17:39 is the home of a Desert Tortoise. The spend 90% of their life underground. If you see one, admire it, but please leave it alone.
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter....
The Lynch King FALLOUT NEW VEGAS REFERENCE
I know this was posted along time ago but I was just watching old episodes of Can we survive and I saw you comment
Hey guys, really like your show. So, I am an 23 year Air Force Vet and have been deployed several times to desert locations. I would like to give you a little suggestion on your MREs. If you don't like using the heating element you can sit the main meal out in the sun on top of a rock and cook your food that way as well. Also, is you start a fire and heat up a rock (getting it nice and toasty) you can sit your meal on top of the hot rock and cook your food up that way as well. Just a little tip for you. Keep up the good work!!!
What if a rock of suitable shape cant be found? I hear tell of a special substitute, the "Or something", that is often used but have yet to encounter such an object in the wild.
You guys should do a pre-episode video every time before you go out on your trip and discuss some of the things you have that you are bringing, your packs, equipment, weapons/tools etc. in more detail. Then when you are actually out there, talk about the food and such, then do another video afterwards where you discuss what was useful and what wasn't.
***** Well, obviously. But this is an idea for their future videos/survival training expeditions.
Justin Klumpp that is a good idea. but... it would take away from the actual video itself as they discuss that sorta stuff in the video. a 45 min video might only end up being half that
i still love these two, now that im older i really appreciate these guys doing this stuff, like thanks guys
Yeah man i was 14 when this was made and i always loved this stuff now that i am 18 i can appreciate just hanging out with a good mate alot more
@@Unknown-rf1iy literally the same man, i love revisiting these videos every once in a while because they perfectly encapsulate the time period where there was no stress, no exams, nothing to worry about
its better to overpack then underpack
You guys need a huge stick to lean on and to help walk so you won't get exhausted so fast. Plus you can use the stick to push rocks over without touching it with your hand
gaming med meg most of it ain't even sand. It's all hard and dry. Most of the world's sand filled deserts are now in america there across the ocean in places like Egypt and Korea, etc. We don't have many in Texas either.
I have missed the fun exploring that you guys were doing...7 years is too long!!!
I’m so glad yaw never stopped posting, the nostalgia and the memories always makes my day better
WHO ElSE WANTS MORE?!!
Same!! I love seeing how they surive and all the new equipments and gadgets that I have never seen
I live in the sonoran desert (think saguaro cactus) and there is not a lot of water in any desert landscape. It is there but very hard to find unless you have some knowledge of the area. In some desert areas, there are sky islands (VERY large mountains that look dead and dry just like the area surrounding them) and if you climb them you find rocks, trees, and water (sometimes even snow). To survive in a desert you must have knowledge of the area or be VERY lucky. Thanks for sharing your vid. It's a good start and unique because not too many will even try to survive in a desert landscape on youtube. Thanks again.
Lots of wonders in that desert 🏜. I have explored many many miles of this place .
I really love what you guys are doing. This is where its sucks to be British. No where to do anything like this. I would love to do something like this. Keep up the hard work guys!
Should've kept some of the colonies! But hey you can hop on a ship and go colonize again under the king's banner! 😂
Wow I was not expecting another one so quick😀 keep up the good work guys you guys are awesome.
As someone whos lived in Nevada for 3 years now, this is a great source for helping prep just in case anything hits the fan.
"you got cappichino and I got cocoa. what am I? 10 years old" lmao
Great videos and content. A pre-episode set up part of an episode would be good, with maps of the area, tools and equipment you guys are bringing with you. Just a thought. Keep up the good work, and i look forward to more content to come!
Another brilliant adventure from what is shaping up to be a seriously awesome series!
Only just seen this channel, been a big fan of the gaming channels for a while, but love this channel soooo much ❤️
1) open mre food pouches along the long side so your spoon handle don't get gooped up.2) you are 10 times more likely to be stung by a scorpion than a rattlesnake unless it's a Mojave green those bastards will chase you. 😁 3) always zip tents closed to keep bugs, scorpions and snakes out , also shake your boots out jic a scorpion crawls in them.4) always carry more water than you think you will need. 5) stay in the shade and ware light cotton long sleeve shirts and wide brim hat's during the day.
Man I definitely had some nights in the Mojave hiking back to town i could have stepped on some rattlesnakes. Only green I ever came across and could see to for sure identity, rattle was missing or perhaps underdeveloped. Really small. Was shaking its tail like it heard something, though. Thankful I didn't get chased, especially with stories I had heard. I was still a few hours out with no signal so I would have been toast.
You guys are actually pretty good!. Your vid wasn't that long but you handled the dissemination of information really well. I've watched a few of the reality shows that are on TV and they suck. Your video was easy to follow and you gave out some great info for those who would not normally decide to camp in the desert. Great job guys!!
Quite a training session, it was entertaining. I see you do have a great camping setup. Enjoyed it. Thanks.
the start of broke back moutain 2
The tent cost me an arm and a leg, *throws it on the ground* i cracked up ;D
Another good vid. I like that you open with we are tryinf to familiarize ourselves with the terrain and such.. I currently live in the high dessert country of southern Arizona and after 3 years here I'm looking forward to getting back to the mountains of Montana.
I used to live in the Antelope Valley. I know exactly how you guys feel. I go down there sometimes to hike and shoot in desert with my brother and it is not a fun thing to do in the summer. Awesome job guys.
I hope later on these get more intense, and less easy. At this point it more liking a camping trip.
TheMrVikingGamer not really I thought the first one was more of a camping trip but felt that this one they did was a lot more intense.
+TheMrVikingGamer Agreed, this was an easy one. Granted these guys don't seem too experienced, they're out there and doing what they love, so more power to them!
27:02 I thought Meaty was going to put Gunn's hat in the fire pit
Really enjoyed you both. Hope you make lots more, very real world information. I liked that you touched on all the conditions as well. Thanx
I love you guns n meaty .❤️ you guys keep me sane watching ur vids . 👊
As soon as I saw this I thought "FALLOUT!!!" Then when I actually saw it, I thought "These guys have never played Fallout -_-"
+Samuel Lacey Really now? Meaty has multiple playtroughs of Fallout 3 and fallout new vegas on his channel, he played Fallout 3 since it came out. don't know about the older ones tough.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
Yet, he's in the Mojave desert, and makes not even a single New Vegas joke/reference? lol
Miss these videos
Exceptional video. You are correct about the driest being the Mohave. Lived alot of my life in SW Arizona which is in the Sonoran desert. More vegetation and food possibilities there but water is still the biggest problem.
i like how you guys actually show all of what you do unlike other people who only do like 8 mins.
Gunns's face when Meaty pulls out the Spice Pound cake!😂👍
bro 87 degrees is still friken hot like hell
great idea on the dryer lint! supper light weight, ill have to pack some
I love these videos. please show us all the things you use on the trips such as tools and stuff. Really cool thanks for the vids
MORE MORE MORE WE WANT MORE I TELL THEE
I completely agree! (Also, your profile picture matches your comment a lot) :]
Forgot how much I *love* these videos 🥺💙
two essentials for the high dessert that you're missing: a lightweight long sleeve, and a very wide full brimmed hat.
wow i would love to go on an adventure like this! btw what camera do u guys use, the image sharpness is amazin!
I absolutely love all of y'alls channels. I just started watching this one and its really strange seeing the faces that go to the voices I hear playing video games. Absolutely handsome fellas with amazing personalities and adventures!
nice vid guys. good to see a couple of mates just trying some stuff. good place for others to start and learn as you go. cheers
meaty and guns are the best UA-camrs ever
Waited 40 minutes to find out there will be no bush craft.
You guys are great, that was a lot of fun.
one tip for tent pegs in sand: carry small stuff sacks in the desert instead of metal pegs. Fill the sacks with sand, tie on the guy rope and bury the sack. The sacks are lighter than the pegs and really secure when buried. Some people also use aluminium snow pegs in sand.
Hope you continue your outdoor journey, you never really get to watch people do a zero to hero approach to survival and its a great idea. It would be so cool if you kept it up and were eventually doing expert level / Bear Grylls type stuff
Hey guys I just got done whichting the desert video and it was very cool and u sood made a lot more because I learned a lot of stuff in that video. And u guys should make more and more deset vidoes. It was a leaning experience for me. Thx for making the vidoes. Bye
P.S. Go Guns
ITS ZOMBIEE TIMEEE
To bad in California you can only get ten round mags and you also have bullet buttons and crap.
A huge change after coming all the way from Canadia! Come back in August. The nights are balmy and the days only up to 115 or so. Excellent advice... bring a truck, trailer and big steel gear packed with water and gear. I love it.
I've watched all your survival videos (the games), you guys are awesome trying real survival! More of this please! Ohhh I hope you guys realize there's no respawn as your videos get more intense haha
Lets start a trend #youcansurvive #cws
that a flash flood ares
I like this. its not total "thrown in with almost nothing type thing" but its just some friends camping-ish trip, using nature to stay comfortable.
And those mre type things are pretty damn tasty looking.
I love Can We Survive! I'm a big camper too, but not an expert and am never going to try the things that "Pros" do. So it's nice to be able to watch normal dudes trying this stuff that I might try myself. Keep it real guys.
Ive watched all your videos now. My only bit of advice would be for both of you to get a good walking stick.
WE CAN SURVIVE?!
-NAHHHH YOU CANT!
Can’t wait for new videos. I’ve watched all these over and over. Don’t care for the overland videos but know matter what I watch
I don't know whether having very little added sounds or music was a conscious choice or not, but I like it this way. Hearing how silent it is out there is calming, I like deserts.
When you live in the Mojave desert.. lol
Cal city looks just like this.
Yup, I've lived in Mojave and Cal City for about 32 years. I grew up out there. Now I'm in Bako.
It's an awful place to be if you need to survive. Gotta make sure you've got fuel to get yourself to Big Bear.
How did you get mre's? I can't find any ._.
meatwagon22 dutchy here i have one near too ( called the dump )but i dont know if they sell mres i hope so because im going too need them for school camp. btw does every mre hae an frh?
meatwagon22 If you look on the web there is a company that sell dried food and MRE;s its called Be Prepared.com
Great vid! I think I learned more about survival and stuff! Do more please!
These videos are awesome! Keep up the hard work guys.
lived in mojave desert .never ever stick hands in crevices n turn over rocks with bare hands the things like scorpians n snakes hide there .in a true survival situation u never waste ammo target shooting
👍👍👏👏😎😊
Man this is so nostalgic I remember when this came out. I miss those days.
That looks so tiring! I love your channel and hope to see many more videos in the future!
it's amazing how you guys can survive out there you guys are super pros
8:27 Nice battlefield 4 Ghost ring on the pistol
90° in the Mohave desert is extreme? lol. I live in Mohave county, it gets 120° mid summer and 100° at night. try testing your skills then.
haha I know, I was thinking "wait, 90 is allot for you?!" and then I found out that they don't live anywhere near the normal heat XD
Steve Ruedas Yeah I'm not anywhere near you and sometimes it gets hot as fuck here in LA. I've been to Arizona and stayed in a small town called safford but liked it much better than LA. In LA in never rains and is consistently hot for many months. For a few years now we've gotten at least a few 90 degree days in winter and no rain. It rained more in April than December.
Patrolling the Mojave wasteland almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter
Great video, keep up the good work!
I love this idea. Keep doing these survival trips
Patrolling the mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter
why do I feel like meaty was in the army
Maybe swat or something. Marines? He has good tactical knowledge and survival skills. Of course you don’t NEED to have a military background, but it helps.
@@notthesharpesttoolintheshe6692 he wasnt in the armed forces if i remember correctly and he wasnt in the police force
you guys are the best comedy channel on youtube
Dryer lint is an awesome fire starter and so is the dryer sheets. They burn long and hot they're awesome for flint and steel.
were i live 10 degries celsius is hot
gaming med meg Where do you live? 40F is pretty cold to be considered hot somewhere.
I'm pretty much immune to heat. I don't even feel hot when it is 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Pinguino del Rio
God I'm not lol I get hot in 70F weather. 40-50 degrees is perfect for me, but I like the cold. Which sucks because I live in the south US, where it rarely gets cold :/
I love this channel i love yaw even more thx for the vids you two
I did not expect you guys to look the the way you sound lol but I love your guyses videos and keep up the series so I can keep watching then
lol this is luxury camping not survival training.
Well they're not going to risk their lives in the desert with just one bag filled with stuff especially in the most dangerous desert
This isn't "like" camping. This IS camping. I totally understand bringing water... But bringing huge packs, vehicle, trailer, camping tent, sleeping bags, food (and not beef jerky and trail mix, but full MRE's!), along with a store-bought fire starter, firearms... That's NOT survival. My problem isn't with what you guys did. It was an interesting and a good video. My problem is the title was most-misleading. The body can easily (though not comfortably) go 8 days without food. You guys were there 24 hours, and had multiple meals, didn't make a survival shelter, didn't practice any fire making methods with natural materials, didn't practice any methods to obtain food (even while having firearms!), no snares, no figure 4 dead-falls or traps, no cordage making or... Anything... Like I said, this would be a perfectly good video if it were labeled "Two guys with a truck, trailer, tents, sleeping bags, water, MRE's, guns and a fire starter pull off the side of an established trail for a day"
*AnotherVideo itd be better if they did a day hike or 2 day hike and backpacked instead of this camping nonsense. They might as well had a motorhome..... These dudes are so lame
AnotherVideo shut up you don’t have anything better to do that hate on videos and not know what you’re talking about first of all you can’t hunt legally without a license number two the firearm is(Glock 9mm) is for protection not hunting
also whole point of being prepared for a survival situation or apocalypse.
enjoyed the survival video, great job
i love these so much! thanks so much for the entertainment!!
you guys are so cool i like it when you have longer vidos
Love your videos guys and love your survival techniques
Good job guys. Keep up the good work.
Great promotion for the outdoors, keep up the good work!
Oooo the nostalgia. I started watching you always win when I was 14 then I started watching this channel. I am now 23. God how time moves.
Same!!!!!!!!
