abntiffie2005 Correct. The Spectra backflow protectors have a short stubby end designed for the Spectra connector. The yellow adapter piece (or long stem backflow) gives enough clearance to fit into the Medela parts
I have noticed that when I use the freemies with the S9 pump (the small one) I do turn it up a bit higher. When using them with the S1 or S2 I didn’t have to use as much suction. As with anything else, play around a bit and see what works best for you!
Jackie Foster Yes! Freemies tubing is very similar to the Medela tubing. Another little hack- buy aquarium tubing in the pet section of your local store (like Walmart) as it’s so much cheaper!!
You don't need to purchase that kit if you are okay using a hack like shown in my video here. If you want the kit, you can go ahead and get that but I don't want to spend money that I don't have to spend!
Crystal Burnham The duckbill? Spectra makes them but theirs are thicker and larger. I like the “off brand” ones from nenesupply. They come in a pack of 5 so I usually buy two at a time to have five full sets.
Why couldn't you just plug the medela end that doesn't have the yellow connector straight into the back flow?! Is it not the right size?

Hi! Do you experience less suction when hacking the spectra do the freemie cups?

EXCELLENT info!
Thanks so much for sharing

Happy to do so! I hope it helps you!
If I don’t have Freemie tubing can I just buy Medela tubing? Thanks for the video!

I have the spectra S1, and want to buy the freemie cups, do I need to buy the tubing kit from freemie to spectra??

Oh wait that valve on the part that you're calling Medela looks like a Spectra --the white angled valve

Do you have a review on the s9?
Seneca Houston I don’t have one currently but it is definitely on my massive to-do list!
