetized parts create wear
Thank you.😊 What a fantastic video.
Perfect, thanks!
