And honestly, the only reason those that are left playing this game are even getting 1 map, 2 guns and a helicopter is because they HAVE to add SOME content. It's already been promised. The game is dead. Good riddance. Maybe they'll pull their heads out of their asses for the next one. Either way I'm not buying it on launch.
I remember the days when you got 4 maps, 6 weapons, 4 gadgets and a hell of a lot of challenges to complete. Now we get two weapons, one map and a specialist that nobody wants. Oh, and don't forget that it's tied to a 100-tier battlepass for a game with little to no content and nothing to do. I hate what gaming has become. It's not a hobby anymore, it's work.
Totally forgot that they are using the seasons system. That's just there to stretch time to unlock the new stuff. Remember when we had achievements that had to be completed to unlock new stuff and forced you to try out new ways to play the game?
@@comona I'm too dissappointed in the things they won't change - lack of destruction (pathetic craters, basic building destruction etc) - lack of detail on maps overall - poor map design - inconsistent tone from the pre launch marketing - flat hollow atmosphere, not in the way intended - sub par sound design, and worst BF soundtrack to date - countless mechanical, operational and visual downgrades - lack of content - lack of GOOD content - feels more like a F2P battlefield clone more than the real thing - tried to reinvent battlefield instead of improving it - extremely dissapointing portal content (despite how fun 1942 remaster is) - lack of cohesion in overall vision for the game which shows in every aspect of the games design I can go on, I dont see them fixing this with a handful of unimpressive maps, small changes (the quips), recycled portal content and unimpactful skins
In real life some battlefields have no cover and a lot of open space like at Little Round Top there were no trees and the Confederates had to March through open ground.
They know the die hard Battlefield players are wanting the game to just die now. We're done with the trash they force down our throats. They're hoping ti cut their losses by squeezing every last dollar out of new players who don't know any better before the game dies a sad, well-deserved death.

Continue the direction, listen to the community and deliver high quality. If this quality would have been there on day 1, the game would have been fun.

Wow a guided missile that’s limited too only one specialist I remember a time when you select what ever rocket launcher you wanted on a class that was designed for anti-vehicles.
But you can't monetize a class system as much as specialists. Thats the problem with most multi-player AAA games. Greedy devolopers ruin franchises and turn them into battlepass cash cows until there is no more milk to be had. Then they kill the franchise and move on to the next one.
This is probably the least excited I have been after watching a Battlefield Trailer. The new Map looks great. New weapons look great but the problem is I know how the base game plays and feels. It's completely eradicated the kid inside me that got goosebumps with each new trailer. I really hope this moves 2042 in the right direction

Any good feeling I had died the moment "New Specialist" appeared on-screen. I hate that specialists are so baked into the core gameplay that they can't even be removed at this point, we have to wait until the next Battlefield game to see if they'll go back to the regular class system.
People seem to forget these updates are free, the days of insane DLC are gone unless its paid. And if I was given a choice, I would take one map per free dlc rather than divide the community between paying and not paying.

to be honest this map is actually fun to play and i can understand (from a devs point) than specalists cant be removed since they are in the codebase and would need a total reprogramming of the game (this is EAs fault NOT Dices since they have to follow what the big money givers tell them to do) but now to save the game like BF4 / BF5 they need to do a few things: More good maps wich are not that open anonymous skin options for the specialists so that they look like the other random grunts (as option) still rebalancing of some weapons/helis. And more Weapons/Gadgets and Vehincles. All in all More good content.
Zero hour, named as such because the word "Zero hour" is when an operation starts, and with this season the game may finally have a release content count, polish and thought behind it that would make it release ready.
I think the map looks pretty decent now that there are actual bumps in the terrain and other stuff that can be used as cover. The inside areas look cool too, hopefully that means we get actual cqc areas. The map also looks very pretty. Guess we'll see on Thursday Really sucks how little content there is but hopefully whats there is good. Fingers crossed they'll up the pacing of new content releasing from this point and onward

Battlefield was amazing. BF4 was the last time I enjoyed it. Get back to what Battlefield was, intense team battles on big maps, not old ladies running around empty maps.

We need to actually start raising our standards/exceptions to a new norm, to a new degree to any games/new games. We need to actually start pressuring these big game companies into making games that are on par or surpass our high expectations and if they can't, then we don't take it.

Just watched jurassic world dominion today and the map kinda reminds me of the biosyn sanctuary. Especially the structures sticking out of the mountain sides.
The battlepass is supposed to have “narrative features” so I guess we’ll see when it goes live. They said this before launch of the actual game itself tho so idk
Even with the blatant lies we were told about the game initially, DICE still makes some of the best trailers and cinematics out there. Hopefully this a turning point

I'm praying that this saves the game. I think Battlefield 2042 is ok, but it could use some improvements. One improvement I wanna see is more destruction. In Battlefield 4 you can knock down an entire skyscraper but in 2042 there is almost no destruction.

I think the map looks pretty decent now that there are actual bumps in the terrain and other stuff that can be used as cover. The inside areas look cool too, hopefully that means we get actual cqc areas. The map also looks very pretty. Guess we'll see on Thursday
Really sucks how little content there is but hopefully whats there is good. Fingers crossed they'll up the pacing of new content releasing from this point and onward

*C&C Generals Zero Hour* was a complete, finished and loved game. The same can't be said about Battlefield 2042.

When will people start realizing that us publicly saying that we are "keeping our expectations low" is not helping at all nor helping yourself? And that its even worse when you don't say anything at all but still keeping your expectations low?
And that big game companies now, when they see us say that, we are basically giving them the greenlight to do whatever they want.
We need to actually start raising our standards/exceptions to a new norm, to a new degree to any games/new games. We need to actually start pressuring these big game companies into making games that are on par or surpass our high expectations and if they can't, then we don't take it.

Needs to be big, massively upset that we’re only getting one new map though. This season is literally make or break to claw back the players
The only chance to bring all back is letting us play as classes with the AI skins ingame.

I'm praying that this saves the game. I think Battlefield 2042 is ok, but it could use some improvements. One improvement I wanna see is more destruction. In Battlefield 4 you can knock down an entire skyscraper but in 2042 there is almost no destruction.
