    I'm a silent viewer and after reading some comments, I figured I'd chime in. Quite honestly, I think people are forgetting to just enjoy your content and if it doesn't interest them then they shouldn't click the video to comment how much they dislike this series. The title is clearly written so it's no surprise. I love the creativity you bring no matter what you're planning on. I'm old school and will stick to paper and pen but I'm not going to click on the video just to comment negative things. I clicked on the video to watch the creativity. After all, we're simply here to support one another. Why go to lengths to tear down how this won't work for some cause they only have Androids, Kindles, etc? I don't use the exact same bullet journal and yet, I bullet journal. It's just another medium to bullet journal. I just don't get it. Why? Cause there's no right or wrong way. Sure, everyone is entitled to their own opinions but there's no need to click on a video time and time again to give negative comments. It's not constructive criticism either because constructive criticism is useful. Saying things like, "this just won't work for me" is simply an opinion but why watch anyways? But whatever. I enjoyed the video.

    Every time I read the some of the comments in this new series I find it is funny how people get frustrated by you going digital just for a month even though 90% of what you are doing that can be replicated using pen and paper just fine. People really do hate changes. It reminds me of how people got so upset when their favorite artists starting doing digital art. Nevertheless, I personally enjoying you expanding your horizon and trying new things. How your handwriting is exactly what looks like when you write on paper.

    I’m am stunned. As long as she’s doing it’s”your”way, she’s awesome. But when she reaches out to another audience, she’s alienating you? . Alienated? Seriously? Does that mean I should have felt alienated while I was watching her videos with a beautiful notebook, fancy fountain pens, and Tombow markers while I sat there with a $1 composition notebook, ballpoint pen and my kids crayola markers, crappy handwriting and no talent for doodling? From day one, Kara’s channel has been about how bullet journaling can be so useful because it’s COMPLETELY CUSTOMIZABLE”. She’s used notebooks, travelers notebooks and now digital notebooks. She has changed the setup of month views, trackers, weekly spreads, daily spreads, etc. Did she need to worry about alienating people when she stopped using a calendex? Watch or don’t watch. As stated before, the title of the video is perfectly clear. Expand your brain and adapt what’s she’s teaching to your method. I turned away from digital planning, because my appointments were constantly getting dumped, or moved to the wrong day. I worried about electronics crashing or my battery dying. But I’ve watched everyone of these videos and I’m inspired to do things differently....on paper. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into these videos Kara. Most of us appreciate your time, creativity and enthusiasm.

    Those "mixed reviews" are from people who don't get the digital planner concept or who just prefer pen and paper. It's not really fair to consider that a bad review of your digital planner. I've looked at many of the digital planners out there and yours is hands down the most well-designed and attractive. If someone is going to criticize your planner, they should stick to comparing it to other digital planners, not giving you a hard time for trying a different approach from pen and paper.

      My thoughts exactly! When she said "mixed reviews" I thought "well, probably because they don't like the digital format, not HER planner per se".

      I am really grateful to have Kara provide me with a way to feel creative in a medium I am familiar with and love as much as people love pen and paper. I am seriously not a pen and paper creative and to have this option from someone who is such a great teacher is really, really appreciated. I wish people would understand that doing something different does not mean they were abandoned, it just means that more people get to experience the love of creativity like they do. Cheer for us digital folks like we cheer for the beauty you all can create with paper and pen!

    I cracked up at your comment "May the Fourth be with you". Not so cheesy, a friend's son proposed nearly a year ago and they are getting married this evening, they are HUGE Star Wars fans so wanted to be married on the fourth of May just so they could make that comment to their guests. Love watching the digital planner videos, plan to translate some of the ideas to my bujo - probably will not be doing a digital journal, but who knows - maybe some day.

    I’m a new subscriber who ended up here because of the digital planners. It is really disappointing to see constant comments of people complaining because it’s not pen and paper or it’s not affordable for them. Not everything is suitable for everyone, just because Kara is digital planning this month, does not mean you should bankrupt yourself trying to keep up with her. As much as I love paper planning it’s just not for me, so I love this solution where I can keep the prettiness but don’t need to keep a world of supplies, I can also decorate my planner while travelling which is not something that I could realistically do with a paper planner. So remember while it might not work for you, it will for someone else and part of a business is to expand so that you have products that appeal to as many people as possible. Again doesn’t mean that Kara can’t stick at something or is just going with the latest trend, she is successfully allowing her business to reach people that it wouldn’t have before.
    I appreciate many of you have been following for a long time so you would like to see the style that works best for you, and I also know there are a lot of you that want to support Kara with her business but really do please think about the type of impression you are leaving on newcomers when you leave your comments about whichever style of planning that Kara is doing. There is usually a community feel surrounding planners but some of the comments left on this and other digital planner videos make people feel unwelcome and the way some things are worded sound kind of selfish. I’m not saying everything should be rainbows and flowers, it’s just with this series tying directly in with new products it’s almost like leaving low reviews on the products complaining that you can’t use them on your planner so you’re not a fan of them.
    From the videos that I’ve watched, Kara seems lovely and no doubt after this series she will be back and engaging with her paper planners again as well so it’s not the end for anyone that this doesn’t work for, just try to remember it is the beginnning for some other people so it would be great if you could let them enjoy these videos xx

    For the last few weeks I’ve been really struggling with my planning. I had basically abandoned my paper planners for my iCal out of convenience. Hey there! I am loving your digital journal! I bought a blank one, and on the right hand side with the links on those tabs, is there any way to write on those tabs, without either re-writing on every page or creating a sticker for what i would want on them? I'm not that familiar with goodnotes but i'm liking my experience so far. Just not sure if i'm missing a feature that would make it easier!

    Have you tried the app Amaziograph?! It helps you make amazing mandalas and you can export them just like you do your stickers with a transparent background and edit on procreate or put right into your planner. It’s seriously a game changer and super addiction. I think it’s like 99 cents and totally worth it!

      The planner is just a PDF file. All you need is a PDF Annotation app. I'm using Xodo, and the links work just fine. If you use MetaMoji, you have more freedom with images, but the links won't work.
      For stickers, you can use an app called Eraser to remove the blank layer and crop any digital sticker sheet you have using Adobe Mix.
      If your sticker sheets are in PDF, use the website pdf2png to transform them in image files so you can use the Eraser app.

    Can I make a suggestion? Considering all the mixed reviews and building tension, maybe you should address how you're currently using--or not using--your paper planners/journals alongside your digital planner to allay people's fears?

  • @mkcohen89
    @mkcohen89 6 років тому +7

    This is an unfortunate turn for bullet journaling. I'm not usually one to comment on this sort of thing, but I'm choosing to speak up about it because it's a bit absurd to me that you would be excluding SO many people going forward.
    I know that many of us enjoy using expensive pens in our bullet journals, whether they be fountain pens or tombow dual brush pens, or what-have-you. People get fancy covers for their bujo's to hold their fancy paper. But the beautiful thing about a bujo has ALWAYS been that all you really need to get started is a piece of paper and a writing utensil.
    This new project you've got going is so alienating for people who don't have Tablets, Apple Pens (or something similar), find technology difficult, etc. I'm a bit shocked that you would go this route without addressing this, since your brand is so peaceful and inclusivity-driven.

    • @agentmom4279

      I think you are looking at this the wrong way. Trying new mediums is what her channel is all about. She has Travelers Notebooks, Filofax paper, Stickers for both... Any one could replicate what she has done or what she is doing in a traditional notebook and there is nothing alienating or inclusive about it

    • @Char007
      @Char007 6 років тому +11

      I mean I get where you're coming from, but as far as I know, she's not planning on quitting analog (bullet) journaling/planning completely (or making videos about it). I think this month she just wants to show what else is out there :) personally I really like this series, since I've been doing digital planning for 2 months now and I feel like there aren't a lot of tutorials/videos about it online and it's still a very unknown thing. When she was doing her fountain pen series I just skipped on it because I don't use fountain pens, nor am I really interested in getting one so I just skipped that and waited for her to come with something that was more my cup of tea :)

    • @theblackflamingo777
      @theblackflamingo777 6 років тому +1

      I see where you are coming from, and I agree to some extent. Watching these videos have given me serious tablet envy. I have a tablet, but it's a Kindle (which is an Android that can only use the Amazon appstore, which doesn't have nearly the amount or quality of things the Google Play Store does) and I don't have a very nice stylus, so using this planner, or even planner style digitally just isn't feasible....but at the same time, everything she's doing is the same stuff she used to do with pen and paper. In fact, several things are EASIER with pen and paper than fighting the program. I don't feel like I've been alienated over here with my paper journal. And at some point, digital planning is just as big of an audience--if not more so--as paper planning. And depending on how you go about it, it can be a lot cheaper. I've been having a lot of fun dressing up my family's automatic joint digital planner with free printable sticker packs I've chopped into images using Kara's new planner as inspiration. I understand why you are frustrated, so what can we do to make it better?

    • @Char007
      @Char007 6 років тому +3

      jaggy732 just out of curiosity, would you really stop watching a channel because for one month she’s focusing more on digital planning? I mean, she might still put out other videos this month that are about analog journaling but I just don’t get why people would unsubscribe so fast if she’s doing something different. The fountain pens weren’t my thing, nor were the hobonichis (for the same reason you aren’t a huge fan of this, way too expensive to get since I live in Europe and sending costs are a nightmare). I’m not trying to start a fight but I just really like about other people’s opinion! Hope I didn’t offend you by asking this!

    • @aciariana3257
      @aciariana3257 6 років тому +1

      Yes, you have the right to give feedback. I guess what people are questioning in this kind of comments is how sad you are that she is trying to present to us new stuff.
      Welp, people are different, there will always be people that we can't include 100%. I, too, felt left out all the time she was doing paper planning because I couldn't afford all the beautiful pens and planners, as they are very VERY expensive in my country. But I understood that a lot of other people were happy and inspired by Kara's videos, and tried to extract things I could use with what I had.
      I think the vibe Boho Berry gives us is more important than trying to do EXACTLY what Kara is doing. It's so peacefull and cute, it doesn't matter what she is doing, she shows how inspired she is, and that is what attracts me to her videos.
      You don't have to get into this groove, nobody can force you to do this. If you like pen and paper, keep doing what makes you happy :) Actually, a LOT of the things she do on the tablet can be done with the same fancy materials and stickers and inserts from paper planning, and if you dont use the fancy equipments, it doesn't really matter if she is planning on the paper or tablet, you wouldn't be able to do the things she does, anyway.
      Little tip: I use this planner in my android tablet. All the apps I use to decorate and plan in my digital planner are FREE :D
      Just Xodo and Adobe Mix (free apps) plus a little help from pdf2png website (to get all of my sticker freebies from pdf to image files), and I have loads of free stickers, all cropped up and ready to be used.
      Actually, this is cheaper for me, because I already used my Tab A 2015 as a notebook for the past 2 years. All I bought was the planner from Boho Berry Paperie and I was ready to go.
