1. The place and time of war must be specified beforehand to be in accordance with dharma.
2. War is to begin at sunrise and end at sunset.
3. A single warrior cannot be attacked by multiple warriors.
4. An unarmed warrior cannot be harmed.
5. Anyone (human or animal) not involved in the war should be left unharmed.
6. Unless considered a direct threat, animals in battle cannot be killed.
7. Women, children, the sick, and farmers should not be affected in a battle and war prisoners were considered sacred.
8. A warrior should not be struck from the back.
++ Many more rules, and invaders in last 1,400 years didnt followed any civil acts and were mercelisly bloodthristy civilization destroyers be it from Europe (French, British, Portuguese, Dutch ) or The ISlamic invaders.
But by 15th century Indians understood these people are bloodthristy and hence youll see every tactic used and Tit for Tat moves. Hand or Hand, Head for head.
I am too a product of these wars , I am living the resultant result of these fights and every Indian exisitng today has suffered in some way or the other.
