i haven't felt this patriotic in a video game since liberty prime in fallout 4
Woww
What a throwback
Better to be dead than red
There's a jetpack at level 8
i like it when my Democracy is Managed
Of course the Snow Planet is called "Heeth", I can appreciate a Star Wars "Hoth" parody. ❄
Not to mention the Terminids who are totally not Tyranids from warhammer
They also have legally-distinct AT-STs and I love it xD
EDIT: AT-RT My bad
But the Pelican tho
The game is full of little references like this
@@cjrecio5702 those aren't any kind of at-st, I forgot the actual name but clones used them during the clone Wars.
This game looks fucking fun. Just pure carnage. And it's only $40? I'm sold
It's so fuckin good. Lol I wish I wasn't at work rn 😔
Getting my copy tomorrow 🤗
Congratulations on making your first step to issuing Democracy across the system!!!!
@@manwithballsonarm6775 Nope, there's an entire other faction that you have to engage completely differently because they have similar weapons to you. Nice try being That Guy, but you aren't him.
@@krodmandoon3479the robots got tanks, first time I saw one I was running away.

Oh I forgot about the strategem button combos. That was a thing in the first game too. They literally just did that so that when you're panicking you're more likely to fail haha.
Steel your nerves SOLDIER! Input those arrows like your life depends on them!
@@Justyn_Lim_ Because it very much does!
its such a genius idea too. instead of having a dedicated keybind for each specific action, also works great for controllers due to limited buttons. and the panic element was very real, at least when I played the first game.
@@selectionn I've always been thinking about alternative control schemes for things like weapon wheels for example, and this game's strategem inputs were pretty much exactly what I came up with so I'm pretty stoked it exists lol
Another system I would like to see devs try out is the fighting game motion input style. Hold L1 and input a fighting game move to get various actions, a lot of possibilities there
Friendly fire is Al’so a thing. Watch your placements since day calling an ammo supply could get a friendly swuashed if the pod lands on them
Players: The game has bugs
Helldiver Devs: Exactly

Playing against the automotons on higher difficulties in a dark or foggy environment is nightmare fuel. Big terminator vibes. I like them better than the bugs
I like how different it feels fighting the bugs compared to the bots, it takes a completely different strategy
@@LylasFightclubagree! It's a great change of pace
One enemy type turns the game into starship troopers, the other turns it into Star wars/Terminator lol
Went from bugs on mid difficulty to terminators on mid and I felt like I was in terminator dday
You couldn't wait to use the term nightmare fuel could you
''The Only Good Bug, is a Dead Bug'' the patch last night fixed my crash issues on PC so I've been having a blast with it now for a few hours.
Same here. Not a single crash in hours of gameplay after the patch.
I played all yesterday on PS5 with no crashes. Patch came out and today I've crashed twice and I'm not getting the medals or credits that I earn lmao
Love how they literally released a Starship Troopers game last year and Helldivers II just came out this week and did it better top to bottom.
Halo ODST´s but with more DEMOCRACY
you can name your ship halo of patriotism 😂
Its halo ODST but better

Dispensing freedom one bullet casing at a time.
And you're dispensing them VERY RAPIDLY (depending on the gun ofc)
For liberty, and Managed Democracy!
Something I love about seeing people cover this game is getting to see the galactic map and being like oh I know when you started playing, or if it’s a live stream you can see how we are doing while you are busy with other stuff. It’s a great community game.
If you’ve played the first, you know exactly what you’re getting into. It’s that but surprisingly a lot better

I have been waiting 6 years for a sequel to Helldivers, this is glorious!
Video games have a strong start for 2024 with PalWorld, Tekken 8, Infinite Wealth, Persona 3 Reload and now Helldivers 2
2024 is going to be so, so busy
And dragons dogma 2 and Ronin are right around the corner lol

Never seen a game with so many bugs!
This went over my dead body!
"It's not a bug it's a feature" 😂😂😂
Lots of bots too smh
Never played a Bethesda game, eh? Or Deep Rock Galactic?
ROCK AND STONE
Other games: This is just early access guys there might be some bugs.
Helldivers 2: Explain yourself. Are you an enemy of... DEMOCRACY?
I know there's already a Starship Troopers FPS, but this just feels more like Starship Troopers.
Yeah this has the more political satire that the starship troopers movies had, this game reminds me more of starship troopers more than the game they released and I own Terran Command
The General reminds me of a Mr.Gutsy
didn't think about that, so spot on!
I feel like if he were still alive and active, the tutorial General would have been played by R. Lee Ermey.
Just has that vibe you know.
I could totally see that actually.
RIP R. Lee Ermey. What an amazing actor and person. Semper Fi, carry on.
He would scare everyone away from playing the game or actually get the players to do push-ups in real life!😂 He was a quality actor and soldier.🫡
Reminds me of Starship troopers
Re-watched it very recently. You were quicker than me to type it down.
The first game was inspired by that movie. Same enemies, has a bit more factions in the first one, same tone to the story, and many of the same voice overs. That's not a complaint. Just pointing out why it it so similar to star ship troopers.
I heard that the PC version has crashing issues and matchmaking problems for both groups and randos. Until that is figured out I'll be waiting to buy this game. Otherwise it looks so much fun. Just awesome. Loved the first one. Also you can skip the first one. It's essentially this game but top down instead. This one looks better graphically of course and seems more dynamic in the combat since it's third person
@@aliquidgaming1068 it's missing The Illuminate from the first game, but there's plenty of space to bring them, and one more faction in. As for PC issues, i had one crash when attempting to change cosmetics, and i had to spam the quickplay button for quite a bit till i got a match. Buuuuut i've only played for an hour so.
@@CorvusCorvidayfirst few hours fine and only 1 crash middle of a mission towards the end, annoying, but no issues hours latter, so not as bad as other have had it with constant crashing, which probably has something to do with the dodgy anti-cheat they use.
Reminds me of Deep Rock Galactic which is a fantastic game.
Me and mates are loving this game so far!
The Starship Troopers game I’ve been waiting years for lol.
What about the starship troopers game that came out last year that plays literly like this ?????
@@byronbarrientos8471 what about it🤷🏾♂️ Not into FPS anymore. So saying a FPS and a 3rd person plays the same is a stretch. 😂 And it’s on steam (Don’t have a pc). If it ever comes to console I’ll give it a go of course.
@@byronbarrientos8471that game is not nearly as fun though.
And the coolest thing is fighting the other enemy type turns it into the Terminator game that people have been waiting for
@@master-dukecuthbert5061 lol
Getting blown up by friendly arty and your own turrets, has never been this fun!!!
Heavy armored bugs built like main battle tanks the size of houses, bug swarms that even if you close your eyes and shoot everywhere you're still bound to hit something, planet glassing orbital cannons, friendly ire orbital bombardment, non-stop panic screams everywhere that no matter if you all get separated, you know where everyone is, yeah...Chaos is putting it lightly
Been having a blast with this game love the intro for missions and the extractions at the end. Can’t wait to see them add more stuff in the game like the mechs they previewed in one of the trailers.
I was a big fan of the first one and..they went and improved EVERY DAMN THING about it 😂
Hell divers? That just sounds like Earth defence force with extra steps
The game looks sick and really fun tbh
Plus Defiance with a dash of outriders.
the magic lies in all the extra steps
@@LividPigeon exactly what i said haha yes sir!
trust not even close to EDF
@@XicorVT I know, I watched the video, I was just making a joke about humans shooting giant bugs
I would definitely recommend playing the first one at some point, too! though if you don't like twin stick shooters it might be hard to get into.
It's always fun watching someone new learn about the pure chaos and, as you put it, unadulterated fun of the Helldivers world. I was a little worried seeing the trailers that the shift from the more cartoonish vibe 1 had that made it unique and silly to a more realistic 3D artstyle would rob it of some of that uniqueness, making it look like just another 3rd Person Shooter, but they've really knocked it out of the park. The enemies are less cartoonish and funny, but that makes the intensity of the firefights even better, and they lost none of the goofiness in the voice lines. The sound design is wonderful, but my favorite thing is the world aesthetics are so vastly different. A lot of the maps from HD1 were very same-y, even amongst factions, but out of the three planets I've been to so far they've all be wildly different. Enemy AI is top notch, too. After two days of fighting bugs on Difficulty 5, I thought I was hot shit and tried a Diff 5 robot mission and it was pure hell for the first 10 minutes until I got to grips with the new tactics.
became a Hell Diver on launch. I'm doing my part
As someone who was introduced to the first game like 3-4years ago and loved it, it’s been amazing seeing this one pop off. I honestly didn’t think it’d get THIS big tho when it was announced but I’m just overjoyed
(Btw for those wondering I’m pretty sure there’s gonna be a new faction soon for HD2 cuz there were three in the first game and I think they’re just waiting for the plot to reach a certain point)
I'll watch this once I get a chance to play this weekend 😊

At the end of the training mission if you go right you can get a flamethrower, its next to a cadaver
I love the attention to details
I love this starship troopers type game it's definitely needed
Surprisingly pretty for $40? It's staggeringly brilliant. This game's install size (at least on Steam) is 70 GBs. It's literally 10 times bigger than the prequel from 2015, and still uses the same price tag from its launch day.
Deep Rock Galactic + Halo ODST + Warhammer 40k space marine
also EDF
Also starship troopers. Basically a bunch of iconic sci fi all rolled into one
my funniest moment so far was when extracting the drop ship landed on top of me and killed me
Watching You playing this game has helped realize what game I want to buy in the morning lol
I love the max payne dive, it's so fun
This game is literally the combination of all sci fi in games nd movies I like it’s glorious
Impressed by how beefy and crisp the weapons sound! Game looks great!
The attention to details is absolutely amazing a shame Sony didnt market it better, i didnt know of it until today.
this video felt so wholesome 😁😁😁
Need more of this immediately
Couldn’t stop laughing at the orbital drop. Thinking he’s pretty close to that. Ded💀
Best Starship Troopers game ever made. The only one.
This is basically starship troopers extermination but a lil bit better
This feels like a combination of 40k (Imperial Guard v. Tyranids) and Starship Troopers and I fucking love it.

I will never forgive Sony for making this an exclusive
I died at the same place during the tutorial 😂
Even though I don't like this kind of games I really like this one!
This looks sick, I’m getting this.
Got some major starship troopers vibes watching this... I like it
i hope the dev add the iluminate or something like that (from the first game)
Starship troopers looks great!
I have had so much fun with this so far
I need that game now!
I like how it has many mechanisms from the previous game despite being TPS.
I love this game so much. It has such a bright future. I just hope they continue to update it and listen to their community.
They already hinted at the return of the third enemy faction from the first game and the return of mechs as future updates. So don't worry there is more content coming.
Once they get all these connection and server issues ironed out X3
@@Awoken_Remmuz Compared to other games they seem to be handling servers issues well.

So starship troopers
looks awesome
Now this scratches a starship troopers itch I have had for a very long time
On the galactic map there is over a 100 planets. Im guessing over time we get more and more planets?
There is a jetpack stratagem!
So that's what humans are up to in the Deep Rock Galactic universe
What a time to be alive
Master chief would be a perfect fit for a live action helldivers 2

Loved the first one.
Bit disappointed couch co op is unavailable.
This game makes me wanna grow a mullet with free bird blasting in the background full on Democracy!
A good kind of chaos!
There is a jetpack you can unlock, they are also adding exo-suit walkers and vehicles in the near future.
that sounds incredible
5:25 "Oh look how many of them there are" My brother in Democracy...
Ahhhh yes. Starship Troopers the game lol
this gives me space troopers vibes
I see a lot of influence from 40K and starship troopers, the devs said 40K influenced them if I remember correctly too
This reminds me of starship trooper.
Playing with another squad member and actually feeling like we’re trying to survive and not just steal kills is nice. Also it makes it easier to get optional objectives
I loved the first game as a little arcade like almost for me and my mates but this second game is soo much better
“I am [redacted] and this is my favourite item in the superstore” amazing game ode to Steam’s Commander Shepard game reviews
It’s so genuinely fun. Only problem I ran into is that the game bugged out at the very beginning of the tutorial, so within one minute I already experienced a progress-impeding bug 😂 I’m sure it’ll get worked out but it kinda blew my mind that play testers hadn’t found a bug that pops up within the first objective of the first mission of the game.
Not the ODST sequel i expected. But the one i wanted.
