Powerful song, brings tears to my eyes. There is so much hatred in this world if we could all extend a loving hand our fellow man, what a better world this could be
This song meant SO MUCH to our troops in the Vietnam War when it came out. They saw so many of their fellow soldiers be carried off injured or die in front of them. Most were under 25 years old. Imagine serving there in horrendous conditions, and hearing this song.
This song was popular when my Dad was a young man age 37 when he served in the Vietnam War. He told me he cared for all of the young men who just graduated from High School or drafted and sent to war. Rest In Peace every beautiful soul! Remember we are all brothers ……somehow we have forgotten this most important thing to love our brother! ✝️🙏❤️ I pray we find ourselves.
The message in the song stands the test of time, this was from the 60s. Every single word is as important today is it was back then, maybe we should play it a little bit more in our lives… The world would be a better place
Hey Satori My G, This is a deep & powerful song that has touched the lives of many and will continue to do so, because it's message is a message of love!!!
This title is taken from Father Flanagan's Boy's Town, which was on a statue outside of its halls. The statue had a young boy carrying another boy on his back with this saying underneath. If you're interested, watch the movie "Boy's Town" and you'll see how the saying originated.
Probably the greatest song that was ever written. The original statement which led to the song was taken from a rely a black kid gave to a white man who saw the kid carrying the kid's brother on his back. When asked by the white man if he was tired of carrying him the kid replied: He ain't heavy he is my brother. I have a stature that represents the kid and his brother which displays him carrying his brother on his back. The inscription on the base of that stature reads: He ain't heavy he's my brother.
This song is so powerful if you watch the video of Vietnam soldiers carrying their wounded brothers from the battlefield. The words are so powerful you can relate it to a lot of situations
Very beautiful song, it became the song for the Military due to their No Brother Left Behind motto. The song was very popular during the Vietnam War, it was perfect back then and it's perfect now. Music is very powerful, it can cross borders, change people's thought's, like other's have said if we all extend a hand to other's love, hope and peace will hopefully overcome our troubles. Jackie Deshannon said it all when she sang what the world needs now is love, sweet love, it's the only thing there's just too little of
I haven’t heard this song since I was a kid. It is amazing that this song is still poignant today. Much like Marvin Gaye’s “what’s going on”… what time is sun came out another protest going on in United States. It was a lot of homework on social upheaval at the time, as much as. The song is still so relevant today.
Thx for giving it a try. God is first and foremost for me, it's Easter week and I was compelled to share this with you .There's no proof, save my "by faith" take, this is a song written for a journey with Jesus, but who in the heck uses "laden" as a lyric (Matthew 11:28) and does so twice, then "sadness more aren't filled with the gladness" then love one another (1 John 4:11)? Crazy. Love it, love your spirit and this channel. Your fan -- Paul not Saul
Very pale for a song and I wish you could be that way the people love each other and none of this who’s got what who’s this who’s that I don’t like you you’re too late you’re too dark you do this you do that it’s sickening why can’t we just except each other I am the type either like here I don’t and I don’t make any excuses for it but you got to do something against me for me to not like you erase and nothing to do with color and there’s color in both races prejudice we all need to grow up I love everybody and if you do something wrong to me and mom enough to tell you to your face and then that’s a wrap Liz the queen
Thank you so much for reading my comment and Siri didn’t exactly get what I was trying to say correct what I was trying to say is it doesn’t matter what race you are I like you no matter what the case may be until you do something wrong to me and then I’ve got the gods enough I won’t sneak behind anyone’s back I tell your dad to your face when I got to say has nothing to do with race one way or another I wouldn’t care for a kangaroo with a polkadot veil that’s the way I am I enjoy watching you I think you’re great at your job you get straight to the point and I wish you all the best and you really know what this song is about I noticed how intense you listen to it I can look in someone’s eyes I can look at their body language I’m 77 but believe me I know punk Liz the queen

This song should be played at the beginning of each church service, and the service should end when the song ends.

🙌🏾
If only.
We used to celebrate brotherhood. Now we celebrate victimhood. What sad times we are living in.
Classic Manchester band... before Oasis! 😅
Did the lyrics mean anything to you?
Love this song! But next time you do a lyrics video, please either reduce yourself or show the lyrics in front so you are not hiding them!
