Hey Paul, have you ever trying turning subtitles on, it shows the direction the sounds are coming from and is super helpful when tunneling underground to avoid or find lava.

Agressive mobs don't spawn in mushroom island biome. But they can in underground biomes (caves). Exept those in spawners (cave spiders). And there are NO villages.

Hey Paul, people have probably already said it but no mobs (except the mooshroom) can spawn in the mooshroom biom naturally, the only way they can spawn is from a spawner which is why you didn’t run into any dangerous mobs besides from the cave spiders and the silverfish

If ice spikes and mushroom biomes r rare then i got lucky by spawning next a mushroom biome, ice spikes, 3 guardian temples(forgot wut they called), and a village. Slight flex👌
Edit:Just so u know 2 ocean temples things were spawned close to each other and another a little farther. Just to continue the flex

Villages do spawn in mushroom biomes but they are not made of wood. They are made of mushroom and they have a unique design.
