you can say that again, mine is a Hesston 4570 and I can't even get those off. My impact wrench won't even get them loose. I just crawl up there and file them sharp while they are in place.
i have one love the baler . but if you plug it it takes a lot more than a broom handle. you have learn to not look back because you neck will get sore .
I own a 1999 8530 Case IH. The only downside for me with these balers is sharpening the knives, the ones in the chamber can be easily removed and sharpened, but the knives on the plunger are a royal pain in the arse.
You need to also mention about the 3 shear pins in these balers. A very good feature for the design of protecting the 3 features that they apply to.

If you run over a stump or a well head when you're baling you've got a lot bigger problems than your needles getting busted!
I have a Hesston 4550 and honestly don't know why anyone would buy a conventional baler.
