Maya shouldn’t even be thinking about getting with Jacob if she wasn’t with his dad. She’s an adult and his teacher. But, then if it does turn into a grooming storyline I guess it’d be pretty interesting to watch as you barley see lady’s grooming teenage guys
Shes over familar and actually undercover messing with his head. She keeps saying" you understand me" then she tells him they need boudaries and colludes with him by promising to keep it a secret. Well its not Jacobs job to understand you hes a child !! This is soooo wrong, but an interesting storyline
I have found something uneasy and creepy about this woman ever since she come into it. To me when Jacob kisses Maya she slighly responds and before that even if she isn't grooming him she is being completely naive and silly with him as a teacher she should know better. After watching this clip I am now complely sure she is interested in him. When Jacob says what if you weren't with my Dad she should say no never its completely wrong and not right but she doesn't. Oh my god I can see this going into a full blown grooming storyline and though it will be terribly uncomfortable to watch it is something that happens and not just men with girls women with boys. I love how Emmerdale is never afraid to tackle these issues. But really David again after all the business with creepy psycho boy Lachlan and Alica when he sexually assulted her that was awful now his new girlfriend likes his teenage son. Can that same kinda thing really happen to the same man twice at both ends of the scale, still this is a soap and a dam good one at that. It's not right Jacob lad tell your Dad she is going to groom you.
If this is a grooming storyline, it will be interesting because it's a woman who is doing it. We have only seen it from a male doing it like in Coronation Street. So It should be interesting to see.
I hope they do a good job. I work in health care and have seen many young men who have been preyed on by women told that they must have wanted it. Even if a boy wants a relationship with a grown woman, it is irrelevant, lots of boys want to skip school and play video games all day, an adult should not be encouraging it. I have seen women manipulate, threaten and take advantage of vulnerable boys. Women committing sex crimes is a dangerously under reported and discussed problem. Adults who prey on kids this way know exactly what they are doing, they can't handle a real adult relationship, so they go after someone who they can control. It takes an incredibly weak person to be unable to deal with having an equal relationship. It is like that creepy guy who hangs around malls perving on young girls because he can impress them easily, a real adult relationship would revel them for the loser they are. Sorry for the long rant, but it is something I'm passionate about and have seen to much of.
Yeah but the woman teacher (Neeta) and male student (Hunter) had a genuine bond and connection and he gave her the attention that she had never got in her life as she was mistreated by her past partners so it was clear why she liked him and he loved her to pieces and she did too so I wouldn't say that the Hollyoaks one was a grooming storyline. I'm hoping the Maya and Jacob one isn't a grooming storyline either because I believe her character is great and has a nice personality so I wouldn't like to see her change that anytime soon, so I'd like it to play on how Hollyoaks did it with Hunter and Neeta.
The US Soap Opera Guiding Light did a similar Storyline. Matt Bomer who played The Adult Ben Reade came back from Boarding School and was a mess doing bad things even kidnapping. It was later discovered that his Teacher Sexually Abused him. In the US alot of Female Teachers go to Jail for Sexing with their Students. Many of them say that they did it because the Students who are Football Players who they kick it with are helping them recreate the past. In High School, they admitted guys like that who were very popular wouldn't give girls like that the time of day.

Soap writers are only capable of blaming men for all life's ills...remember the Tyrone abuse storyline on coranation St...soaps have an huge anti male bias... Remove the chip and it becomes evident.

Kate Johnson Jacob is probably excited to get groomed but emmerdale is by far the best soap and this is gonna be an amazing storyline
