I agree with you!! No unibody Ram please. The body on frame midsize market is huge and Ram could certainly jump in and make an impact with a cool Ram Dakota! It’d be neat to see them compete with the Tacoma TRD off-road and offer a Dakota Warlock! Or even offer a top of line Dakota Rebel!! And compete with GM too Dakota Warlock vs Colorado Trail boss Or Dakota Rebel vs Colorado ZR2
@Jason-Samko I know I was hoping that was the surprise it has US flag embossed in the taillights which gave a lot of people hope & it'd sell like hotcakes here people would eat em up here in the states
No unibody. It needs to be body on frame. More useable, durable to compete with the Tacoma, Ranger etc. Build it on the Gladiator platform. They can do a unibody in a smaller compact truck to compete with the Maverick & Sanra Cruz.
Update. This has changed, as It’s not going to be based on the STLA Large, and built in Belvedere. This has changed with Tim Kuniskis returning to Ram as CEO. It’s going to be based on the Gladiator chassis. As they are retooling the Toledo Ohio Jeep plant, and the Gladiator has temporarily been moved to the Wrangler Side of the Toledo Jeep factory. They’re retooling the Gladiator line to build the Ram Dakota based on the Gladiator chassis. When the Ram Rampage eventually comes to the states, that will be built in Belvedere.

It is has an EV option, confirmed unibody of course. I would strongly advise them to NOT name it Dakota unless they want to irritate a lot of people. Until then I'm going to think of it as the Ramrick.
Not having a frame will be a miss. It's sounding like a Ridgeline competitor and being unibody is gonna limit some of its capabilities. They could have it share the DT platform that underpins the full size ram. Like how Nissans F-Alpha platform underpinned both the Titan and Frontier, being shortened for the Frontier
Oh thank goodness! With only currently having approximately 1 million choices of truck already in the US market, it’s a good job there’s another one on its way to REALLY mix things up 😒
Probably will be unibody. I hate to say it but I think BOF is going the way of the Dodo along with the manual transmission, the NA v6, the v8, the v10, the small displacement turbo diesel and so much more. We're seeing not just more unibody pickup-truck-like vehicles, but also SUVs that used to be BOF are no longer. People 8itched about it at first but if the auto cartel oligopoly all does it, then you can either buy one or you can ride the bus. And they know which one you're going to choose. Maverick, Santa Cruz, Ridgline, Cybertruck, GM truck EV platform vehicles . It's not going to happen quickly but it's the beginning of the end.
If it is not body on frame it will not be as big as they want it to be. The Ridgeline and Maverick are both a vehicle that needs a special market to of buyers to pick them up. If it is body on frame you will have a lot of workers picking them up as work trucks.

@@KevinEdge81 i like the way you are thinking!!!
Would love to see Dakota on a Gladiator platform to take on Ranger Raptor and Colorado ZR2!
me too
I wish they would bring back a modern version of the small W50 four wheel drive truck I had decades ago. Great little truck.
i'll believe it when I see it
I have a 2000 Dakota 3.9 v6 still going strong 206.000 miles California west Coast no rust
Twinz!
I don’t even drive our new cars. It’s the ultimate sleeper in the Bay. Bippers don’t bat an eye 👁️ for an old Dakota 😂
Love it
They had a version in Brazil I think badged as rampage it looked really cool
Yep great little truck. I don't think that's what they want to bring here though
@Jason-Samko I know I was hoping that was the surprise it has US flag embossed in the taillights which gave a lot of people hope & it'd sell like hotcakes here people would eat em up here in the states
An R/T two door Dakota would be sweet.
Man do I miss my 01 extended cab flame red Dakota R/T
The rt was so sweet
V6??
@@antoniocognato5023 would be great
I bet it’s for the SantaCruz/Maverick market.
Put MEGA CAB on 1500 and 3 row seating

If it's unibody I'll get a pro 4x real trucks are body on frame if the surprise is it's not a unibody it'll be really cool
Yep love bof trucks best myself
If it is body on frame, I would take a look see.
Wait you guys keep saying ram and Jeep are going out of business why the hell would they bring back another truck if they're going out of business
Media hype like anything else
I have never said ram or jeep was going out of business. I actually make videos showing the exact opposite
Needs to be Dodge Dakota.name badge.
It’ll ride on the Gladiator platform.
I would like to see something like the old ford rangers in the 2000s

@grantandersen will look into this. I'm very excited if this is the plan! Thank you for the info.
@@Jason-Samko This was originally the plan, for the Dakota before Kuniskis left.
@grantandersen perfect
Isn’t there or is there a ram 1300
@andrewshenton6541 there is a ram 1200 and a ram rampage. We don't get wither here
@ thanks Jason new i heard of something
Jeep is serious about using drone tech in upcoming vehicles - theyre hard at work testing them up and down the east coast every night.
😂😂
I have had my zr2 science Jan. 2024 I am thinking of new truck. Ram- ford - chevy what do you think thanks
Lots of amazing options out there. Test drive them all and find what you like best. Then work the dealers for best deals
I like some in put on dealing. I think I got a fairly good deal on My zr2. Only have 3,000 miles I know I'm old and just drive around Hixson Tn.

I thought Jason was checking out the rumors of large deer 🦌 and elk up that 🤔 way😅😅
@patbromwell8701 😂😂. I owned a drone for 8 mins once. Bought it sent it up got it out a ways, hit a tree and never found it..lol
Not feeling the unibody. I'm sticking to the Frontier until further notice

If it's not a full frame truck then call it the Rampage. There's history there.
@@Scroll_Lock ramrick... 😂 I don't care if it comes on a military grade humvee frame, I'm always gonna think of it as a ramrick now😂😂
I wish they bring to australia v8 or diesel
If they bring the diesel 2.0L Rampage to the US Market I wouldn’t mind snagging one just for the gas savings lol
A Maverick competitor. snooze.
We need maverick competition.
Just bring back the Strait Six Engines and NO Turbo.!! Best damn engine ever made the strait six.!!

It will be built on gadiator chassis may have v8 in it. Made in Toledo Oh.

@@TheKingOfInappropriateComments i feel you are correct.. sadly
If it's a unibody construction, wouldn't it be competing with the Maverick rather than the Tacoma.
They need a maverick competitor but they seem to be waiting for the market to be saturated and desire to be diminishing to show up😅

Agree
They need to bring back rhe dodge raider. A montero sport
I have pictures of the prototype. It has been driving around Belvidere, Illinois. I can send them via an email address.
@mpas8684 would love to see it. My email is on my website tbwpodcast.com. thank you. Greatly appreciated
To bad drones are banned at state parks. Also, could you imagine how many drones will get stuck in trees.
If it will be unibody i would never be interested. If they are putting out a mid size, make it a real truck. The stupid mistakes they keep making.
Agree. There are already 3 amazing unibody trucks out there for people thst want them. Make this one a body on frame
If its a body on frame great if not ,their loss.
The front of the Dakota looks like the new Tacoma
Unibody not for me.
Maybe Ram needs to worry more on sales of its Ram full size trucks. A possible mid size truck may finish off the Gladiator.
Mavericks and the other Unibody vehicles are NOT trucks !! If they make this BS , it will just be ANOTHER mistake by Stellantis !! ... Fools !!
