I was born in 93. My mother bought us these Crash Games and along with my younger brother we all played together. It didn't take very long for us to get better than our mom, but even now she's played some of the remake with me and I'm so grateful for her taking so many L's. I owe my love of games to her and Crash.

It is when the series started going downhill. If for no other reason than it couldn't match the peak that was 2
I like Crash 3, but prefer 2 because of all the secrets. The third game tossed most secrets under time relics and death route paywalls.

Crash 2 is basically just a slightly better Crash 1. It still has a lot of fundamental issues like inconsistent difficulty, repetitive design, terrible boss battles, clunky jumping (in the PS1 version) and some underwhelming gem challenges. It's still a Donkey Kong Country game with none of the qualities that made those games fun.

The first 3 Crash games were specifically designed for the d-pad. The analog stick actually makes precise movement more difficult. Fun fact, Toys for Bob remembered that and designed Crash 4 with the same mentality.

Dpad hurts my thumb too much and makes it so that I can’t make some landings
The reason why is the first playstation controller only had the d-pad so naughtydog had to build the game around this fact

I commend Choctopus for having the discipline to not get all of the boxes. My wannabe completionist ass will still go for them knowing full well that I’m going to at least miss one, two, or at most three.
I was able to get five while running through the stages. I have since gotten a few more, including the green and blue gems.
Its not worth the possible death especially later in the game

Going from the generous crash 4 jumps and air time to crash 1 jumps is a crash course in mobility torture.
OG Crash 1 suspended bridge levels are actually easier. one can just walk past single tile gaps, the remaster is so much more precise.
It also uses universal jump physics that were also used for the Crash 2 and 3 remakes in the same trilogy. The jump mechanics were similar to the OG Crash 3. OG Crash 1 had different jump physics. So as you said, the jumps in the remaster are more precise and difficult.
In both versions you can just jump on the rope and bypass 100% of the challenge. Or just git gud and learn how to jump.
I've heard Crash say "WOAH!" one too many times.
I've heard Uka-Uka laugh one too many times, Crash's gurgling noise, that "Whoa!" is burned into my brain...I tried so many times that the game eventually audio lagged and I had to uninstall it.

Just a note about Metroid Dread - it's a continuous story, so you might want to consider playing the previous 2D games first - the Prime games are cool too, but they're like an off-shoot story, so not necessary for playing the main series; I won't say you have to, but I know I'd certainly watch you play them (assuming you wanted to, at least)
I would kill to see Choc play the 2D Metroids, along with the Prime games.
no the prime games come before the first game in the series I think and Fusion is at the end of the timeline
@@johntrellston9514 The 2D games are in order of release, Dread takes place immediately after Fusion, and Prime is definitely after the first game; I want to say they come before II, but don't hold me to that. I can 100% say the Prime games are not first, even Samus' logs in the game confirm as much when she calls on past experiences. I'm fairly certain Zero Mission is also set before Prime
The Prime series is set between 1 and 2, because after 2 the metroids are almost completely exterminated, making it hard to tell stories about the creatures the series is named for. (Later games ended up contriving a bunch of secret metroid cloning projects to keep them around.) Zero Mission is a remake of the first game.

Crash Bash is one of my favorite party games ever! It's very unique and has amazing music! I'd love to see that played on this channel some day

Yeah, if I remember correctly all but one activision studio is currently being assigned to help with call of duty/warzone. And the other I believe was sent to help get a blizzard game out of dev hell. So no remasters or Crash games for the near future it seems, sadly.

I was born in 96, but my earliest memories, and what got me into video games, was watching my mom play Crash 1 to 100%, I even still have the envelope that she wrote the codes from the bonus levels on.

I just got the platinum trophy for this game, it was VERY hard, to the point of unfair when it came to the relics.
Crash 1 is really hard, the hardest before Crash 4 came into existence. If I played it again, I probably wouldn't die as much as when I was a kid but I'd still struggle in some parts of the game :P

What and skip Wrath of Cortex? I do love Twinsanity, though. I played it yesterday since it was Crash Bandicoot's 25th anniversary. Sonic, Pokemon, and Crash, all celebrating milestones in horrendous 2021.

Twinsanity, whether it succeeded or not, tried something very new and daring.

I just managed to get the platinum trophy in all 3 trilogy games in about 8 hours each. The 1st one was definitely the hardest. Now I'm attempting Crash 4, though that will take some time. Cheers.

@@THO-BRO2000 Yeah, actually. Crash 4 didn't take very long, either. Managed to get into top 1000 on a lot of the time trials.
Crash trilogy took me 8h each for a platinum, CTR took me around 20-25 hours, and Crash 4 took me 70 hours.

Ayyy, nice. Gonna be fun watching you go through the Crash games. I was never a fan of them if I'm imagine. My childhood was more Spyro and Abe's oddysee exoddus. It was infinitely more fun to 100% Spyro so it won. Looking forward to these though. Also, i believe there's a dlc level for this game that's infamous which would be fun to see ya do. Best of luck with the rest
1 year late but yes there is it was originally supposed to be in the original game but naughty dog had no time to make it easier the level is basically slippery climb but worse it still existed in crash 1 you could access it with an Action Replay code it was finished but there are a few glitches but it is finishable they fixed and restored it as DLC for the N-Sane Trilogy it was called Stormy Accent
7:09 Sonic Shuffle. I wish they made more than one. The load times were beyond abysmal, but the mini games were good, and since it was card-based instead of dice-based, there was some actual strategy to movement.
Bro, that was my game. If they did remaster, they should allow you to skip your opponents battle and mini events. And I do agree with the loading times. But man, the game was so fun!! lol And lower the damn difficulty on the computers. They be cheating.
This game wasn't too bad for me since I grew up playing the original games, not even Stormy Ascent was too much.
What was too much was going for all those platinum relics, the first game wasn't designed with them in mind.

For what it’s worth, I like some video games but with poor hand eye coordination I suck at most of them. Choctopus is doing great
I dont know if you know this but at the walls there are some spikes that are not there you can jump behind the wall that makes the part really easy

I loved Crash 3 the most for sure. For the first 3 my order goes backwards, basically. I loved the huge variety that Warped brought to the table and how great it felt to play most of the stages. The only ones I didn't enjoy were the flying ones. The ground vehicles and water stuff were both fun. I also enjoyed the bosses and extra power ups from there the most.

Sonic Shuffle !! Super underrated and mostly unknown game because it was only released on the dreamcast
You know you can just stand on papu papu chair and wait for him to slam his staff and then jump on his head. Also you can walk on the rope in the bridge level and then in the level where you’re having to jump on the bounce box just to get up higher there’s a thing in the background where you can jump on it and fall off and then walk to the left and skip almost everything. Remember all of these from playing the older crash 1 game.
I gave up on Native Fortress.
It was awful. Ironically, I got the farthest in Stormy Ascent and I've seen that mask so many times...it hurt.

I started to play this game myself. The N. Sane Trilogy is my first time playing the original games.
I've said this before but the only Crash games I've played are Twinsanity, Tag Team Racing, and Nitro Kart.
I wasn't even born yet when the first game came out. I wasn't born until October 22, 1997. Crash 2 came out 9 days later. (I know this because I watched Caddicarus' review of all three games.)

Even when I was a kid, Crash Bandicoot 1 looked kinda boring and obsolete when comparing it to Crash 2 and 3, Crash 1 is easily the worst in the trilogy.
However, Crash 1 is the hardest of the trilogy.
Well being the hardest could be part of the reason why it's the worst of the trilogy.
