I don't know if you know "Tech Yes City" but he has a cooler from AliExpress he is very happy with. Its a tower cooler a lot like the hyper 212 and many others. Its called the Snowman, you can get for around 16$ Would be really interesting if you tested that one out, you could compare to the results from this video. It wouldn't win as the one who could cool the most I am sure, but costing that much less, it might very well be the best BUDGET cooler if the money is tight. I am mostly curious to see how it compares to the 212. That is a cooler I know, that performs really well for the price, and is good enough to handle modest overclocks too.
There is an added bonus to the Arctic Freezer 34 Duo. The second Fan doesn't add much more cooling performance. So you can just mount one fan to the heatsink and use the other one as a similar looking case fan. A single faned version of this cooler is even sold by Arctic too. Also the fans are sold separately, so you can upgrade the Freezer 34 eSports to the eSports DUO later, if you want to do so. In my PC I use the Arctic Freezer 33 eSports Duo, an slightly older version of the Freezer 34.
I appreciate the huge work you had to do, installing and removing each and every one of those coolers. Excellent video, very informative! Liked and subscribed!
Thank you for a very good review. It can be frustrating at times to watch these sorts of videos as the products we buy aren't always the same. My Hyper 212 came with 2 fans and didn't have a warranty void if removed message anywhere. It was painful to fit onto my AM4 and and the pressure you need to get the screws to take is a worry. It's working very well and is extremely quiet.
Really hope this channel succeeds. This is the level of detail I need for products. What kind of products will you review in the future? Cooler reviews on gpu's? Cant wait for them. Subbed with bell on.
I will cover CPU coolers for a while and then do cases, fans, and possibly monitors. GPUs might be possible, but they are really expensive so we'll see.
It would really be great, if you could make a low-profile CPU cooler comparison. These have seen an ever increasing interest in the last few years, because of all the SFF cases that are getting released. Especially interesting coolers here are the Thermalright AXP-100, the Noctua NH-C14S, the Noctua NH-L9, the Cryorig C7, the Cooltek LP53, the Alpenföhn Black Ridge and the Asetek 645LT. They all differ a bit in size and compatibility and some of them only perform optimally with slight modifications like turning the fan around or switching the fan for a Noctua model. Any SFF pc builder will love you for such a video, because thermals is a very hot topic in the world of small computers. Cases like the Ncase M1, the DAN Case A4, the Sliger SM550/560, the Nouvolo Steck, the Velka 5 or the Geeek A50.
Thank you for the very detailed video and honestly was better then most bc everyone else definitely do not go into so many comparisons and will be looking forward to future videos, especially since I am very new to the pc building world.
I actually have a white esports duo and i was sort of doubting its performance, but after watching this i was relieved that this beautiful cooler lives up to its numbers. It looks sick in my white and black themed pc
Great roundup, i really enjoy your videos and presentation. I do have a comment, specially about the TS140Power, i feel something went wrong, at least on the 185W test, this is marketed as 360W TDP cooler thermalright spec sheet, even higher than Silver Arrow or the Le Grand Macho, it has some huge thick pipes, a very tight fin spread and big tall heatsink, all this characteristics are aimed into cooling a higher tdp cpu, given that the fan that it comes with its not ideal having a 1300rpm max speed, i feel it shouldn't have perform as bad as your 185W test shows. I have a small request, thats if you find it worth while, i would like to see the TS140Power vs NH-U14S, tested with the same fans and if you could single and dual fan, i would love to see them tested with Thermalright TY143 which have 600-2500rpm range, i can ship you the 2x TY143 if you give me an address or pobox to ship you the fans so you dont have to invest more money into a user request. I would love to see this headsup and both cooler are similar in size and many even say that TS140Power is better, but your test don't show the other way around, so to compare a apples to apples comparison with the same fan will definetly show if Noctua really its a better cooler.
I wouldn't put much trust in TDP ratings that come from the manufacturer. They are basically just marketing. You might be right about the limiting factor with the True Spirit 140 Power being its fan. If I get some time I will try that test and see. I might also setup some way through Patreon where people can request tests and I will do them.
This guy must be on cr4ck dude. Otherwise you can´t make sense an arctic 34 beats a mugen 5 or ts140p at 185 tdp. Ts140p is still the top dog when paired with a ty143, beating everything, even if u place the ty143 on the others. The only way this could make sense, it´s if this was tested on ryzen 3000, but there´s no ryzen 3000 with 185 power consumption, and even if you can get it there, thermal density is too high to be handled by heatpipe cooling. That´s because the 3000 have high thermal density, 3600 to 3700x the die placed on the side, and also flat IHS, where mugen 5 and ts140p has convex base plate.
@@TTks124 yeah the 140p with a ty 143 fan is very impressive, been looking for a cpu cooler to replace my 120mm silverstone which barely is enough for my 8 core overclocked xeon. Really wanted to get the 140p but my corsair 300r probably wouldn't fit it. Instead I ordered the new frost commander 140 and I'll put my ty 143 in the middle. Unfortunately my tall ram restricts me from adding 2nd or 3rd fan. Would like to see how the commander 140 performs but there are barely any reviews, but I agree those 140p numbers are off
Great review as always m8 I was waiting for this. Very impressed with the artic freezers performance especially it's fans two of them at 2000rpm vs mugens 1 fan at 1200rpm and they are quieter.. How they manage this I don't know I have the mugen and it's virtually silent I can attest to that.. Sadly for me the freezer wasn't an option due to compatibility but here in Greece you can get it for 5€ less than the mugen! I would love to see a head to head between these two both using two fans though maybe the tables will turn then? Maybe you could setup a quick test with the mugen using the freezers fans and releasing a head to head ? The mugen has a version with two 800rpm fans sold for a few € more maybe it's the cooler to get? Anyways great job m8 keep them coming!!
Those new fans (I think they're called Bionix) from Arctic are something else. Ther're not on the level of noctuas or shadow blades, but they cost a fraction of those and perform very well both on static pressure and air moved
I just rebuilt a computer and I used the Ryzen 5 2600 but the Wraith cooler was useless, just doing a virus scan drove the heat up to very high levels and the computer would then shut down. So I watched this video and went for the Arctic Freezer eSports Duo and I am amazed at the difference that it has made. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, now all I need is a better graphics card that does not cost too much money, at the moment I have a used Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 ti, it works quite well but it is a bit noisy, I may try to refurbish it if I can get the information and maybe a new fan that will fit.

@@HardwareScientist Yeah I think so. Have you used i7 9700k OC for that 185W test (Prime 95/OCCT small)? Maybe there is the answer - the size of IHS. The LGA 20xx is much bigger, as well as Ryzens and FXs ihs. Maybe with LGA 1151 not all heat pipes of some coolers were working efficiently, and there was too much heat to the small surface. That's just supposition , but yes - real world tests and a great one :).
I brought a cheap CPU cooler off AlliExpress to replace my standard intel one. I could not even get it to attach to the motherboard .... and believe me I tried.. I ended up just putting a new default one back on.. Lesson learned ... Sometimes saving money on buying cheap items is more expensive.

Great video. I love so much about what you have done here. Having recently gotten into the PC building space, I really hope to see you up there with a lot of the larger names. I had to go check out the other air cooler videos, even though I'm considering budget. I really would love to see an addition of the stock AMD coolers. Great video! I tried to install a Hyper 212 on my son's PC with an AMD 3600 and AM4 socket. I work in IT and have installed hundred of coolers and the Hyper 212 was horribly difficult to get onto the mounting screws. I read several online guides and videos and some installers said you have to feel like you're breaking it to get the mounting screws in. After an hour of trying I was convinced I was going to break the cooler, the board, the CPU or something. I'll take back this cooler and my son a Noctua, I love mine and should have started there in the beginning.
Great video. One suggestion if it doesn't add hours of editing would be to highlight the bar on the graph that you are currently talking about. I'm thinking I'm gonna make my first UA-cam video doing a first look at an artic 360mm aio. Wish me luck haha
Nice review my dood. You're one of the few channels to do a test up to 185W, wich is good because you can get a glance of how good the cooler may be inside a warmer case, because we all live in diference places that can have higher temps.
fan speed is irrelevant, because the noise differs between fan blade design and cooler block. Either you look at a specific dB like 30 and get the coolest there, or you look at end of the lines to determine which cooler produces the lowest temperature ignoring noise, depending on your specific use case.

@@siemasz2492 You are right - Snowman... I was kind of close though :)
Enjoyed your presentation style. Excellent comparison testing 👍
Excellent comparison.
Man, I would absolutely love to see those kinds of curves for some of the Snowman coolers, especially the T6 (120mm) with single and dual fans.
that be an interesting battle, I have the arctic 34 in white and my sister the snowman t6 dual fan I want to test it in my 3700x
I appreciate the huge work you had to do, installing and removing each and every one of those coolers.
Excellent video, very informative! Liked and subscribed!
Thanks for your testing
Hardware Scientist looking forward for your next vid
Dude this video is fire (pun intended)
So balanced, well-paced and so descriptive
Good job, truly helpful
Almost bought the neptwin rgb for a second pc. Thank you for this video!
Was there a reason you were specifically drawn to the Neptwin cooler?
Great video. Unlike most sponsored vids with just 1 brand!
Arctic Freezer, really worth the name!
Awesome video mate great work, would love an updated version though!
I laughed out loud when the temp graph came up. Poor Intel cooler. LMAO.
Thank you for the very detailed video and honestly was better then most bc everyone else definitely do not go into so many comparisons and will be looking forward to future videos, especially since I am very new to the pc building world.
Hey, do you plan on doing a similar series on fans? I find your videos extremely informative and fun to watch!
Yes fan reviews are planned for the future.
@@HardwareScientist great! Looking forward to it!
I actually have a white esports duo and i was sort of doubting its performance, but after watching this i was relieved that this beautiful cooler lives up to its numbers. It looks sick in my white and black themed pc
Thank you, amazing work. Really complete and clear test. You earned a subscriber
Very informative and thorough video! Keep up the good work!
What an awesome roundup! Subbed.
Thank you so much for an awesome comparison! Very much appreciated :)
Would like to see how the commander 140 performs but there are barely any reviews, but I agree those 140p numbers are off
Thanks for the comment, very pleased that you like the Freezer 34 eSports DUO.
Arctic coolers are the best! :D
New favourite channel out there. Thanks very much!
As always great job and very useful data :)
Keep them coming!
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, now all I need is a better graphics card that does not cost too much money, at the moment I have a used Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 ti, it works quite well but it is a bit noisy, I may try to refurbish it if I can get the information and maybe a new fan that will fit.
thanks a lot! i'll use the arctic 34 duo with an i7-9700.
hows the temps on that
Have you tested 185w True Spirit 140 power once more?
Nearly every test in the web shows it has similar performance to NH-U14S. Someting had to went wrong with your test
Yes I've tested it twice, same result.
@@HardwareScientist Thanks for reply. That is really strange. I own it, and as I've said beffore, it was much better then Hyper 212 with my FX 8320 @4.4ghz 1,38V
As well almost all test shows, that it is much like NH-U14S and your 95W test shows it as well
Here is 130W @30db test:

There is not that pro test, but with similar results (but here only noctua fans were used):

Beffore, the nl hardware tested it with 160W:

Once more thanks for your reply and keep doing your test - one of the best, if not the best, on YT :)
Probably just a difference in test methods. I do real world tests, with a real case and a real CPU. A lot of others do more theoretical tests.
That's just supposition
, but yes - real world tests and a great one :).
Thanks for the Video. im a noob in PC tech and it rly helped me even tho i bought the Arctic Freezer Solo and not the Duo.
Best cooler review / comparison I've watched yet. Ty!
I'd be curious what fan speeds you used to improve cooling performance.
Fantastic video, thank you!
To the point, focus on the result, subscribed man. Great content!
This video has so much effort. Great datas. Excellent graphics. Thanks a lot
Cheers for this. Very thorough and detailed. I think I'm gonna get the Arctic Freezer 34 😉
This is a great and informative video. I especially loved the temperature to noise graph.
I discovered your channel only yesterday and...bro...your work is awesome and thanks!
I bought a Freezer 34 esports duo on your recommendation. Thank you!
Artic Freezer 34 eSports Duo.. Looks amazing, And preforms well too!
It's settled then. I am 100% getting the Freezer 34 duo.
I have Arctic Freezer 34 eSports DUO❄️ on Ryzen 5 3600 and am frozen how it performs. This is a beast!
How loud is it?
What case do you have?
Original Name52 Deepcool Matrexx 55
Mihailo Anđelić just put one in on my Thermaltake MT
Steven Juris Nice :) How does it perform?
Great video bro, you made my decision a lot easier. Thank you!
Here my journey for CPU coolers ends.
But you also increased my expectations. I wish to see tests for third party GPU air cooleers from Raijintek & Arctic.
AMD stock coolers Are much better. Interesting to see if and how those would handle compared to low cost aftermarket coolers!
They are loud and trash. I would always go 3rd part cpu coolers
@@HayateAzekura no they aren't XD
@@HayateAzekura You are rather misinformed sir. The smallest stock cooler amd currently ships; the wraith stealth, never goes above 82C on an R5 3600 lol...
@@MarcABrown-tt1fp 82 is a bit much.
@@Amonny At least it's not reaching 100°C like Intel Stock Cooler did, and yeah it's the I5 9400F on 100°C while Ryzen 5 3600 with it's stock cooler reach only 82°C which is run faster and run cooler in conclusion with it's stock cooler
Thanks for this video. I was going to go with the stock AMD cooler that comes with the Ryzen 5 3600XT and maybe get a Hyper 212 later on but this video convinced me to go for the Arctic Freezer 34 DUO for the initial build.
Just the info I needed, thanks
@14:00 looks like the neptwin rgb isn't on the list
It's tied at #5
currently have the I5-9400F Stock but just bought the Freezer 34 ES Duo and I am very excited to install it when it comes
Great review! Made my research and went for Arctic Freezer before seeing your video. It's a beast!
awesome review !! I went with the Cooler Master RGB Black Edition an I've been getting really good temps when gaming....maybe it's the because of the bigger RGB fans 🤔 ....subbed!! 👍!!
Great video. I love so much about what you have done here. Having recently gotten into the PC building space, I really hope to see you up there with a lot of the larger names. I had to go check out the other air cooler videos, even though I'm considering budget.
I really would love to see an addition of the stock AMD coolers. Having it with these upgrades and that puny Intel stock cooler, I would love to see how it compares. Especially since I'm using one myself.
A great breakdown, well thought out and presented helping me to choose a budget replacement for my Captain EX watercooler that just popped a leak. (liked & subbed) Tyvm xD
So glad I found your channel! If I could subscribe 12 times I would. Great content keep up the amazing work!
Thank you, super helpful and in depth!
Very informative video. Thank you!
Thank you very much for a nice comparison video.
Very thorough, great job and the results were surprising
Will the freezer 34 work with amd
Yep works great.
Should of done a graph of fan speed and temp much easier to understand important imo
fan speed is irrelevant, because the noise differs between fan blade design and cooler block. Either you look at a specific dB like 30 and get the coolest there, or you look at end of the lines to determine which cooler produces the lowest temperature ignoring noise, depending on your specific use case.
Psi Storm Umm ok
Nice inspection 👍... Keep it up.
