Nero - John Simm (Caligula Introduces Senator Incitatus)

The Emperor Caligula (John Simm) has gone mad. Murdering his sister's husband for conspiracy, he exiles her and takes her son Lucius, who begins his historical legacy as Nero.
Here, Caligula makes his favourite horse, Incitatus, a Senator.

Caligula had soldiers patrol the neighborhood to ensure that Incitatus' sleep was not disturbed, and he had Senators invited to dine with him via invitations sent in the horse's name (which no doubt infuriated those Senators who were so honored, although I didn't consider sharing meals with my mare the least bit degrading).

Absolute rubbish. Not even the paid "historians" slandering Caligula, after he was dead and unable to defend himself, ever claimed that Incitatus was ever actually made a Senator. Caligula (who was strongly opposed to the political class and was extremely popular with the common people) in all likelihood merely sarcastically joked that he might as well make his horse a senator because the animal could do their jobs as well as they could.
