Been anxiously waiting for more! When I get the kit, I will use your videos in place of the instructions. Invaluable resource. By the time I'm ready to buy, you should be well along in your build!
Agreed. Nice to see this model being actually built rather than taken out of a box, talked about, packed away again, never to be seen built, like so many other channels that claim to be modelling channels but which are, in effect, little more than dopamine mines for fragile egos.
Another great build instalment, Steve. Always informative and entertaining. I opted to spend the budget on several 1/32 and 1/24 kits than to purchase this kit,,,,, for now. Used a, 1 Man Army paint mask set for two Airfix, 1/24 Mk.IXcs with great results and would recommend them if you are considering the Lancaster set. I was so impressed with the masks it is now a factor in deciding on future kit projects. Reveal videos of the Spitfires are posted on my channel to see the masking results.
Spectacular job sir! Very nice to see and again, very nice to listen at the background...apart when they were shooting rabbits :-). Jokes apart, It's all even very nicely explained and I don't think it's easy to do that on camera! Thank you for sharing your expertise! Good luck with the Tornado...looking forward for part 7!!
@@TheModelShed You're doing a great job Sir! Your sentences are very useful and very clear even for a non native English speaker like me! I can't understand where you find time to build such big monsters, so fast and even doing such precious tutorials at the same time: it's though indeed! The interesting thing is that slowly you're convincing me to buy A Border Model Lancaster! I like big models even dough I am not fast at all!! keep up the great job!! All the best of luck and sincere admiration!!
@@TheModelShed Also...inspired by this build, I am watching again "Appointment in London" and "Dam Busters" even dough in black and white, these movies were done relatively shortly after WW2, using real, WORN, Lancasters! Not CGI recreations. Especially in the first one, there are many images showing the operations of Bomber Command. I found them useful even for modelling reference.
Hi Steve, by what I hear about Border instructions are not the best, so I think you are very wise to do whst you are doing st this stage, bedt regards from with this great build, but I would like to see the display case it is going into, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
@@TheModelShed Following this build with great interest. I built the nose and am currently n the process of getting the aftermarket. Ordered the ASK Masks and the barrels yesterday. I think I’ll go with the Quinta decals for the instruments and radios, I found the decals in the Border nose impossible. I’ll be using your videos in place of the instructions. One thing, you left the mid-upper framing in black. Many period photos seem to show it matching the camo colours of the top of the fuselage. In any case, thanks for the series and for responding.
Matt black turrets with a bit of light dry brush work and shiny glass always looks dreamy to me...Beautiful!
It must be so satisfying taking a bunch of parts and turning them into something so realistic great job 👍👍🙏💞💞🍺🍺
It is thanks Eddy👍
The completed turret is a display in and of itself. Superb work. Looking forward to more of the lanc build.
Thanks John I’ll step up the build when I’ve finished the Tornado. That’s a client build so is taking more priority at the mo
Love the sound of the cow's mooing as your building this masterpiece superb stuff as always 👍
I like to hear them or the sheep as well. Very calming when you’re trying to concentrate 🐄🐑
pristine clear parts - you are a master Masker
Thanks Ralph 👍
BTW, I love the sound of the rain hitting your shed roof. Very ASMR!
You’re not alone Ron - lots. of folk comment on that 👍

I hope so Ron I’ll push the build on quite a bit once the Tornado is finished and Telford is behind us
The turret is a small model itself! Seautiful work as usual!
Thanks Raleigh 👍
ya know you must be a master model builder every model you've built is out standing can't wate to see it finished

Thanks Jim hopefully it will turn out ok - a way to go yet though

A link to your channel?
Yes thanks I’ve got the OMA masking set for this one. Used them on my Tempest build they’re really excellent and work well in 1/32
This series of videos has cost me a lot of money😊
😬😬😬oops sorry about that. 😂😂
Nice update
Thank you 👍
Cool model. 🛩
Cool indeed 😀

Thank you It isn’t easy - the concentration of building sometimes interrupts my sentences! Audio editing stitches it back together though 😬😁

Thanks Les I think it might end up on a wall - that’s how the friend I’m building it for displays his larger models
You have a very steady hand!👍👍. A watchmaker?
No but it’s something I often wish I’d taken up
Did you consider some type of burnishing fluid for the metal barrels? Any suggestions?
I didn’t Ron but there is a product which blackens metal including brass but I can’t remember what it’s called 🤔🙄

Steve, didn't you start on a 1/700 warship, it seems to have disappeared into the aether?
I didn’t start it Finlay - still in the wings. So many kits - so little time 😬😂
and so persize also with every thing
👍
Glad to see you back, it.seeks.ages since you last posted
Thanks I get fewer uploads these days I do a lot of stuff on Patreon so that takes time away from UA-cam
