@zeekachu000 they only get 15 minutes or so to clean a whole room. They strip the sheets but often leave the duvet unless visibly stained. They vacuum if necessary and wipe down what's needed.
Also worked as a maid.
We didn’t have time to clean as thoroughly as we (at least I) wanted. I started out taking 30 minutes and was told that was way too long. By the end of the summer, I was down to 15 minutes.
I went back to college with a newfound sense of ick toward hotels. I never walk barefoot, unless I’m going straight to the shower, and I wipe down handles, faucets, remotes, etc with bleach wipes I bring from home.
The duvet stays lol, they don’t wash those every time someone stays! Think about it! They would have to replace them quite often. Unless you’re staying in a 5 star hotel and even then!
The bathrooms get a quick spray and wipe and you’d be lucky if the floor actually got vacuumed thoroughly or vacuumed that day lol.

When we travel, it’s similar. The cast irons come with, we fill 5 gallons of water and bring our Grayl’s for any extra we need, the whole coffee set up .. manual grinder .. beans .. electric kettle .. the works 😅 I bring pillows but haven’t graduated to linens yet. It can be a lot to pack but I’m always so grateful to have my comforts away from home

My better half is nearly as exhausting. We recently added 2 puppies to our family and she is obsessed with disinfecting everytjing every 20 minutes, then says "I guess I have to do everything".

You should tell her that its probably hurting the puppies more than helping by doing that. Their immune systems need practice, or they could get seriously sick with somrthing that normally wouldnt be that serious.

The microwave one hits harder than it feels like it's intended to. My friend grew up in a cult that's "crunchy", and of course, massively abusive. They were so panicked when their sister came to stay that she would report back to the parents that they dared to own a microwave I ended up hiding it at mine for the duration of their stay.
There's a lot of issues with the modern world, but microwaves aren't one of them!

Literally and actually me. And don't forget wiping down every single inch of the bathroom with vinegar. In any surface that my kids could possibly touch. It was honestly much easier to start going camping for our stays. And it definitely felt much cleaner. I was having to bring everything for a hotel anyway. I got cooking utensils, the electric burner sheets, cleaning supplies.... The only thing I haven't seen are the EMF protectors

I do like when state parks have bunk house cabins that have just a plastic wrapped mattress (to avoid bed bugs, and residual fluid contaminations). A non smoking, no pets allowed shelter with ac, a water faucet, and a mini fridge is the ultimate vacation stay. ⭐ ✨ ❤

Honestly ive learned that hotel floors are very nasty, so slippers/shoes (not on beds obviously) are a nessecity. And my mom brings her own sheets and pillowcases 😂😂😂

New to the world of crunch. Always been a crunchy mom and didn’t know it - non vax, no food dyes, minimal screen time- but the more I learn the more I’m in. Never heard of the Berkey filter- this is amazing! We live in Florida and it’s always stressful trying to stock up on water. Thanks for all the info delivered in a hilarious way ❤

I feel this. We will be going on vacation in a few months and I'm already planning meals and making packing lists down to the minutest detail. My Berkey, cast iron skillet, and stainless steel pots and pans always travel with us, though I do try to plan meals to need as few of those as possible. I also have a lot of digestive issues I'm trying to heal, so my diet is fairly limited, restaurants are not an option, not so much because I'm crunchy but because I don't want to get stomach cramps that ruin my vacation. I kid you not, I pack more food and kitchen supplies than anything else when we go on vacation, especially if we go somewhere that organic food is not readily available. And there must be a full kitchen where ever we stay, that's non-negotiable.
