15 mins worth of highlights from a goalless Div 3 game taking top billing. If only MotD was like that now rather than it being a sycophantic PR exercise for the top flight that it has now turned into
@@tatata1543 I prefer a bit of variety in life and am sick and tired of watching saturation coverage of the usual suspects every week (until the coronavirus stopped everything). What I would prefer to see is a 2-2 or 3-2 or a 3-3 from the lower leagues than a goalless bore draw from the top flight (and there have been plenty of them this season). When ITV showed regional football, too, back in the 70s and 80s it gave much needed exposure to clubs lower down the pyramid so kids might get interested in going to watch those sides live - there's also a wider issue around ITV's decision to do away with regional identity but I won't go there. Now, cos the same clubs get all the coverage that then makes kids just want to watch them (only on TV of course 'cos they can't afford to go to a live game - and they usually live miles away from the team they claim to 'support' so never actually go to a game even if they could afford it) instead of their local team. All I'm suggesting is a bit of variety and a recognition that there is plenty of life outside of the top flight. What would be the harm in showing a game from outside the top flight just now and again (TV rights aside) especially in the last third of the season when promotion races are hotting up (apart from this year of course!!)?
@@tatata1543 you miss the point. Back then BBC & ITV were contracted to show games from lower divisions. You win some you lose some. I don't give a damn about goals but enjoy proper manly tackles & tactical nous. Alan Oakes played nearly 800 games. Respect that to today's prima donnas
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the login password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
The ESPN caption refers to Leyton Orient but at this time they were still known as plain old Orient. They went back to using the 'Leyton' prefix about 1987 ish.
Interesting how Motty describes the teams as being comprised of “honest” players! Compare that to what many of the modern players are like, Pogba being a prime example! Great crowd for the third tier and that big side opposite the camera was very impressive! Dave Sutton, Sutty for England!!! 👍
Tim Ward rubbish! It’s an accurate reflection, I’m not a Man United fan, but I know a good many season ticket holders there who wholeheartedly agree with my view!
@@riverofpeople Pogba is an easy target. In his last season at Manchester United he had most assists, most goals, most chances created, most shots, most duels won, most possession won, most forward passes. Not to mention running the show in the World Cup Final.
Goodness. Alan Oakes started playing on 1959! Over 20 years & still going strong. Nearly 800 games! Today's lot can retire multi millionaires after a few seasons in the top flight.
Morley was in his own half when Geddis passed it, as well being behind two defenders. All they had to do was pause it and it's clearly onside. Disappointed in Jimmy and co there.

LRD This was a boring nil nil draw from div 3, don’t see how that is any better than the same thing from the epl. They are both crap.

@@tatata1543 oh, shut up. I'm happy seeing it. You can't predict games. Don't like then don't watch.
what a season it was for Villa. Winning the First Division title and the European Cup the following season.

@Tristan Zayn instablaster :)
You don't have to ask what day these games were played on

What a team Orient had back then

Shallow dinosaur dig at Pogba

Hi Good afternoon and let me make it quite clear that Bob and i have absolutely no idea WTF Jimmy Saville
is doing in the Studio Next Door.
Morley was in his own half when Geddis passed it, as well being behind two defenders. All they had to do was pause it and it's clearly onside. Disappointed in Jimmy and co there.
Wat no spurs? We always seemed to be on MOTD that season
Were probably on the big match
shilton at least would have won 2 EC medals , 79 and 80 before J.R. in 68 and 82 ?
