That tree growing out of the rockage looks like a four season subject to me, fantastic shots with great light, just shows that you dont need fog or mist to shoot woodland scenes.
Another nice spot mate, similar to one I've visited a few times, which is where I Initially, I thought that's where you were. It gimble looks like a good piece of kit and for the price, It'll be worth getting as you say just for use as a power bank.
Love your woodland photos, I visit these woods regularly have never seem any other photographers, if you get the chance to visit again check out the other side of the lane photo heaven.
