Part of the reason there are so many people with Main Character Syndrome these days is because in a way they are famous, at least in their own niche corner of the Internet, think about it Alana, the only way you could be known by over forty thousand people 20+ years ago would be if you were an actual celebrity, but thanks to social media, a lot of nobodies can be kinda famous in their own corner of the Internet, but they will almost certain not destined to become a household name.

These Gym "influencers" are the worst. Remember, if you think it's rude people are staring at them, it's not because these are creepy men staring at a girl exercising. It's because what you don't see is a full filming setup they have in the middle of a gym. People see these and goes, wtf is going on here? Then get screamed at for staring at them.
I sincerely believe all gyms should institute a no tolerance policy for filming at the gym. If you're found filming sneakily or having filmed after the rule started, you should have your membership revoked. Either forever or for 6-12 months. It has become extremely corrosive. If you HAVE to film, set up a room for gym equipment at home. If you're an onlyfans farming tool, you have the simp money to do that.
Buddy of mine goes to a gym that has a LAE rule - Lockers, Arms, Ears.
Phones must stay in your locker, be strapped to your arm for music or be against your ear when you take a call.

I am very shy and i have zero pictures of me anywhere online or even on my phone, if i saw someone filming in my gym i would legitimately lose my workout that week, considering that i pay for a yearly membership and i already can't go as often as I'd like that would be an actual issue.

3:00 Alana, you're missing context on this one. The problem is that this lady isn't there to use the facilities, she's using the gym as a photo shoot opportunity. Gyms are not generally considered a public space, as they're a membership-access space, people pay a surprisingly ridiculous amount of money to use the hardware in the space, and a degree of privacy is expected.

Alana...thats not how things work out all the time. me and my bros had a gym we used to go to but since the recording got so out of hand and if a random guy was caught doing it for himself he got kicked out but only women could film. there are double standards.
The things is that some people, i included,record themselves to check their form, it helped me a lot to correct my arching back during squats, and for a long time no one cared much about it... not until ethots made it a whole fucking spectacle out of it...

The gym stuff is about many incidents where women flipped out and screamed + got members of the gym escorted or revoked for being in their shot or doing their exercises and blank staring in the direction of that said female , calling man in the gym creeps and accusing them for sexual harassment , this is why the dude reacting that bad to a woman filming herself in the gym was , also , usually when that whole situation happen , it was usually onlyfans models that didn't even trained , they were there just to film thirst traps and "sexy" gym videos , this is why many , and i can't stress this enough, many want filming in gym to be prohibited
I feel this wasn't the first time he had to deal with someone filming in the gym. Some may say that he overreacted, but everyone has a breaking point when it comes to dealing with entitled people and they know that if you are too civil with some assholes they will think you are weak and do worse so you start to default to a more aggressive stance the more you have to deal with others crap. Then you end up on the internet after some thot recorded you and you are labeled as an overreacting asshole.

Most gyms now have a no filming policy because of the TikTok drama. There used to be standard etiquette where people filming themselves to rewatch their form were willing to shut off the recording but then clout chasing got involved.
filming in gyms is usually against the rules just let the guy at the desk know and let the staff deal with it
As an Italian i might legitimately be the only person here who speaks English on a native level and browses the internet internationally, the only people famous in italy are italians and British chefs or singers who speak italian in their funny accent, i promise you, nobody knows that lady.

You do not even need to wait 10 minutes. If you ask properly, 99% of people will gladly leave you the space while they are resting between sets.
I have approached and being approached by strangers hundreds of times asking me if we could share the machine and it is never a problem, so this is even less of a problem.
THe only problem is how aggressively and entitled she approached the whole situation.
To be fair the only time I would film myself at the gym is to actually review footage of my workout to see mistakes I did during exercises because sometimes you can't see or feel it when you're exercising

The second gym girl is why the first gym guy acts like that lol. I hate gym streamers, they are pretty close to the worst content. That and tipping culture IS the server's fault also. They could just stop working those jobs and they will have to eventually pay more. Not to mention, the biggest lie is, "I don't make any money at all, just 100-300 a day." If you are a good and entertaining server, you make bank and it's rare you don't get a tip.

The gym guy probably reacted that way because of the gym girls going around taking videos of "creeps" (Men just trying to get a workout in who look in the girl's direction for half a second), and trying to get them in trouble. The reaction is a little lacking in etiquette, but women really need to stop recording in the gyms. I'm sure they all have security cameras, and the spaces are usually pretty wide open.

@@Frawst_ First off, there's two entirely different levels of severity attached to those things. Being caught gym recording will get you called out by Joey Swole and laughed at for a few hours. Getting falsely accused of unwanted sexual conduct by a woman permanently scars or even destroys your reputation. In that regard alone, these things are not the same.
Second off, women aren't stupid. They know what they're doing when they record in the gym, and it may not _always_ be for attention, but that is the case often enough that the assumption is more than fair. Imo, the only time you should be allowed to do a personal recording in the gym is A: with the consent of the gym owner and B: as instructional material on proper exercising techniques, stances, etc. The gym is a place of self improvement, and you have no business filming yourself in there for internet clout, and to harass strangers.
Third off, women claiming all men are creeps is a ridiculous claim for a couple reasons. First, is that men can't help being men. None of us chose to be born with a schlong. Trying to claim we're all predators by nature is horrendously insulting, and if the assumption is based on biology, not something we're apparently even capable of changing. And second, men are the ones responsible for making a world comfortable enough for women to be able to make such brash claims. I always find it amusing when a group is _granted_ privilege by another, then claims the entire granting group to be oppressive.
Ultimately, the reason we don't support women who claim all men are creeps, is because it's an outlandish and unbelievable claim. Were that true, at all, women would be constantly, sexually oppressed by men, as they're the physically weaker sex. It also operates on the _very_ sexist assumption that all men are animalistic monsters, incapable of virtue or improvement. Conversely, the reason why we would blame women for recording, is that it is a provably learned, unnatural behavior. Something they _chose_ to do, that they should know is obnoxious to many people by now. Maybe I can make this even simpler. Just going by the two examples you use (women calling men creeps, men being upset at women recording) the difference is that women criticize men's _existence,_ while the men criticize the _actions_ of women. One of these can be changed, the other cannot.
Also, our parents would just re-take photos, and they had to pay for film. These people can literally take a thousand of them.
The dumbest part? This is not how most main characters behave. Not good ones, at any rate. Even a super special chosen ones like Harry Potter had trouble and weren’t always the center of attention. Call it narcissism.
I'm grateful that the average age at the gym I go to is like 35, most people are grown ups or elderly with a very polite and tidy gym etiquette/culture.
It's the result of gym membership not being the cheapest in the area, it draws in a different clientèle.
I've seen camera tripods twice in the 2 years I've been there, and the ones who brought it quickly ended their membership when me and other gymbros would consistently stand in front of the camera, flexing and fortnite dancing between our sets when they try to record themselves.
People, including me still record ourselves sometimes, but it's just form checking. And we don't need a tripod, just ask someone to hold the phone while you do the set.
I worked in gastronomy and hotel restaurant and such. If I were to get a guy like that in the restaurant I would literally drop everything I am doing as a server. Walk up to him and tell him to either quiet down and stop being disrespectful to others. Or leave the restaurant. I would maybe even offer him to bag his stuff to take away if possible.

About the gym - without much context I see two scenarios:
A) She was asked not to film multiple times, multiple days, and the guy is fed up;
B) He overreacted for no reason.
On the gym situation: "She would probably be like: I am really sorry. [if the guy had asked nicely]"
In what reality do you live in? In 9 out of 10 cases the video would have the woman claiming she was harassed and how FERAL the man was, even if he had asked politely.
This spawned the whole meme of guys laying on the ground and putting their hand behind their backs or pulling their shirt over their heads the moment they see a girl "working out" in front of a camera. Or men straight up refusing to help women in the gym if there's a camera rolling. THAT is the reality we live in.

Because it turns out that most of the regulars, the one that pay for everything, are men. Men that are sick and tired of ending up on TikTok getting falsely accused.

I once worked the deli section at a Safeway in Washington State. We had a Starbucks in the store and the person who was running the Starbucks, the customers and I watched two teenage girls record a TikTok, redo the dance cuz they must’ve not like the first take, then redo the dance again 3 more times before they left. I didn’t record them, I’m not sure if Starbucks did, but the store cameras caught everything from four different angles.

Guess it's asking for too much to get a decent wages for your job. If I know a restaurant isn't paying its staff rightfully, wether they are server or cooks, then I won't eat in that restaurant in the first place.

If I remember it correctly, I am pretty sure the guy with the Hot Dogs was doing a food eating challenge at the place he was at. It's like 4 feet of hot dogs within the time limit. I didn't go out to eat. Restaurant food is not a necessity. If I got hungry while I was out, I'd either wait till I got home, or grabbed something off the discount cart at Walmart. Tipping makes servers good money. Tipping allows a person to give the server the amount they think they deserve. You are allowed to walk out of the restaurant without tipping your server, and the worst outcome is that the staff thinks you're a dick. If we removed tipping, the prices of meals would likely increase by 50% to make the difference. If not double. The restaurant is not sitting on extra money, I've done work for restaurants while at school. The price of your meal leaves razor thin margins for the owners. This is a system that works for everyone.

People like that, who constantly complain and make things problems, are often either narcissist or externalizers, and use the degradation and belittling of others to keep themselves, only really they believe to themselves, in a high social position. By belittling others, their inferiority complex or personal issues take a back seat as they push down others and have their emotions dominated by a sense of injustice towards themselves. This “injustice” being completely made up in most cases.
So yeah, lots of people with things wrong with them or in their lives make problems for other people to feel better, or at least feel outraged to hide discomfort, dissatisfaction, or psychological pain.
And they are assholes for it. There are far better option for dealing with emotions, even as an externalizer.
