Hey man, I plan in getting a kit for my 70 Nova. Would you happen to know how to wire this with a Holley Terminator?

Great info, great video i have kw w900 ac wires were cut on accident? Ac not working Ac compressor in front of engine 1 wire with ac dryer next to it wire trianary switch all 4 wires cut , have engine harness right their that runs trough engine tru firewall i believe goes to ac control.unit .. my issue is how can I figure out which wires are what ? And how to re wire this unit ? Any advice i would great appreciate it .

The white signal wire from the PCM (also PSI wiring harness) where does that get connected to? I believe that’s the signal wire to bump up the idle when the AC is activated.

By any chance do you have different relays?? On my fan relays, the ground terminal is 85. That’s where I got my pcm ground signals...

Its possible, there's different ways to wire the relays, along as on side has power ' acc power, ground etc

    Great Info.
Just what I was looking for.
I’m running LS engine with electric fans, binary switch on vintage air set up. AC clutch will only kick on when the computer turns the fans on. Trinary switch should take care of that problem?
Should I run a separate fan for this AC set up or just wire in to the existing fan set up?

Goosse Performance It does turn on when I turn the AC on but shuts off after a few seconds. When engine gets up to temp. and fans turn on then comes back on and clutch stays on until fans go back off.

I have a ls3 swap 86 C10 with factory air. I'm installing Dakota digital HDX,BIM and the fan controller with the 1 wire sanden compressor. Is this switch still required? Thanks!

I've done it this way, but it's not the correct way. And ls1 has a pin in the computer that tell the ecm the a/c is on. The psi harness will NOT have this pin installed. So you'll have to get a pinout for your year/type ecm. The ls3 uses a 3 wire transducer. It works on canbus. Recently someone told me that you can use the ground side of the transducer to activate the fans connected to the vintage trinary switch. I'm looking into it.
Bp automotive harness has the a/c hook up installed already. I've done both PSI and BP Automotive and will never psi again. Customer service and quality just isn't there.

With the LS harness and using the trinary switch, did you have to wire in a diode to keep from back feeding a signal to the ecu? I have an LS3 with E38 ecu that has two fan outputs, one for 190* on and the other for 205* on. I keep losing signal and fans don’t turn on like they should.

You cannot wire the second fan as shown and it operate correctly. For example, the way you show it, Fan 2 will always come on if the ECU is commanding Fan 1 as they share the ground wire on your diagram.

@@goosseperformance1444 In your diagram, your Fan 2 wire from the ECU isn’t doing anything. Either your Fan 1 turns them both on, or the trinary turns them both on. I think it could mislead people who want to use that diagram as a go-to for their street cars if they want the ECU to do something with the Fan 2 signal from their ECU. Some people also put diodes in the line(s) as some ECUs don’t like seeing that ground signal from the trinary switch when the ECU doesn’t command it to go to ground.

Add a diode to the wire between the relays and you will have low and high speed fan control for you coolant temperature, but having your fans come on high every time it senses high pressure I guess would work but it would be better if you didn't use a trainer switch and you just put a high pressure sensor on it and wired it to the PCM and then allow it to do what it was made too which is turn on your low speed fan when the head pressure comes up and high-speed fan when the pressure comes up even higher, also it will turn the fans off when you go over a pre set speed because you don't need fans when your moving down the road above around 30mph I think it is, using the trinary switch and leaving your fans on high while you're going down the highway will actually cause a restriction of air flow with the fan blade spinning

@@mrmchaffey@ a diode for each ground??

    • @mrmchaffey
      @mrmchaffey Рік тому

You would just need to put the diode between the ground of the two relays. Just one, but you should really look up a three relay setup and wire it that way, because if you have two fans with three relays, it'll split the voltage between the two fans and cause them to run at half speed aka low speed. When the fans command low from the computer, and then when the fans command high it'll switch from series to parallel and run both fans on high, the best setup would be to not use a trinary switch and go with a low pressure switch for your compressor and a transducer wired to the computer to monitor high side pressure , and let the computer turn the fans on low and high based off of AC head pressure. Not to mention the added bonus of the computer. Turning your fans off while you're going down the highway
