I used to brush used Lego, too. Until one time i didn't get to do it for two or three days and had that stuff sitting in the watered bin for that time. I realized that most of the dirt did come off with the rinsing after sitting that long in water. These days, i simply put everything into the bin, get some soap on top, add water and let it sit for a few days. I give it a little spin each day, to make sure the water gets everywhere, but that's it. After rinsing, most stuff is clean. So i can concentrate to scrub the last five to ten pieces that were really heavy dirty and didn't come fully clean yet. Saves a lot of time and trouble. The adventurers were hitting the time spot when i wasn't attracted to Lego. Hadn't played my old stuff in years and it would take a few more years for me to realize that i could complete my castle collection by the use of the almighty eBay 😂. I'm still glad i gave eBay a shot 20 years ago. Checking the current prices of today, i wouldn't have gotten so far. These days it's way too expensive for my taste. I happened to live in times when complete castles would be deemed expensive if they hit the 50 bucks mark 😄 Anyways, nice video. Your animations are awesome! I also really like the look of that plane. Those stickers just make it even better. Although i agree with you that prints would have been nice.
I’ll have to try that method, I can’t believe how much time I’ve spent cleaning this haul. eBay 20 years ago must have been a dream! I’m constantly kicking myself for not completing holes in my collection before prices jumped so high, but that’s life I guess 🤷♂️ I’m glad you liked the animations! It’s been really rewarding learning the process. 😄
Nice! Yeah, a few of the pieces were missing or too damaged, including the sarcophagus. I’ll have to buy a new one in the correct color at some point. And Thanks!
Always yearned for these sets, they were just *barley* before my time. When I was a kid, I had the notion that the bad characters were your conventional Victorian era grave robbers, but johnny and friends were trying to foil their plans and keep them from profiteering or something, presumably interested primarily in the history and culture. It was only recently I learned the actual premise, which was kind of disappointing, but there's no reason I can't stick to my old headcannon. If they rebooted Johnny and the gang, that might be the ideal way to do it actually. Being a thorn in the side of sketchy 20th century wealthy imperialists is a fantasy I can get behind
Oh man, I love that head-canon so much! I think I might need to adopt it haha. I heard that there’s a really nice Adventurers set concept on Lego Ideas right now. Apparently the backstory is that Johnny Thunder is returning artifacts to tombs and ruins. I have so much love for this theme, but the subject matter is kind of hard to overlook now.
Great video. As with any set that was basically meant as a toy (or modern adult sets even), I wouldn't worry too much about the subject matter. The fantasy world they are supposed to represent is free of morals and free of modern sensibilities. It is meant for play and for imagination, not to be soiled with all kinds of nonsense about real world problems. It is plastic toy set, not an ethical essay.
Absolutely amazing animations! Johnny thunder has to be one of my favorite Lego themes
Thanks so much!

My parents bought me this set back in 90s. Bottom part of the sarcophagus is wrong color. Nice animation btw

Wonderful to return to the trash kingdom! Johnny Thunder was also a childhood icon for me
Glad you stopped by again! He was the same for me, I think I was a bigger fan of his than Indiana jones honestly haha
If you have it can you rebuild the guarded inn castle set it’s my favorite.
If not could you build a set with the black falcons. I don’t think you have done a video with them yet.
