Doug was a jockey prior to trading horses and going drag racing. A quick way to tell a clone SW&C Car from the real deal is the headlight bezels on the real one are 40 fords. (I have the original Willys bezels that came on the car.) And Dennis if your ever in Norco California on a Saturday morning you need to come to Hotrods in Horsetown USA in Norco. Mike Cook is there along with a couple other old time local drag racers. If you do make sure you check out one of your original "Certified Car Nut" decals on my Blown 57. Its been in 100s of my videos.
I grew up in this era of drag racing and the Stone, Woods and Cooke machines were some of my favorites. I think they were the first racially integrated drag team. Fond memories Dennis’ videos bring to me. 👍
Dennis, there were 3 SW&C cars built 1 of them crashed. I have the trunk lid to that car that crashed. It was given to me by Mike Cook, Doug's son. When I'm at Mikes house (couple times a week) its like walking through gasser history. If anyone's interested I have done a few videos from Cooks garage that are on my channel. Mike is one of the nicest guys in the world and I would love to drive one of the cars someday. Fun fact on this Willys: The headlight bezels are 40 ford, I have the original Willys headlight bezels that came with that car.
i guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
