ikr, and i think a lot of it comes down to how ‘honest’ evangelion is as a piece of art. The evolution of the creator and the maturity of the series along the years really makes the ending feel like a natural and satisfying close to this journey
Evangelion and Code Geass have raised my standard so high that I find watching anything else bland and pointless,especially TV Shows.Nothing can fill that void in me,especially when art speaks to you directly.Return me to nothingness.
Yeah tbh I don't think I can ever experience the feeling of watching evangelion ever again. Idk if this is the right word but for me, it's the most "honest" piece of fiction I've ever experienced
@@mlg_lame Yea there are some art masterpieces you only experience once. Not to mention that at least some of us that are drawn to it have a predisposition, I am borderline and have always been drawn to the darker, realer side of things and as for the original anime+End Of Evangelion the director was struggling with depression and immense stress, the original EP 25 and 26 highlight just how bleak our existence is and I do prefer those over the EoE finale which was literally '' This is what you wanted right?! '' by the director. Even so Eva has so many potential endings that there is no real one but its also not a cliffhanger, creating something like this truly showcases a brilliant mind and an amazing team behind it. As for philosophy that can be disputed all day long to no effect since it does hit hard and bias is strong. It's both a blessing and a curse that it exists showcasing what class really means but also if every anime, tv series or media was like that it would be a null effect. To quote EP25 '' A mind that wants to live and a heart that wants to die''.
@@manqkasfasa1013 i so badly want to know what other pieces of art you find yourself admiring. i feel the same, and am trying to find things that would make me feel like this has. only a couple of songs and a book have made the list though.
Binge watched the series and the movies at 44. Only anime I ever liked when I was younger was the dragon ball versions. I was so sad that my emotional ride was over at the end of "thrice upon a time" that I'm afraid I've been ruined for other anime but now I will be searching.
@mlg_lame , so I watched Code Geass cause someone mentioned it. It was good, but not Eva good. That said....I found one that beat Eva emotionally. Just my opinion. I have one episode left. Darling in the Franxx. Guess I'm getting soft in my older age lol, but what a beautiful story it's been.
@truckwhisperer116 i recommend you Takt op.Destiny. evangelion has been my favorite for a while, and I even have a evangelion inspired tattoo. Takts story certainly isn't as good as eva, but it has that emotion you are looking for, i think. or maybe it'll become your new favorite who knows.
@elementalmocha thank you. I've watched so many great series since this post. A few off the top of my head include Steins Gate, Eureka Seven, Clannad, Fruits Basket....man, there are so many! Clannad probably hit the hardest tho...
